This was our 5th visit to Jim Corbett as family and my individual's 8th; having explored many small or big properties in Ram Nagar but this time we booked Corbett Wild as it's very near to Bijrani zone's Amdanda gate (approx 5 Km). It's on the right side of the road; entry takes about 100 m from road entry gates. You will find lush green area and sound of a flowing river throughout the day. The wide river is just 100 meters away and it's safe to visit there during the day. No welcome drinks were offered; no evening tea was offered which is a general concept in most of the small and big resorts in Jim Corbett area. No bill was offered while checking out. I doubt if they have credit card machine but I paid online in advance and lately some amount in cash. Hotel Manager upgraded from Jungle cottage to a Duplex (on my agent's word with owner) which has balcony on both the sides. We wanted a room with sunlight so they offered us room no 204 on GF. Room was spacious and had basic amenities like Tea/Coffee maker, table, chairs, hangers etc. No locker, no refrigerator, no mirror in the room. As it happens with most of the hotels when you want to watch TV and channel options are very limited after set-top box became mandatory; we struggled here also in telling a few times to Manager Hari Singh but at the end of the day he got the Tatasky connection renewed. Next day same thing happened when we shifted to adjoining room 203 as hot water wasn't available as Geyser was not working there. Staff is new and untrained but despite lack of training they tried to help guests. They have willingness to learn. Looks like a Lala hotel as owner had kept complete control of all the things including Tatasky recharge for which owner had to be informed. Food menu is limited but quality was good. Chef Pandey is good at his job. We enjoyed Bonefire but there is no music arrangement; one of the fellow guests arranged speakers and music. Property area is good enough; they have still maintained the lawn and trees around but when it comes to property it needs a makeover as fuse bulb needs to replaced with new; electrical switches needs to working for things like heater/mobile charging; bedding etc should be cleaned; doors should be opened and closed without any hassle. This was our first vacation in Covid 19 times but we didn't see hotel or staff taking any precautions; guests were also very casual. All guests were taking meals themselves during buffet which increases chances of infection. We told Manager to look into the same so their staff offers meals at the table or atleast pour food on guests plates when they come but he unheard us. We requested staff to serve us at the table which they did with zeal, for which we are thankful. Service by staff 4/5 Property and Lush green area 4/5 Basic Amenities 3.5/5 Overall 3.5/5…
