Arrived at the hotel Allen and was supprised at how nice it is. There is a pool, and outdoor meals areas that provide plenty of shade and atmosphere. Inside there is the standard pub style set-up, Bar lounge and meals areas. The room is well maintained and clean. The bathroom was good and the shower had great hot water. Soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided. Overall would definitely stay here again.
We stayed at Hotel Allen for two weeks in early August 2019. We found our room clean and comfortable. Our balcony overlooked Gregory Street. Thank you Carol,Kim and everyone else for making our stay great. We had many seniors meals at Hotel Allen. These meals were tasty and very good value. There is no better location in Townsville than this Hotel. It is only a few minutes walk to The Strand, Queens Park, shops and many restaurants. During our stay there was a light display at Queens Park and an arts festival (with great music) at the Strand. We hope to return next year. Anne and Peter from Melbourne
Guess this pub has conformed to the female mayor who says on Anzac it’s about community who hasn’t served in a front line unit. She has stopped mate ship since u can’t celebrate with mates untiln1300 but the mayor is home doing nothing but writing useless speeches about her ares service. Oh I booked for lunch 2 months ago got there today some scrubber said we aren’t open until 1300 but I booked for 12pm oh well they didnt care wow yet all you civilians enjoy what we fought for
Price was very cheap. Very noisy at night traffic noise room doors banging closed and locals drinking in the car park. Room very dated TV sits on top of the fridge and gasp and staple on fridge to keep it closed. Room was clean Don’t think I would stay here again
Not a good stay. Had to leave after 2 nights. No wifi, very basic hotel. Rarely anyone at reception. Air conditioning until was so long I couldn't think or sleep. Bar was always closed. Could never find a staff member for help or requests.
