I am an IHG gold member and can say this is one of the best Holiday Inn’s I have stayed in. The room was a good size and what seems to be recently renovated, very modern with a built in charging station for your phone, lovely Dove products in the bathroom, ample wardrobe space, super comfy beds and a lovely view of the city. We stayed in room 253. Breakfast was great, lots of choice hot and cold , big shout out to Sylvia who was very helpful and friendly throughout our entire 5 night stay. My husband was here to have lens replacement surgery at the Neovise clinic , it was a great location for this only about a 25 minute walk, it was also a great location for the old town, we are walkers so walked everywhere , it was a lovely walk out through Vysehrad , in fact the whole walk to the old town was very pleasant, you get to see so much more. Excellent hotel very impressed, highly recommend.

My 2nd stay here over Christmas
Easily reached by metro (station next to hotel) or by private transfer (my preferred option) that takes about 40 minutes from airport.
Check in was fast and efficient. I was recognized as a Gold Elite member and had an upgraded bedroom in the executive floor
Room was clean, with all the amenities available
Good sleep, no noises
Breakfast had plenty of options for all tastes and the staff was very attentive
Had room service as well and the food was very good
Hassle free checkout
Highly recommended if you travel to Prague
Would stay here again

Located close to the Vysehrad Metro station this hotel offers all travellers a good
and reasonable place to stay. You are guaranteed a good night sleep and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are well appointed, very well cleaned and some rooms on the higher floors offers fine views over Prague.
The large restaurant, both outside and inside dining offers a varied menu although rather limited in choices.

I stayed here before and the staff is very friendly and the rooms are nice and clean. It is a short walk to the local rail station which is only a couple stops from the train station and the Museum station which is near a lot of the Prague attractions. They also have a foreign money changing machine now in the lobby. They have complimentary breakfast too which is better than some in the other European cities that I visited.

As others have said this hotel is not directly in the centre but I was fine with the location. It's only a 5 min walk to the metro station - people saying it was 10+ must have got lost, ignore Google maps and just follow the signs. It's also a short walk to Vysehrad which has amazing views of Prague at sunset. Unfortunately my room has a view of a road - oh well, can't win them all! The rooms facing the garden or castle would be nice though. Staff were all very very friendly and helpful apart from a bartender who insisted I pay cash for a drink at night rather than charging it to my room which I did earlier (smelled dodgy to me!) Also unfortunately the AC struggled to cope, which meant I struggled to sleep... They did bring me a fan when I asked for one which helped a little bit. I am guessing the rooms are due for modernisation soon (the room was perfectly comfortable but felt a bit dated) so I hope they fix the AC system too... They gave me some points as an apology when I mentioned it to them which was appreciated. The HI at Prague Airport had brand new AC units in the rooms so I hope they get them here too! But I did get some free sparkling wine and chocolates - thank you!

We stayed 22nd September for a few nights before transferring to a river cruise.
We really enjoyed our stay. First night we ate in restaurant, food excellent. Service was quite interesting…. The guy behind the bar is certainly a multitasker.
Reception staff were helpful and polite. Staff at breakfast the same. Did see one or two rude customers though, who should think about being kind.
It was our anniversary and a nice room was sorted for us, which was really great.
It’s around 5 mins walk to metro 🚈. You can buy a 24 hour ticket for 120 czk from the machines and use bus, tram or metro. Congress centre is literally next door.
We used Uber a few times. They are very cheap in Prague. Pick up to the right of the hotel lobby area on the street (saves them messing about at the barriers).

As an IHG Gold level member, I requested an upgrade to Executive level, but checked in rather late due to trains running late. Sadly, I wasn’t offered the upgrade, but was offered a free breakfast for us both, which I was pleased to accept and was impressed to be offered this. I only mention this, because if you don’t ask you don’t get!

Now for the hotel itself, fabulous, modern, great staff, great service and would return, especially if I can use reward points! The hotel is spotlessly clean and modern. I especially enjoyed having breakfast in the conservatory. Speaking of breakfast, wow, it was impressive and staff worked diligently to keep used plates, etc clear.

When we arrived, we were told the air conditioning was down in the hotel, but were offered a fan. We were able to open the window and the fan did the trick! In many respects, it was a win because we are not used to air conditioning and it gets too stuffy for us! We were offered two welcome drinks and also received 300 IHG bonus points.

My only criticism, which is not the hotels fault, is getting from the Metro station to the hotel with heavy bags is hell on earth! No escalator, lift or any ramps to be found! If you’re disabled, please keep this in mind and perhaps consider an alternative means to get to the hotel more sensibly.

Bottom line, would I stay at Holiday Inn Congress Centre in Prague, indeed so, and can recommend it if you have business in the area.

This is without doubt, one of the nicest Holiday Inns that I’ve had the opportunity to stay!

The location is pretty good if you’re staying for conferences near the area or at Prague congress centre. This is not a fault of the hotel at all, but if you’re walking over from the metro station, the walking routes that Apple/Google Maps provide are unnecessarily long and circuitous: I’d look closer at the map since there are walking paths near the Congress centre that don’t require climbing up/down stairs to reach the hotel at all. There was some temporary constructions going on near the entrance but this didn’t cause any noise/disturbance that bothered me. The breakfast room is vast and has a lot of seating available, with a greater than average selection of hot and cold choices of food that was greatly appreciated.

I am compelled to chime in because as I’m reading the various reviews folks with IHG gold and platinum getting upgraded rooms, being offered free breakfast etc, they were either super lucky or maybe the hotel was completely empty because we stayed there multiple times since 2019 and always end up in the old hotel section without breakfast. Of course we’re only IHG platinum so it is what it is. That’s any I’m very surprised others with IHG gold had much different experience.

It had been a while since I was last at the Holiday Inn Prague but I quickly remembered why this hotel disappoints. First issue and the main issue is a stupid system with the hotel drop off where Taxi/rideshare are charged a car park fee for dropping off or picking up. Now this had been a problem on my previous visit but on this occasion it caused me missing my train as drivers kept cancelling on the app and finally a driver came around on the side street and explained why the previous 5 drivers had cancelled. It is beyond belief the hotel inconveniences guests with either a policy that is not clear or is changed from time to time. The reason i say that is when I was there in 2022 I remember asking for my driver to be released from car park and the receptionist said taxi/rideshare did not have to pay. In any case it is outrageous.
The hotel rooms are okay and the restaurant is great but I do not understand why IHG says you can use the reward vouchers at the property but the hotel does not accept.
With the addition of issues of safety around the hotel in the winter with uncleared frozen ice and a lack of care of the water on the floor around the reception I would hope that it will not take a serios accident to attend to these problems. I wrote to the hotel 6 months ago to address the issues I am still waiting for a response but in any case the fact that I rebooked was my mistake. It will take soe major improvements for me to return.

Dear Dana, thank you for your message. The best is by taxi. Hotel taxi is for the rate 850 CZK (33 €). Please, let us know via email reception@holidayinn.cz if you are interested in. Or you can use the bus and than metro. I recommend a taxi. It's the most comfortable choice. Best Regards Katerina
