Beautiful boutique hotel in the downtown. Greatly located, very good rooms. Cheerful and helpful personnel. No complains. One important note for people with cars: the downtown is a pedestrian zone. You cannot drive to the hotel. The garage they advertise is about 10-15 min walk. My advice, call/email them in advance, they will provide the parking address you can enter into your navigation system. They can also arrange free transportation to/from the garage. I recommend the hotel.

Our stay could have started very well if there had not been a water damage in the room of this hotel before our arrival. We had left our luggage at the reception desk and presented our ID cards without being warned. After several minutes in lubjana, the reception called me to tell me that the room was not available. Back at the hotel, the staff only said they were sorry but did not offer us any alternative accommodation. A part of the hotel was privatized for a party and were overbooked. We had to ask them to call another hotel (found on booking) to check availability. A problem can happen but the staff was not able to solve it. Beyond that, the rooftop is beautiful (privatized at our arrival so inaccessible). The toilets, in the basement shared with the restaurant, were not clean. In short, to deserve 4 stars and positive ratings, the infrastructure and service must be impeccable.

We would like to start off, with an apology, as it is true that you had a reservation at our hotel, which was cancelled by us at the last moment, due to a pipe burst, resulting in the room being damaged by water. Please note, the room was occupied for previous two nights, and upon check-out, the guests did not mention any kind of damage, which means that it happened just before the room would be serviced for your arrival. Our staff is prepared to solve many minor set backs and problems, however, a pipe bursting and water damage can not be solved in a matter of minutes, so we decided to close the room until maintenance solved the issue, which was the next day. Every staff member at Vander hotel loves their role in hospitality and tourism sector, we are all professionals and we wish all our guests have a vanderful experience at our hotel, so we hope you understand we can not offer a room that is not fully functional and ready to use. It is true, the terrace was closed in the evening due to a private event taking place, but you were free to use the terrace until the event took place and the next day, but it is not true that we were overbooked we have put notices regarding the event up to our website, socials and informed all guests at check in to expect an evening terrace closure. Further more, we would like to point out, that our receptionist checked for availability at other hotels and apartment houses and successfully made a reservation at nearby airbnb apartments, while we served you complimentary drinks at our restaurant. Unfortunately, a problem, beyond our immediate capabilities to solve, has risen, and we were forced to cancel the booking at the last moment, which has negatively impacted your trip to Slovenia. We understand how overwhelming a last minute cancellation can be, we have done everything in our power to make the best of the situation and help you out. Kind regards

+ great location + lovely dinner + amazing rooftop pool + waiter who was not very familiar with the check- in process but very friendly - staff was not very pleasing. When we needed the reception desk, we just got assistance once and the waiters did not know how to check in or help us with the parking card and we had to pay the full price of the garage - the room was kind of smelly, it would be nice if windows were opened before arrival - the toilet door is transparent and cannot be closed properly (sliding door), might be uncomfortable if you are not very intimate with your partner/friend you are traveling with - breakfast was minimalistic and we had long waiting times -breakfast waitresses (friendly but not coping very well)

Dear Guest, thank you very much for taking the time to leave your feedback. Due to the current situation, the hotel reception is working on modified working hours. Every site one might want to book a room with us, states that the Front Desk is currently not working 24/7. To make sure that our guests know what the situation is, as well as to ensure they have as much information as possible, the hotel also sends a "Greetings - IMPORTANT NOTICE" email to all our guests. In that email the exact possible times of check-ins are written. Should our guests arrive after that time, some of the waiters have been shown how to ensure a smooth check in, though due to not having to do it often, we apologize if they may have seemed a bit confused. Should the guests arrive after even the restaurant is closed, we make sure to send all necessary information and instructions to the incoming guest on how to get into the hotel via our lockbox. We truly do strive to make the process as easy and quick as possible for our guests. As we are a member of the design hotels chain, the design and furniture in our rooms is certainly somewhat different from the ordinary hotel, and while the bathroom is indeed encased in glass, there is a curtain going along the entire wall to ensure all the necessary privacy. Due to the covid situation, the hotel currently does not offer continental breakfast, but rather a la carte. We try to make sure it's as personalized and quick as possible, and thank you for your feedback once again so that we may make the experiences of our guests better. Happy and safe travels in the future as well!

We stayed here as a family and couldn't have had nicer service at the hotel. The location is ideal- the center of town- you can walk right out to everything. The two reasons I hesitate to refer would be the room design- just strange to not have a soapdish and other basics in the room. We also had a door that wouldn't lock and used a owner's key to lock it the entire time we were there. Seems like that should have been fixed on a 3-night stay. Breakfast and pool were lovely.

Dear Guest, we are thrilled you enjoyed your stay at our hotel. Our staff prides themselves with doing the very best they can to ensure our guests truly feel at home while staying with us. The hotel is a member of the Design Hotels chain, and as such, the room designs and furniture is somewhat different than what one would see in other, ordinary hotels. We do however understand that that design doesn't suit every taste, and sincerely hope it did not hinder your vacation. We offer our sincere apologies regarding the room door. Our receptionist came up to check after the gentleman came to warn the reception of the problem, and the door locked normally. However, in the hopes that you could continue enjoying your stay without the need to worry whether your things are safe or not, the receptionist offered a physical room key, so you could be care-free. Hopefully it did the trick! We hope to be able to host you again, so you can make more wonderful memories with your family in Ljubljana and the many beauties of Slovenia. Until then, we wish you happy and safe travels!

We were lucky enough to stay in this modern boutique hotel for one night during a recent visit to Ljubliana. City centre is pedestrians only, but the hotel has a deal with a local parking garage for reduced rates. Check in was friendly and efficient. Room was excellent, clean and well equipped. Roof top has a plunge pool and decking which gives an amazing view across the rooftops and Castle. Breakfast was to order in the hotel restaurant due to the CV-19 restrictions but was freshly prepared with a friendly service. Many bar, cafes and restaurants directly outside of the hotel, so plenty of choice. We stayed over on a Monday so the hotel bar/restaurant were closed for lunch/dinner, but understand they are highly rated. Check out also efficient and friendly and even met the Australian owner. Highly recommended!

Dear Guest, we are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay in our hotel. The hotel is indeed located in the pedestrian area and we have a contract with a local parking garage. What's more, we can also, upon the guest's request, arrange for the city's free electric car service - called Cavaliers - to come pick up the guests at the beginning of the pedestrian zone and take them the rest of the way to the hotel. Our staff pride's themselves in serving our guests to the best of their capabilities, and we are more than glad to hear that it does not go unnoticed. We've forwarded your praise to the staff. We're sorry to hear that you couldn't enjoy the creations of our excellent chefs. We're also proud that our restaurant was rewarded a Michelin plate, and we hope we get to host you again soon, so you may truly enjoy everything we have to offer! Until then, happy and safe travels!
