Sue, the owner, was such a barrel of laughs, she made Shevon Mckenzie and I feel so welcome with a hug when we arrived. The place was rustic and quaint and definitely in touch with nature. We were upgraded to a self catering chalet as I had cracked a rib before the trip and she did not want me walking too much.

A wonderful break from the rush of life with beautiful views, a lovely pool, the best massage (floating after!), a friendly and fun hostess with adorable furbabies. We enjoyed our stay and feel refreshed. A repeat is a definite! Thank you Sue for making us feel so welcome.

A beautiful quiet , serene and peaceful place. I stayed for 9 days and couldn't have wished for a better place. The hostess Sue was very friendly and accommodating.
I slept so well and had a little kitchen so could make myself meals if I wanted too. I would definitely stay their again.

We have nothing but praise for this very special little piece of paradise. Our hosts were unbelievable, meeting all our requests for help. Our meals were fantastic, the staff all friendly and so helpful. We salute sue and Shaun, with our unbelievable stay in the bush! We shall never forget the warm welcome we received from both Sue and Shaun. We shall be back!😁👍👏🌈💐❤️

Spent 1 night as I was moving around during my solo vacay. It was such a beautiful, peaceful place.. Aunty Sue and her mother are such lovely people and so welcoming, we had great conversations. The staff (Mr. Dzanibe) is such a kind hearted old man, had a few words with him as well. Will definitely come back :)

The setting of the log cabins on the river bank is great but that it where it ends. The whole establishment is very dirty from garden paving in the shower that has obviously never been cleaned with dirty old mould in the shower wall grout, to old and hardened toothpaste on the basin, a very old and extremely dirty toothbrush holder glass in the bathroom, dog wee stains on the carpet and a minefield of dog turds to negotiate on the lawn. We checked out before the end of our paid-up stay. Breakfast was ample and tasty. If the owners could clean up and replace the shower floor with acceptable, hygienic tiles, it would be great. Price-wise this establishment should have charged 1/2 of what they did for what they offered.

I bought a voucher from daddy's deal for a two night stay and was really disgusted with the lodge. As soon as we drove into the lodge we knew we made a very big mistake coming here. When we were shown to our room we were even more disappointed. The room was tiny and the bathroom was so tiny and the place had a bad odour. We stayed for ten minutes and decided that we could never spend even an hour in this place. We were really disappointed because we were really looking forward to a relaxing weekend. We were even more disappointed that we were not even compensated for this.

Myself and my husband and 2 year old daughter stayed at the Tree House lodge for 4 days while attending a conference in Hillcrest. We chose this venue as it had such great reviews on TA.

We arrived at the venue at 15:00 after spending 21 hrs on the road. Just before we arrived I received a business call. On exiting our vehicle I was bombarded by Sue and here mom asking if I will sort my 2 year old out with breakfast, I said yes as I was still on the call.

Next morning we got 1 egg a piece of bacon and a pork banger, I was told to share with my daughter!!! When I asked for my daughters breakfast they got a bit irritated and said that I said I would sort her out, as we had to pay R1000 for her accommodation even after I said that she will be sleeping with us as here room is separate from our dwelling. They insisted that I pay R1000 as she would be eating with us!!!

We were told they have DSTV, which is a lie as we only had SABC channels and ETV, not to mention that we did not have a TV for the 1st night. Bedding was not changed during our stay, neither did we receive fresh towels. Microwave from the 1920's was faulty. I also found the setting very impractical if you have kids under the age of 10 as you need to lock there room with a lock in the evenings. The Fridge outside was dirty.

Our friends staircase also broke resulting in him falling with his little 8 month old on our first day there. The Wooden deck is loose and we were hesitant to walk in and out our rooms.

Very, very disappointed and will never recommended anyone with kids under 10yrs staying there.
