As the evening sky turns into a red glow you sit back, high above the river, enjoying a chilled drink while listening to the deep grunt of hippos – this experience awaits you on the sundowner deck of Namushasha River Lodge on the Kwando River in eastern Caprivi. Situated 24 km south of Kongola, it is the perfect stop-over en route to the Victoria Falls. Apart from 24 rooms in chalets the lodge consists of a restaurant, a bar and a swimming pool. Watch elephant, hippo, buffalo or sable antelope on our excursions by boat or off-road vehicle, visit a traditional village in the vicinity or take time to observe the colourful birdlife (more than 400 species). A camping site for 16 tents pitched on lawn is also available at Namushasha.

Stopped off here for lunch, Game Salad followed by ice cream, absolutely delicious. To drink I had a Rock Shandy very refreshing. Set in stunning grounds and amazing scenery. Very clean toilets. Staff friendly and helpful. On a hot dry and dusty drive a great place to stop.

Spent one night here. Was super expensive but worth it. Especially the tour is very expensive, but at least we saw some lions etc. House was super luxurious, clean and nice. Breakfast extremely slow but good. Dinner expensive but superb. Ok for one night. Did not see any elephants unfortunately. Beautiful views. Animals everywhere including monkeys, hippos and crocs. Bit difficult to reach.

At Namushasha Camp site we were very private among all the trees. There are lots of birds, for the bird watchers. All the camp sites do not face the river, but number 1 and 2, where we camp, do face the river. Ablution facilities are very good. The hippos often visited the Lodge.

Beautiful lodge with friendly staff, especially the glamping tents is very nice and private. The breakfast is very good. Some of the luxury rooms dont have shade on their patios, which is not very nice in the afternoon because of the sun

Our Gondwana experiences have always been great. The staff are friendly, hospitable and helpful. The lodge manager, Irwin, goes out of his way to make ones stay memorable. The nature around the lodge is magnificent, seeing fireflies in Namibia for the first time was amazing.

The campsites are very large & green with a good, private shower building. Hot water shower via donkey which is set for you each day. You could play football on some of the sites quite easily. The food in the hotel is of very good quality & the cappuccinos also. It's not cheap here but good value for money. Friendly staff all round. easy parking by the hotel & on your site.

Always a welcoming experience with great hospitality. Old world lodge style with brilliant views overlooking the Kwando River and marshes. Enjoyed a family unit with large interleading rooms and a verandah overlooking the river. A brilliant stopover between Rundu and Katima Mulilo.

Our trepidation in staying in a boutique chain lodge was totally dispelled by the superb staff lead by Oxford-matriculated manager Reily. They take to our needs, including a special bowl of oak meal porridge for me the next morning when she heard about my routine at home. Wow! The lodge is top top, and sundowner cruise was fantastic,

The Lodge was the best we had during our holiday. Very friendly staff and extremely delicious food. The staff sang lovely birthday songs, which is very attentivr. The safaris with boat or Jeep were very good, we saw many animals.
