Welcome to the Caribbean coast of Colombia where you will find sandy beaches, coconut palms, a jungle and the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta (the tallest coastal mountain range in the world)! Enjoy our private beach in Viajero Tayrona or take a swim in the pool with a tropical cocktail in hand from our beach bar. We have private eco habs with their own decks as well as shared dorms (some are female-only)! Enjoy our FREE DAILY ACTIVITES: From volleyball tournaments, to yoga and meditation, dance classes, movie nights on the beach, bonfires, karaoke nights, or our famous giant Jenga (if its taller than 27 levels, you’ll get a free shot!). Looking for an adventure? Book a surf lesson or go trekking and explore the ‘Lost City’ where you will meet a local indigenous tribe. Maybe something more chill? Lay on a hammock on the beach while you watch the sunset or book a massage and enjoy it while listening to the waves crashing along the shore. If you are looking for a place to relax, tan, drink some cocktails and do some activities, this is the place for you!

This hostel is stunning. The location is incredible. There are multiple cafes and restaurants on-site (there is not a kitchen to cook in however). Also, the way that the dorms are set up really warrant a great atmosphere for meeting people. Everything opens up into a main courtyard-like area that has the main bar, volleyball court, beach, and pool. Additionally, there are multiple events that go on daily that help introduce you to people. (I played volleyball everyday at 4 pm in a tournament and my team won each day so we got a free cocktail). There is also a surf school on site. They have lots of boards to rent. Unfortunately, mother nature didn't want me surfing while I was there because there were zero waves.

The main negative about this hostel is the terrible wifi. They even have a place that is considered the "coworking space" and the wifi is completely unreliable. For this hostel being a place that fosters and caters to digital nomads, this is completely unacceptable.

The dorms were fantastic. They are cubby style with a thick curtain for privacy. You have your own private light and wall outlet as well as a locker for your things. I got a dorm with A/C which is VERY necessary with the weather. The other cool part about the dorm was the private outdoor shower. A very nice touch to be able to shower under the stars at night.

The only other comment I would say (and spoke with the gentleman at the desk about), is the reliability of the plan for the day. Because there are so many things/event allotted in the day, people expect that they are going to happen. Multiple times they would say "x is going to happen at this space at this time" and something would change, go wrong, etc. The staff at the front explained that the person who coordinated all of the events etc had just left. Honestly, you could tell. If they had a reliable person to fill that roll, this hostel would be incredible. This place has insane potential to be truly incredible. All the ingredients are there. As someone who has worked in hospitality before, it was disheartening to see small things that could be tweaked by good management to really make it a very special place.

I know Viajero has a reputation and has many fanatastic locations in numerous countries. I hope this location can sort their staffing out to reach full potential.

As long as you don't need to get work done/are tied to wifi, I would certainly recommend this hostel!

The location is idyllic and the food is amazing! Staff are very helpful and friendly and can help organise trips/transport. There are activities every evening and a good buzz around the place. We stayed in a dorm which was very well equiped, each pod with loadsa of space, your own light, socket and hooks. The facilities - pool, bar, table tennis, volleyball- are second to none. We booked an extra night and it was a struggle to leave!

The overall experience at Viajero was exceptional. The hostel is located right by the beach, the rooms were big with lots of space. The beds were clean and they would change the sheets every day, you can also get a fresh towel everyday. There are also plenty of activities to keep you busy, from playing volleyball or ping pong to yoga, surfing, or even learning muay thai. If you're looking for a more quiet time, you can read a book while swinging on a hammock or get a massage and chill by the pool. Make sure to check out the surfing school, Miquel is a great instructor and makes amazing frappucinos :)

The staff is amazing, friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Michelle who organised a PCR test for me with short notice and Julie who was always helping me extend my stay. Thank you ladies :D

I will be back!

I made a reservation at this hostel with 7 other friends and days after our bookings (which we made on Booking) they told us they didn't have availability and provided absolutely no alternatives, options or compensation for their mistake in overbooking themselves.

They were absolutely unhelpful when it came to finding solutions. Instead of dealing with hospitality staff I felt as if I was trying to claim government benefits. In other words, they provided zero support and made it feel as if I was seeking charity instead of having a confirmed booking with them.

I did not visit this place so I can't speak about the facilities or experience (though some of the reviews here are certainly telling) but just from dealing with them about a problem THEY had with overbookings, it was made clear to me that I was not welcome and that I wouldn't want to spend a penny here. Take your money elsewhere!

Place has the most beautiful scenery but there is a lot of negatives as the price is premium for Colombia.
The pool is absolutely filthy, you can’t see more than 30cm in front of you.
I personally had a number of bed bites, at first thought they were mosquitoes but after visiting a pharmacy was informed not.
The rooms are pretty average, basic, kind of like camping. No wifi in the room for those who need it.
Service was generally poor, plus not speaking English. They encourage card payments at reception but the staff have less interest serving anybody with card.
The breakfast is absolutely awful. The worst quality fried food you can imagine served with a tiny portion of eggs and bog water to drink.
Other meals average at best, apart from the steak in the evening was absolutely amazing.
But it’s Colombia and a remote area..

We booked a private bungalow for three nights after our ciudad perdida trip. The bungalow is huge, has an outdoor bathroom and private terrace. The hostel is more like a resort with all amenities you could dream of. Private beach, pool with a bar, outdoor gym and yoga plattform, massages (professional and very good) and a restaurant with lots of food options. Free drinking water and coffee all day, free activities (like yoga- thanks Christina) and super helpful and friendly staff. You can easily grab a bus on the road to Palomino or Santa Marta or Tayrona Nationalpark.
We liked the fact that there was no wifi in our room, but there is a coworking place, too.
The nicest place we stayed at on our trip through Colombia! Highly recommended (but bring lots of repellent- sand flies)

This is much like a resort. Very big, in a beautiful location. I had a private room which was amazing, large, beautiful, secluded. The swimming pool and pool bar are great. The reception staff is great. The restaurant staff not so professional. However, this is one if the more expensive hostels and you would expect it to be much better value. The wifi is pretty bad, and hardly works in the private rooms. There are 3 options for breakfast, but for private rooms (around 600,000 COP a night!) breakfast is included and only one option! This is ridiculous.
The restaurant prices are high. There was one sushi night but the sushi run out after half an hour and there was only a non vegetarian option left. The same thing happened the following night with the taco menu.
The food in all is average.
This hostel is good but very overrated and overpriced.

This hostel is a gorgeous resort nestled between the palm trees on the Caribbean coast. It’s an absolute paradise. Perhaps one of the best parts about it is the caring staff, particularly Michelle from reception who practically saved my life. I was sick one night and had to be rushed to the hospital, and Michelle stayed with me into the wee hours of the night, providing support and comfort. Thank you so much Michelle!

We sadly only stayed for one night before spending a night in Tayrona park. I say sadly because this place is a haven. The layout is fantastic with loads of options for activities, from volleyball to yoga and swimming in the sea, which there is direct access to. The food was excellent with a great poolside bar. Alvaro David Sandoval made incredible cocktails and provided unforgettable service. We will definitely be back to the most impressive hostel we have been in and will stay longer next time!

I visited Viajero for 1 week in January and was pleasantly surprised. The property is extremely large and open concept that flows nicely onto the beach.

Lots of amenities like pool, and surf board rentals, nice restaurant and outside bar.

The hostel rooms were clean with large showers.

This hostel brought in a fun crowd so lots of evening entertainment was enjoyed throughout the stay.

Thank you Viajero!

Yes, meals are included. Food is fantastic. You are asked daily to chose ahead of meal, the choice is limited to a couple of options but I would say that you would always find something that will appeal to you. The meals aret always delicious and freshly made.

Is just breakfast included in the price? Or breakfast lunch and dinner?

Best to email the hotel and ask them. I was on a Backroads trip, so all the meals were included, but my guess is, due to it's location and the lack of other restaurants nearby, it's probably included. I did notice that other guests, not on my Backroads trip were all eating dinner there. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
