We stayed at Sandile's Rest in Log Cabin 4 over the weekend. What a spacious, clean and well appointed unit stocked with everything one might need for a self-catering stay. My partner was thrilled to be able to watch rugby on DSTV as well. Can't say enough about the warm welcome we got from our hosts, Andre and Maggie. The minor issue we had with the hot water was very quickly and inventively sorted out, which says a lot about the smooth running of the establishment. Although we didn't do any fishing, we walked around the property on our first day and did a longer, more challenging hike in the pine forest on the second. We will definitely be back.
I spent two nights at Sandile’s Rest and was blown away by this special place. The welcome received from Andre and Maggie was so warm, The cabin was something out of a fairytale and well equipped. Will definitely be back. The peaceful surroundings are magical, and oh so good for the soul! You have to visit this charming place! Highly recommend it! Perfect escape from everyday life.
Just an hours drive from East London, this gem of a place makes the ideal weekend getaway. We stayed for two nights over the long weekend in Cabin 5. The cabins are luxuriously kitted out - definitely justifying its 4 star rating - including a super deep bath and a log fireplace to enjoy the colder nights. Plentiful wildlife and lovely walks in the indigenous forest - highly recommended!
What a great place to go and recharge your batteries. Comfortable log cabins with all you need to cater for yourself. With natural forests right in front of the cabins bird life is plentiful. Close to the Kologha forests and the Amatola trail and with some short walks on the farm there is plenty to choose from if you want to hike. We will be back.
The log cabins are very well equipped and clean. We stayed in No.1 this time, which had an incredible view over the top dam with the forests rising in the background. The unit consisted of three bedrooms - two downstairs with doors opening onto the wooden deck and sharing a bathroom with a shower. The open-plan bedroom upstairs was superb with bath and shower. One can sit on the deck all day and drink in the peace and tranquility while watching the horses grazing and the birds hopping about. We also enjoyed our walks along the crystal-clear stream in the indigenous forest. Thank you Grant and Anne for sharing your beautiful area with us.
