So many Accor properties in Sydney that it feels like you have been to one that you have been to them all but was pleasantly surprised at this hotel tucked away near china town. Rooms were larger then expected, the pool was nicely heated and the overall stay was enjoyable.

Breakfast in the dining room was well presented and we appreciated the Barista coffee that was included. Staying with the family, the kids appreciated the small play area near reception and the location whilst quiet is very close to ChinaTown and Central station.

On the negative side, there was no food or drink available after 11:00pm and the main entry is via stairs with a not so welcoming alternative through the car park ramp.

All combined it was a good stay and whilst is not near the picturesque waterfront domains of Sydney, if you want to stay near Central station this would be a good option.

We stay here every time we go to Sydney because it's convenient and great value for money. If you fly to Sydney, you can catch the airport train to Central Station and walk almost completely undercover to the hotel. The hotel is in the heart of Chinatown with great dining options. We go to Sydney twice a year to watch the Tigers play at Leichhardt Oval and you can catch the light rail outside of Paddy's Markets (one block away) which takes you within a 10 min walk to the oval. Adding the breakfast package when booking is cheaper than purchasing when you get there and is great value. It includes a good quality hot and cold buffet breakfast and barista coffee of your choice. They'll even do your eggs any way you like including omelettes at no extra charge and deliver to your table. You can either walk or take the light rail to Darling Harbour and King Street wharf for great shopping and dining options as well as hop on a bus or heavy rail into the CBD.

I booked the King Suite for a night so we could cap off our night after dinner in the city.
I picked this hotel again due to its convenience of car park & proximity to trains / light rail , CBD, Chinatown, UTS & Darling Harbour,
The room was on the executive levels & was spacious, clean & modern with chocolates set out on a welcoming plate with complimentary bottles of water adjacent to them. These we consumed while getting ready for our night in the city. We were given complimentary welcoming drink vouchers for the bar down stairs which kicked off our night.
Staff are always extremely helpful & polite here.
Check out was a breeze & carpark discount was given & we were on our way.
Thank you Novotel staff for once again looking after us.

We stayed at the Novotel while I taught a PG program at UTS which is only a short walk away. When we arrived, the room that had been booked did not have a walk-in shower. My titanium knees no longer do showers over a bath.

Changing rooms was no problem which was great and we moved to the recently-renovated eighth floor. The rooms are pretty much standard for this type of hotel but we had the advantage of two double queen-size beds which gave us that little bit extra space.

The bathroom was something of an anomaly. Probably the smallest bathroom we have had outside the cramped conditions of French hotels. So small, you can't sit on the toilet and opened the bathroom door. Not that you need to but it is really cramped. The shower is also very small probably about 1 m².

Because UTS was paying for some of our stay and we were paying the rest, confusion naturally arose. The staff at Novotel were really tremendous at sorting out the problems including separating out the various bits and emailing them to me. Thank you very much.

The hotel is centrally located and many of the good restaurants in Surry Hills are accessible by taxi. There's not much on offer around the hotel and dining room serves what could best be described as basic pub food.

The smorgasbord breakfasts are excellent.

Our stay of two nights on Friday and Saturday came to $788 which it is easing above the average price for a room so you are paying for the central locality of this until when you book.

For people driving in to Sydney, there is a car park next door with direct access to the hotel which is also very convenient. Parking is $35 per and the hotel organises for your payment of the parking fees.

Stayed here for 4 nights with my family visiting Sydney for the first time. The rooms were very spacious, clean, and staff were all very nice. The Wi-Fi also worked very well. Location was amazing as the hotel was a few minute walk from Central Station allowing for train connectivity all over the city. It was also in the heart of Chinatown, offering a wide variety of Asian restaurants and stores to browse while also being
within a close walk to Darling Square/Harbour. It is on the further side of a walk from popular touristy places such as Sydney Opera House and Circular Quay, but you can take the tram that stops near the hotel that will take you there in around 10 minutes. One thing to note is that housekeeping did not clean our rooms unless we specifically requested it by putting the sign on the door handle so keep that in mind. Overall, a great stay at the Novotel and would stay here again if in Sydney.

We stayed here for two nights in January 2022. The location is outstanding: it was a short stroll to Central Station and we were able to get ourselves around easily from there. It was also a short distance down to Darling Harbour.
Whilst our room wasn’t the most updated place we have stayed, it was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and our bathroom had a very helpful antifog mirror and the towels were huge and fluffy. Our buffet breakfast was delicious and had something for everyone: bacon and eggs, pastries, fruit, pancakes etc.
It would have been helpful to have a powerpoint on both sides of the bed instead of just one but that’s fairly minor.
The staff were exceptional, both the desk staff and in the restaurant. In particular, Matt was really helpful and couldn’t do enough for us.
We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

Well I wasn’t looking forward to going into quarantine for 14 days, but after being away from home for 14 months and not being able to get home I was willing to put up with pretty much anything. I have only been here at Novotel one night and one day so far but if the other 13 days are as ok as the first I won’t complain. Meals aren’t huge but when you’re not doing anything and you can’t use any of your energy up for me it’s actually too much food. I can buy wine or beer if I so desire. There is coffee in the room and tea. The shower is hot, the toiletries are there. There is a laundry service that you can use, you can order take out food. Really what else do you need. There was not a balcony room available which I would’ve enjoyed however the room is more than large enough. At the moment I certainly don’t feel claustrophobic.
And the staff gave a sense of humour ...... see pic ☺️ it is the little things that sometimes mean the most.

Very disappointed after an amazing holiday to Tassie and staying in hotels all over this was our last stop and the worst and most expensive at $369 & $399 for our 2 rooms. We chose it as we needed to be close to the train station for the morning. Basic items such as shower cap and sanitary bags needed to be requested. However when ringing to housekeeping no answer for some time after several attempts and then needing to call reception. My parents room very dated with a shower over the bath no really suitable for the elderly. Our room seemed to have been renovated recently quite nice but again basic needs like a shelf in the shower for personal items such as face wash and own shampoo missing. Since we were tired we ate downstairs burn pizza and long delays. Do yourself a favour give it a miss if you are needing to be close to the train station. We saw a closer hotel to the station Sydney Central Hotel $100 cheaper and seemed much nicer.

Without doubt the hotel is perfectly located in walking distance to all main attractions. The location is amplified by access to a variety of food outlets including a supermarket on the same street. For the vegan traveller there are plenty of options.

The hotel staff were exceptional from the first start to finish and you really felt like a guest. The staff took the time to meet all of our needs, were knowledgeable about attractions and went above and beyond. Got a fabulous little note from the manager of the hotel to welcome my family.

The room was hygienic, modern and exceptionally clean with great views.

The food options were plentiful and the breakfast in the morning a great way to give you a boost of energy. Limited options for vegans but the staff made all necessary amendments and we had plenty of fresh fruit, hot vegetables and perfect coffee.

The gym located on the 7th floor has everything you need including 4 cardiovascular machines and a weights area. Dumbbell weights up to 20kg, cable machine and pin loaded leg press. Fresh water and towels provided. The pool was closed for maintenance but it's outdoors and private.

Overall this is a high quality hotel which I strongly gly recommend.

Hi Jenny!! Thank you for your enquiry and WOW how exciting a Christmas booking already :) 1) Limited rooms come with walk in showers. Please call the hotel to arrange. 2) The pool is heated and it is an outdoor pool so the heating will always be conditional of the weather 3) .... to be announced 4) Standard King and Queen rooms do not have balconies. King Balcony and Queen Balcony rooms will. We look forward to seeing you then and please dont hesitate to reach out to the hotel via phone to discuss futher.
