Warm welcome and a run down on our underground cave for a two night experience. Car space, two bedrooms, a small kitchen with outdoor bbq and hot plates. Wi-Fi is free and very good. Breaki provided is contintential and lavish. Bed comfort is good. A bonus is tge above ground pool. Rose is a down to earth, honest character and provided all the information needed for exploring this unique place.
Stayed there overnight with my wife and kids on my way to Uluru, what a nice surprise. Rose (the owner) is a lovely lady and knows everything about customer service. She made sure we were comfortable, kitchen was stocked with breakfast goodies, the room had everything we needed (including WiFi), beds were comfortable. My only recommendation to Rose was to move the electric stove top to somewhere inside, close to the kitchen, but not a big deal. The BBQ area was great as well. Will stay again at some point!
We stayed here on our way to and from Uluru. The place was a little hard to find (look carefully for the signs a couple of kilometres south of the centre of town) but when we arrived we felt very welcome by the lovely host and her cute dog. The place was amazing- staying ‘underground’ is a experience in itself - so quiet and very dark. It was beautifully set out, cosy, practical and spotless. The sunset and sunrise views from the ‘roof’ were stunning and a bit surreal. The do-it-yourself breakfast provided was high quality and delicious. My friend booked the place via their website and found that process really easy. I really look forward to returning some time.
We stayed here twice, on our way to and from Uluru. The owners are friendly and welcoming but are careful to keep your privacy. The accommodation is in the rocks and is absolutely beautiful. It's clean, cool in the daytime, warm in the evening and specious. There was every facility we needed, laundry, pool, and kitchen all well stocked. Breakfast was delicious with plenty to choose from. Everything is high quality and the place is beautifully decorated and very clean. Take a walk up on the 'roof' for a gorgeous desert sunset. I will definitely return here.
We are a family of four looking for the amazing underground experience. This is exactly what we received and more. This place was amazing, quirky and well thought out. Rose and Alex who welcomes you is lovely. Makes you feel right at home. We loved meeting squirt the dog. Rose has thought of everything from the stewed fruits with the continental breaky to the lovely sheets and towels. We enjoyed the recommended outback bar and grill for dinner which was the best steak I have eaten in a long time, to the documentary’s on opal mining which is beside the tv with other great movies like Mad Max and Priscilla queen of the desert. Make sure you visit Opolios for some amazing service and opals Stella make you so welcome. We brought some gorgeous earrings and had a lovely chat to Stella’s daughter. Thank you we loved Coober Pedy can’t wait to come back.…
If you are looking for a peaceful, private haven with a touch of luxury in the middle of an amazing landscape, Down to Erth is the place to be. It has everything we could have wanted including a wonderful host who went the extra mile to ensure our stay was all we could have wished for. Thanks Rose.
We had such a beautiful stay at Down to Earth B&B. The accomodation was very unique and exactly what we were hoping for and more. The service was exceptional. A real attention to detail and great advise about the area was given. We would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a truely memorable experience. Thanks a lot!!
Down to Earth B&B is a wonderful place to stay. Having travelled on one of the hottest days, we were welcomed with a friendly host and our own private pool. This accommodation comes highly recommended and is ideal for families visiting the area.
After a long and eventful road trip from Broken Hill, we arrived at what looked like a working gravel pit, the Coober Pedy township is bleak to say the least. But the Down to Erth BnB was a standout feature that was very welcoming. The accommodation was impeccably clean and well appointed, the owners made us feel very welcome and were obviously proud of the home they provided for us. Thank you for your hospitality and we look forward to seeing you again someday.
Down to Erth B&B is an exceptionally unique experience on the outskirts of Coober Pedy. Driving up, you would have no idea that people live here. The surrounding neighborhood looks much like the mines stretching in every direction, making for an incredibly atmospheric stay. The underground home itself, built into the ancient sandstone bedrock, is cozy, cool and welcoming - a well kept space with all the amenities of home. Rose goes out of her way to welcome you and to provide wonderful perks such as a generous collection of Coober Pedy inspired movies (Mad Max, etc), delicious breakfast items, a washing machine, and guidance for sights around town. We only wish we could’ve stayed longer! If you’re coming to Coober Pedy, want to escape the tourist crowds and have a more authentic experience, then stay here.…
