What an awesome experience, starting with the drive in and concluding with the drive out. A digital and telephonic detox in amongst the most amazing setting of beautiful flowers and wonderful hosts. The cottage takes you back 100 years, but the hot water in the shower and the crystal clear drinking water from the tap doesn’t make it feel that way. The hosts have done everything to prepare you for when the sun goes down, so allow it to happen and enjoy the experience. A great big bonfire out in the front allowed us to watch the sun go down and prepare for the evening without any digital connectivity. The whiskey, wine and warm blankets made the experience around the fire even more memorable.

We were charmed by die Kliphuis - its like stepping into times gone by! And yet, we were very comfortable.. a gas powered fridge and piping hot water, a fire to warm us during the cold evening, and so many delightful homely touches - from delicious rusks, vases filled with shiny greenery, to lamps and candles in case one didnt want the solar powered lights on (which i didnt) I loved the candle lit atmosphere...
a real delight and complete getaway from it all! Such a feeling of tranquility and peace here....

Very well run and neat camping site. Have no idea what the ablutions are like as we don't need any. Camping sites are well set out and marked and quite spacious. Each site has water and electricity.
Owners are very friendly and accomadating.
Apparently also pet friendly which is good to know for future

Don’t miss this place. Coming through the gate in winter it looks a bit sad, but DON’T let that fool you! Magda is a great hostess and she takes care of everyone, she runs the extra mile with a beautiful smile

We spent the last 10 days in Kleinzee and PortNolloth, although we had beautiful sunsets… that was about it!

We like to support the locals and dine with them in stead of bringing our city diets with us. BUT

We lived on RV samies, sausages and chops we brought along “just in case”. Well, we needed our emergency supplies as there were no restaurants open (except Scotia Hotel, which was GREAT). We were longing for some real food hot real simple and tasty.

I enquired in advance and Magda said she ran a basic collect and go kitchen at Verbe. What an under statement!!

She arrived in her little yellow raincoat to bring our meals!! Scrumptious soup and FRESH rolls the night we arrived.
The best toasted samies you can imaging, each served in a blanket-pocket - nice and warm in the freezing rain. She brought us the best Bazaar curry (un)known on earth complete with sambals, coconut and chutney.

We came for a night and ended up staying for three!
This morning my hubby got up and declared he needed a dozen pancakes to get through another rainy freezing day. I jokingly told Magda. Lo and behold at 1pm her little yellow raincoat knocked on the RV’s door - Delivery!! She brought us pancakes made in her brandnew pans.. WOW!!
Thank you for a fabulous meals!! The KFC was so good! We saved some for padkos and the soup is going home for dinner tomorrow. Thank you for sharing you precious fresh baby spinach with us!! Loved the carrots too. What a spread. We have not had a decent meal in 11 days before we got here. Thank you so much for going above and beyond! Thank you for making what could have been a lousy holiday an absolute feast - despite a the rain, despite your flooded lodgings, despite your hubby having health issues.
This is TRUE Namakwaland hospitality in the best sense of the word. Don’t miss out on Verbe Caravan Park, Kamieskroon
