Detailed Reviews
This private hotel is a gem. Can't recommend it highly enough, on the basis of our limited experience over the past two days. We had arrived from Manapouri, raining continuously, and were able to find a park right by the hotel entrance. Plenty of off-street parking if you can't be as lucky as us.
Our hosts were fantastic - service, advice, flexibility, you name it.
We decided to have dinner in-house and were enjoying a drink in their great little bar when the news hit about a Covid case in Auckland. We watched the news with other guests, had a great dinner, slept well, and headed home to Christchurch the next morning. We had intended to stay two nights!
Asking if there was a local supermarket so we could buy something to eat/drink on the drive, we were offered a "packed lunch". Fantastic! Thanks guys.
Location is ideal for access to central Invercargill, and the whole package of a warm, inviting small hotel, with large comfortable rooms, in a lovely "not new" building, with excellent hosts, is hard to find everywhere.
We will definitely be back, viruses permitting!

What a little gem! Tom and Rose were fabulous hosts, who went the extra mile to make our stay just perfect.
As we sat eating our meal, I was trying to think of an excuse to make another trip to Invercargill, as our brief one night stay wasn’t enough.
Tom gave us excellent advice on what was going on and Rose really looked after us in the restaurant. They even prepared a special dish for our nine year which he loved! The mushroom risotto and the muscles were divine.
I highly recommend staying here, the restaurant and bar are for exclusive use of the people staying - so no public bar feel here.
Just book it 😊

Had a great stay at this downtown Hotel which has real character about it
Room was large and had everything you needed
The hospitality is fantastic with hosts Tom and Rose. They are always available to give advice and help
The hotel has a small bar for guests which has a real homely feeling.
Breakfast is available, well priced and great quality.
It is nice to stay in a hotel where you are made to feel at home rather than the big chains

We only stayed for one night as we were en route to Stewart Island. It is an excellent place to stay in Invercargill, lovingly restored, and very reasonably priced. We each had the Blue Cod special in the restaurant - great cuisine. Thank you, Tom and Rose, for a very pleasant stay.

The title reads, quaint hotel but hides the warm service from the hosts. From the personal greeting to showing you to your room. They cared about every detail. The hotel is walking distance from all eateries but boasts its own restaurant again quaint style. I would love to bring my wife here for a weekend get away.

This Heritage listed hotel is without doubt the best I have stayed in. And that is because the hosts really made you welcome. Large warm room( we had an executive studio on the ground floor- I can't do stairs). Breakfasts included continental or cooked, both were a great way to start the day. Very convenient location.
You will love the snug bar and the lovely old furniture if you are an antique buff like me. We'll be back!!

Charming hotel, close to the centre but what makes it so special are Tom and Rose the lovely hosts. They will help you in any way they can and always with a great sense of humor. The dinner in the restaurant is delicious, no need to go out and find a place to eat. The beds are heaven to sleep in after a long walk and the rooms are clean.
Would definitely recommend it!

From the moment we walked in we were looked after. Tom and Rose's hospitality was superb. Hotel clean, warm and welcoming. Food outstanding, a great selection offered, lovingly cooked which showed in presentation and taste. Wish we were here another night !! Breakfast didnt disappoint either and finished off an awesome stay. Definitely recommend and return if ever down this way again. 6 people in our group who all enjoyed their stay. Thanks to Tom, Rose and the chef 😊

Overnight stay after a great long day in the Catlins.
Very friendly & helpful owners, convenient parking & a character property.
Room was a good size but decor & furnishings are a bit dated, not a lot of natural light, & bed was a bit soft for me. New looking modern bathroom was good & amenities were fine.
Nothing really stands out either way for me on this one ......

Tom and Rose were so lovely. The heater was on in our room when we arrived, they were friendly and accommodating. We had a drink in the bar and enjoyed their company. It just had a lovely feeling. Our room was spotless. A real delight. Would definitely stay again.

Thankyou for your question.
We have many parking options at the hotel and all are free. In the first instance please utilise the parking spots adjacent to the Reception door on Piccadilly Lane.
