What superb hosts Nicola and Marius are! They made us feel so welcome, helped carry luggage, offered sound advice and generally (along with their friendly staff members Maggie and Nandi) went the extra mile to make our 4-night stay thoroughly enjoyable. Our family group occupied four comfortable bedrooms plus the self-catering cottage. The room Flamingo's Nest was particularly well appointed with lots of space, a private veranda and double shower. The buffet style breakfasts were very tasty with plentiful food, accompanied by great coffee and gorgeous sea views. We appreciated having use of the kitchen during the day, the sheltered veranda for our sole smoker, and large communal lounge for gathering and playing games in the evenings. We also had access to the washing machine which was very helpful.
Two of our group were brave enough to go on the shark cage dive. The guest house is situated conveniently close to the harbour and across the road from a fabulous restaurant (the Great White House) which is definitely worth a visit for a meal, a drink, a spot of shopping or just coffee. It was very quick and easy to get to the beach for early morning walks along a stunning stretch of seashore. While in Gansbaai it's definitely worth exploring Klipgat Cave, Cape Agulhas and the penguin sanctuary.
We all absolutely loved our sojourn at White Shark Guest House and hope to return one day.

Very nice guesthouse with particularly good service. From the suggestions for things to do to taking care of the bookings, everything was great. The breakfast was extensive and special requests were taken into account. The location is central and close to the starting points for shark diving or the sea safari. The cottage we stayed in (2 rooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen and spacious garden terrace) was large and comfortable and equipped with everything you need for self-catering. The breakfast we booked was excellent and plentiful. A place to feel at home, I can recommend it 100%.

The bedrooms are large and beautifully furnished as are the guest lounge areas. Breakfast is great with plenty of choice, both hot and cold dishes available. The hosts and their staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. Fantastic value.

What a charming and lovely place to call 'home' for 3 nights! This was our 2nd visit after our first time to South Africa in 2022, and we knew we wanted to come back. The guesthouse is ideally located just a few steps down to the harbour where the shark cage diving companies operate (we recommend Marine Dynamics!), and right across the street from the The Great White House, with it's very good restaurant and gift shop. Nicola and her husband Marius are delightful and warmly welcoming hosts, available for any questions or concerns. We stayed (once again) in the "Flamingo's Nest" - a very spacious room with huge patio overlooking the bay. Comfortable and peaceful, and as they were in between full bookings we had the building to ourselves, which was a treat! They were happy to let hubby set up his ham radio for him to play, while I went cage diving! They served a beautiful breakfast buffet each morning, with numerous choices, very good. The beautiful little Penguin Sanctuary is just down the road and absolutely worth a visit. Gansbaai village has a nice little mall and a couple of decent restaurants, but we ended up eating across the street each night as it was convenient and the food is excellent. Can also recommend a visit to Danger Point and learning about the famous Birkenhead shipwreck - spectacular park and walking trails. A huge thank you to Nicola and Marius and staff for making us feel like family, we will definitely be back on our next trip to South Africa!

What a pleasure to read this review. It is people like you who make us love our jobs. Thank you very much for staying with us. It is always a pleasure to have you here. After spending 3 days here, it felt like family leaving when you left. Please come visit again when you are in SA. Much love from Marius and myself.

We had booked a 1-night stay here to allow us to do a trip whale watching and shark cage diving (booked separately from our accommodation). Prior to our arrival, we were informed both of our trips had been cancelled due to the wind. Our host, Nicola, was incredibly helpful and was able to book us onto a separate whale-watching tour without any fuss. Sadly we couldn't book another shark cage diving tour despite Nicolas's best efforts and offered us a discount next time we stayed to allow us to do this. They went above and beyond to assist us. The room had incredible views and was very clean. The bed was also very comfortable and there was a great selection of options for breakfast. We look forward to staying again.

We spent 3 days in this loving guest house. We felt very comfortable there. The hosts (Nicola and Marius) and the entire crew were super friendly and helpful and had some good tips ready. So we always had very nice conversations at the breakfast table. The rooms as well as the entire accommodation are very cozy (and also very clean). The location is perfect for whale watching or shark cage diving tours. The starting point for the tours is only a few meters away. Directly opposite the property there is also a small shop, a petrol station and a very good restaurant. So you have everything you need there. We really enjoyed our time there (and always felt safe). We can recommend this accommodation 100%:-)

Super nice reception, good location for a stop-over when driving the Garden Route. The hosts are very accommodating and organize both a table in the restaurant (directly opposite) and a place on the boat of the whale watching. Room was spacious and the bathroom very large. Breakfast was kept simple but still adequate.

This guest house is run by a fantastic team who made us feel at home and cared for. We arrived at the guest house quite late in the evening, but Nicola (General Manager) kindly stayed at the property to hand over the keys and give us the details about our stay. Prior to that, we had some great communication over WhatsApp to coordinate, including a helpful offer to arrange a dive with the bay's sharks. The guest house is located within walking distance of the main shark dive companies and the town's harbour and beaches.
My family stayed in the two-bedroom apartment and one of the main rooms in the guest house. All very comfortable and clean. We were lucky enough to be staying at the guest house at the same time as a famous South African signer, which was a plus!
And don't miss out on the incredible breakfast in the morning. You won't leave hungry.
Thank you, Nicola and team, for making our stay special.

We were treated like royalty. The property is gorgeous, so comforting and spacious with beautiful rooms and a shared balcony with a wonderful, restful view. Our host was so supportive to our visit and breakfast was varied and filling. A great venue for a group booking due to the arrangement of the rooms and the enormous lounge area on the top floor. The restaurant opposite is also a spectacular experience with outstanding food - so this makes for an amazing stay in the area - not to mention the wildlife boat trips at the borrow of the road from the harbor.

Good day Wendy. Right across the street from is the Great White House. Wonderful restaurant with big bar and you can just walk to them. They are also open 7 days a week.

Hi Nora.
Thank you for your inquiry.
Our Leopards lair consist of a King bed very spacious bathroom with a bathtub and shower and the room looks out on the garden and street.
Good morning Chris
Thank you for your note.
Would say Ivanoe from Gansbaai would be the best! and you can do with them a sunset cruise ... beautiful to see the whales with their calves late afternoon with sun set.
Aug is high season for whales so my advice would be to pre-book your seats. We can also assist and reserve 2 spaces for you. No deposit payable only full payment on the day of your tour. On your arrival we will inform you regarding the meeting time and also give you an update on conditions and sightings.
Any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
Warm Regards
Rene
