The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.

We’ve stayed at the Shangri-La Sydney on many special occasions over the last 12 years and it is truly a world class hotel. I’ve never rated it before but it would have received 5* for each of our previous visits. We booked a Horizon Club stay for Australia Day so we could see

The hotel is on amazing location right near to the bridge and the bridge climb so that is good....but the hotel is very dated it is extremely busy, in fact the reception area looks like an old ticket stand in 19 century train station. It is overwhelming when you get to the hotel

Did not meet expectations. Rooms were ‘ok’. We requested a Harbour view, and ended up with a partial view (if you stood in the far corner of the room, you could see the Harbour). If you visit the Blu bar on 36 floor, make sure and wear proper shoes. No flip flops. But apparently

The room, bathroom, views and balcony were out of this world. One of the highlights of our trip I' would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Cairns. The close proximity to the harbor and restaurants were great

Airport transportation is chargeable. Shangri La charge more - much more -than a taxi, and in our experience a taxi is just fine - metered - it will cost around aud 40 if memory serves, and there are plenty of them. The transportation rates by the shangri la are much more - but they meet you in arrivals with a sign with your name on if you do that

Hi, It's not included with the room. Hotel concierge can arrange the transportation for you. I am not sure about the cost from the hotel. Taxis are available 24 hours, but higher rates apply between 10pm and 6am. Taxis can be booked in advance by calling any one of several taxi networks.  Please enquire with the hotel staff for assistance.
