Groenvlei Guesthouse: A serene escape amidst lush vineyards. Rooms are charming with picturesque views, but lacked cleaning supplies. Check-in experienced slight delays, yet staff were friendly. Overall, it's a tranquil retreat worth visiting for a peaceful getaway amidst wine country's beauty.

We attended a wedding over the weekend and stayed at the venue so we didnt have to drive home late at night. The room was lovely and very comfortable. I loved the decor in the room - my kind of style! The bed was very comfortable as well. The only thing that I would say wasnt good was the little mini bar fridge - it was quite loud in the room...but what can one do? The room also didnt have coffee and tea facilities for a late night cuppa... but overall its a lovely guesthouse and very beautiful! Thanks to Geraldine who was a fantastic host and very friendly!

Situated in close proximity to major wine farms and the Stellenbosch town centre, this makes for a convenient stay. The room was spacious but did not have any view to speak of. The breakfast room through has Table Mountain visible in the distance.

Needed to attend a wedding at a nearby venue. Being from out of town this venue ticked all the boxes. Had a comfortable stay and a good breakfast in the mornings.

We only stayed one night there. Service and breakfast was excellent. They went out of their way to accommodate us. Quiet and peaceful. Room was clean with very tasteful macaroons and a bottle of water which we enjoyed.

Finding this place without GPS and coming from the Stellenbosch side was difficult. There was no signing from that direction. I had to phone for guidance.
The old house is well maintained and my room well proportioned, furnished and with a good bathroom. I would be eulogistic if it had not been for a very uncomfortable, hard mattress had caused bruised hips and a bad night. It needs changing.
The breakfast was individually cooked and served quickly.
I walked the perimeter of the estate and met the owner half way round for a chat. He cares for his vines by weeding etc but uses the earth between rows for growing barley. I enjoyed the round walk.
Wifi worked perfectly and car parking is within the gated, locked at night, estate.
Excellent price including breakfast.

What a gem!!! Pal and I go out every Thursday to each and every wine estate in Stellenbosch/Paarl/Wellington area - for last 10 years - how we missed this gem is amazing. Their wines are simply divine and you get a personal one-on-one with the owner explaining all their techniques and most importantly he joined us in our wine tasting - which a lot of wine-estates can't be bothered with. It's a must for locals and visitors alike!!!

We stayed in Groenvlei on our recent visit to Stellenbosch. It is a very beautiful farm. We are family of 7 (husband and I, 3 teenagers, 10 yr and 3 yr old) and we booked "The Cottage". It is a nice two bedroom house with 1 queen bed, 2 single beds and a bunk bed. It fits us all perfectly. There is only one bathroom though and for big family like us, you have to wait for your turn :)
The house was clean and has basic furniture.
They have good cable TV program and internet was reasonably fast and working well.
We opt for self catering and we make our own food most of the time. Plates, cutlery, cups and glasses are plenty. Only that they have no pots and pans. Maybe they forgot to put it there for us.
There is only 1 heater for the living room but no heater for both of the bedroom. If you come during winter like us, it can be quite cold.
The farm has few dogs and cats around. If you have kids, they will love it.
Generally we have a good time at Groenvlei.

My husband and I attended my friends son's wedding reception here. The food was all delicious, the venue is really nice, we had canapes outside on the lawn first which was also very good. Lovely evening.
