The hotel was very clean and well-kept. The staff was kind; however, unaware of any events in the area. The hotel was not equipped with a bus or a map of things to do. The room was clean but small. There was no ventilation other than the air conditioner. The room did not have a hair dryer or an iron however the front desk provided it to you when asked. They had DirecTV with about 8 to 10 channels and if you had a Netflix or Amazon account, you were able to login to watch movies. They must have been Renovations going on because it was very noisy with banging just about every day. The bathroom was pretty; however, the water was lukewarm and the water was spewing from different directions from the showerhead-misty in some areas and powerful in others. The bathroom floor stayed wet. There was limited parking; however, there are buses in the area. Make sure will take Uber from the airport because the taxi charged me $18 going and Uber charged about $4.88 to take us back.…
There are no elevators. The tiled stairs are not protected with rubber at the edges so the edges are super sharp. I went to the Villa Del Sol to see a friend. It rained and the floors were wet. On my way down the stairs I slipped and fell right on the sharp edge. The manager Maria Silvestre did not want to help me or let me make a report. She said I was a visitor and visitors aren’t allowed so there’s nothing she can do.
This place is a diamond in the rough that I'm afraid to even talk about because I feel so lucky to have found it and don't want everyone else to know about !! Just kidding ! Apparently it's been around for a long time but is now family owned and managed. The staff is so friendly, helpful and personable and when they're not doing something for you, they are cleaning !! The open air lobby and pool are so inviting and the location is so close to the beach and ANY kind of food you can think of as well as a market all in short walking distance. I will be back !!
My family and I had our travel plans scrambled because of the big earthquakes in PR in Jan. 2020. We were rerouted on flights, and had to stay an extra night in PR. This hotel was available, affordable for the two rooms we needed last minute. Upon arrival we realized I’d plugged in the wrong date for one of the rooms - the lady at the front desk said no problem and seemed to correct my mistake/cancel the wrong date and get us all squared away for the proper night. No problems. Flash forward to now, and my credit card statement shows she did NOT cancel the wrong date, and despite telling me it was cancelled, charged my card, anyway. I called the hotel (took 3 calls to get a manager) only to have them tell me they’d refund my card - THEY CHARGED IT AGAIN!! Now my card is frozen, and the hotel refuses to take a call to rectify what boils down to bad employee skills and theft. Skip it - it may be cheap but it’s going to cost you much more in the long run. …
I lost passport so Royal Caribbean wouldn't let me on cruise so I left and found this place while everyone else cruised. Actually the overpriced airport hotel bar recommended it lol! So I just stayed in town and headed over. Screw RC, I had so much fun here I'm coming here next time instead of a cruise. A lot cheaper and 5 min walk from beach. 1 min walk to excellent PR and Cuban restaurants. 5 min drive to airport. You do hear planes taking off, but didn't bother me. Excellent professional staff. Refreshing pool, cheap water and beer in the lobby. Free coffee. B&B feel yet still a hotel. Really quaint and cool place. Yeah, last review said no elevators. They are correct. You have what, about 10 steps total to climb? Give me a break. If you can't climb 10 steps, go down the road and spend 5x what you pay here and get a f- elevator. And during the earthquakes, no worries, generators cranked up on demand. Arnold said, "I'll be back"…
