Friendly and helpful. Easy process to check in after hours due to a late night flight. Rooms are budget in color scheme, but do have comfy beds, good air con and a bar fridge. Very well priced. Perfect for a short stay or overnight. A little bit of noise fro the nearby road. However the air con does block out most of the noise. Only a $15 Uber ride from the airport. Free onsite car parking. Will stay here again
We stayed here as we have before as we had an early flight next day. The hotel is right at the airport. Rooms are clean and have everything you need, staff really helpful. Great restaurant. Biggest problem is walking to it from the terminal, it is not far but it is confusing with poor signage in the big car park that you have to walk through. It is a great option if you just need a night before or after a flight.
Firstly I have to say the staff member I met was excellent. He stayed late to let me check in and was friendly and helpful. After that it goes down hill. The place looks pokey and worn, the rooms have all the ambiance of a jail cell. I would like to say they were at least clean but they aren’t. The AC when turned on made a lot of noise but no air came out. I pulled the air filters and they were totally blocked. This is not only very poor maintenance on the part of the hotel but also a health hazard. On a final note, I don’t know who thought up the room paint schemes but stark white above waist height and puss green below is terrible.
I tried to send this review previously but here in rural PNG, I have had many internet access "challenges", hence the delay. I have used Ibis Budget Hotel at Brisbane Airport, in my transits between Tasmania and PNG on many occasions over the years but that is usually just one night each way. I booked in for 3 nights from 01st August 2020 because of the paucity of direct flights between Hobart and Brisbane and I had to link with a flight to Port Moresby on 4th August. As with many people travelling at this time, the paper work for me to return to PNG did not eventuate in time and I finished up staying at the hotel until the morning of the 11th August (10 days). It was quite a stressful time. I had had 2 negative COVID tests before leaving Tasmania but needed to access a GP clinic for further COVID tests before departing for PNG, as the time had lapsed since my previous ones in Tasmania. I do not know Brisbane at all. Belinda and all the team at Ibis Budget at Brisbane airport were amazingly supportive and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. They helped me with local maps, and with contacts for GP clinics. I needed to print out several documents including my new ticket when all the final paperwork was completed - this they also helped me with. When I was unable to fly out on 4th and it was obvious I would need to stay another week, Belinda also organised for me to move to another room which was quieter and larger. This made a huge difference. I have always found the staff friendly, the service very good and the rooms spotless but my experience on this recent visit was on another level again. The friendly helpful support, where nothing was too much trouble, made a huge difference to me and made the "waiting time" so much more pleasant. I cannot speak too highly of the Hotel Manager and all the Team and would never consider staying anywhere else when in transit in Brisbane. Greg (Gregory Law)…
When I booked online through IBIS I was charged $149.74 for a nights accommodation. When I saw how tiny & poorly appointed the room was, I figured there must be a mistake. I inquired at the front desk as to how much these room generally cost & I was told $98 per night ? Ive been ripped off somewhere along the line. I realize these are budget digs & I have stayed in many abysmal motels over the years & can generally tolerate most conditions, but what really gets my dander up is poor water pressure. The shower in this place was either fitted with a dozen water savers or had a prostrate problem. After 10 minutes in the shower you still weren't wet. My advise stay elsewhere or stay dirty. PS have actually rated it 2 stars as the young lady at the counter was very helpful.
