It was everything we hoped for and lived up to its website pics. Beautifully renovated rooms, spectacular views from upstairs over the valley and town. Service was unintrusive yet available when needed. A definite stop-over en-route to Nambia and excellent weekend breakaway.

My wife and I spent a night over at the family run Feathers inn, and loved every second of it!!!. The owners, George and Nola made our stay unforgettable, and everywhere you go in this beautiful guest house, you can see the love and the time taken to rebuild and decorate this amazing old building. Their restaurant, Archers bistro, is without a doubt the only place to eat dinner in Piketberg. The owner George is the chef and prepares mouthwatering steaks..among other wonderful dishes. Be sure to try the chili chocolate Creme Brule! The same can be said for their coffee shop that serves lovely breakfasts and amazing cakes made by their daughter Claire.
The room we stayed in (Rooster) was lovely, spacious, spotless, and beautifully decorated.
There really is only one venue in Piketberg and that is Feathers Inn. Thank you to Geroge, Nola, Warren and Claire for an amazing stay....Highly recommended.

We had a comfortable nights stay at Feathers Inn, in Room 7. It contained a queen size bed, wardrobe, desk and tv, and also a mini bar fridge. Air conditioning worked well and our room was lovely and warm. Bed felt abit hard at first but it was very comfy and we had a really good nights sleep. The bathroom was quite large containing a large shower, claw footed bath, toilet and pedestal basin. Nice renovated. George made us feel welcome and was very friendly. There are rooms upstairs or on ground floor as ours was.

My wife and I frequently ply the N7 route between Cape Town and the Namibian border and are constantly on the lookout for good (and new) places to dine and stay. As such, we were delighted to find the recently renovated Feathers Inn and decided to spend the night there.

The hotel was relatively empty (April 2012) yet we were allocated, in our opinion, one of the worst rooms in the hotel. This was because, as the owner put it, it was "the easiest room to turn over" - not a great introduction!

Our experiences of the owner, George, are not as positive as those of the other reviewers. Having tolerated some 45 minutes of distasteful rudeness from him post settling into the room, we decided that such management behaviour was unacceptable, collected our bags and left in search of alternative accommodation. This proved a wise decision as we had a most enjoyable evening at the Eendekuil Hotel (now no longer a hotel) where Magda's (the owner) hospitality was the complete antithesis of that experienced at Feathers.

We continue to make our frequent journey's along the N7 and continue our search for good eateries and decent places to rest. So saying, we recently discovered Hebron at the top of the Piekenierskloof Pass (outside Citrusdal) where their food was excellent and the owner engaging. Never again will we return to Feathers.

We had a two-night stay at Feathers Inn, arriving late afternoon without a prior booking. George was very welcoming, and offered us a suite at a slight discount, as we were staying the two nights. Our accommodation was clean and comfortable, with an enormous flat-screen TV. We opted to have breakfast in town, as we wanted to explore. George recommended a visit to Riebeek Kasteel, which was well worth it. We would stay at Feathers again.

WORST Bed & Breakfast experience of my life.

When I first checked in the owner (George Fletcher) told me to keep an eye on my valuables cause his workers are okay but will steal money if you leave it (not a good sign). Because of this I had to hide my valuables and my xbox console every time I left the room.

The website won't tell you but you're not allowed to eat in the room (that's why their is no microwave, couch or even fridge in your room).

The owner is rude, petty and authoritative. I used the extra blanket on the spare bed since the heater was broken and he swore me out for using an extra blanket. The bin in the room wasn't empty and he cursed at me for using the bathroom bin. The TV was on a rolling stand so I moved it slightly forward to plug in my x-box one. George (owner) then swore me out for moving his furniture.

Lastly, some of my hair product got on his linen pillowcases and he tried to kick me out at 5 pm unless I paid him R276 for 2 new pillow cases. I was forced to agree and pay him since it was such short notice and late in the evening but I first had listen to George's cursing and insulting me before I could even get out of my vehicle.

I do not recommend this place. It was truly the worst experience I've had at a Bed & Breakfast.

We popped in here for a beer at the deli after a long, strenuous hike in the Cederberg Wilderness, and it was such a lovely place to find. From the friendly welcome, to the cat and the sunny veranda we were offered a seat on to sip our craft beers. They sell coffee beans and the breakfast on the chalkboard looked good too. This place could easily do well in a place like Cape Town!

My wife and I made Feathers the last overnight stop on the return leg of our Namibia trip.

The Inn was easy to find, immaculate and beautifully restored. The owner having lived in the area over 10 years is a wealth of information on things to do in and around Piketberg. He also makes the perfect fried egg out of his well stocked deli, stocking mostly local produce with great banting options.

The inn has an adjoining steakhouse with a well stocked bar where we had a late dinner and a quiet drink before walking up to our room.

All in all I would recommend this for a romantic weekend away or to host a function such as a wedding.

The rooms are very comfortable and owner very accommodating.

- we really struggled to find this specific accommodation - when we googled "accommodation in piketberg" we were referred to many B&B but not Feathers Inn - maybe revisit your accessibility via google?

We had a brilliant stay!

Highly recommended!!!

For anyone looking for a great stay in Piketberg, I can honestly say the Feathers Inn Guest house is an excellent choice. We were spoiled by great service, beautiful big rooms, amazing food at the restaurant and friendly smiles all weekend for our stay. Great guest house!
