My sister and I stayed here for a couple nights in August. What a beautiful hotel! The owner is an interior designer and you can see how each room has its own unique character but also feels a part of the whole. The pool area is gorgeous and you can see why the hotel is often used as a location set for wedding photography. We were so well looked after by Riz and Joy. They were amazing! We had a really lovely stay.

As soon as we pulled up to the gates I knew this hotel was going to be special.
The exterior is gorgeous. It has a garden area and parking for guests.
The pool area is simply stunning. The water was too cold for us to use but I'd imagine in summer the pool will be a highlight of the hotel.
We had a beautiful room overlooking the pool area. It had tv with satellite channels, a fridge, tea/coffee making facilities and minibar. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was very spacious with his & her basins, a large bath tub and separate shower room.
The staff were really nice and very helpful.
The breakfast was also very nice and plentiful.
This hotel has a quiet, peaceful atmosphere and I would highly recommend it.

Tucked away in a quiet Rondebosch street, this beautiful hotel exceeded all expectations. From the helpful and friendly check-in through to the effortless check-out, my stay here was one of the highlights of my stay in the Cape. Breakfast was superb in a dining area adjacent to an indoor pool. The hotel boasts its own generator, so the pesky electrical load shedding that plagues South Africa is not a problem. Looking forward to my next stay, already booked for April.

1.Breakfast was not up to standard. I think the problem was that the poor staff member in charge had to fulfill the roles of chief cook and bottle washer as well as managing the establishment. Cornflakes were stale, Grape-fruit wilted and toast burnt. Bacon on the first day was inedible, it appeared to have been reheated in a microwave. 2. Initially there were no steps or pool ladder in place. I as an 80-year old had to lower myself and pull myself out of the pool. Tiles used around pool dangerously slippery. There were no staff available at the time.

Response from banksia, Owner at Banksia Boutique
Responded 09 Jan 2020
Dear Ms Steyn It is with great sadness that we receive your review for your unsatisfactory stay at Banksia Boutique. Banksia Boutique is managed by three Managers. Two of which are on duty for the majority of days - ensuring special attention is given to every aspect of a guests stay. Together with a Manager, a dedicated Chef and assistant are responsible for the preparing and serving of breakfast. In saying this however, our Chef did unexpectedly fall ill one morning, and our Manager took over from her in preparing breakfast. Our breakfasts are freshly cooked and prepared immediately on order. By no means are items "re-heated" in a Microwave. My sincere apologies should you have been served "burnt toast" and experienced "stale" Cornflakes. This is totally unacceptable and will be taken up with our Chef. Also, our apologies for the Stairs being removed from the Swimming Pool momentarily to allow for the automatic pool cleaner to clean without becoming entangled in the Stairs. These Stairs are re-positioned immediately after cleaning is complete. Thank you again for your feedback. Kindest regards Shelley Dews DIRECTOR BANKSIA BOUTIQUE hotel & spa

We selected this hotel because of a previous recommendation and because of its proximity to UCT. I can honestly say that I have never had a better experience. The hotel itself is beautiful and felt like a home away from home. The breakfasts were outstanding. For me what always sets accommodation apart is the people working there and we could not have asked for better. They couldn’t do enough for us and really went the extra mile to make sure we were always comfortable and had everything we required, even operating under Covid restrictions. So to Joy, Rizea, Nombo, Zoliswa and Khanyiswa, thank you for your warm welcome and I look forward to seeing you all again when I return.

I travel nearly every week of my life and so I know world-class service when I experience it. The Banksia staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome, comfortable and at home. This hotel is such a unique property in a fantastic quiet location. It is extremely clean and comfortable. Rizea and Joy went out of their way to make sure that I had everything that I needed during my stay. Thank you very much!!! It is definitely at the top of my list of hotels in Cape Town.

Very comfortable and well located accommodation, with beautifully appointed bedrooms and common spaces. The hosts Joy and Rizea were very welcoming and present, and the breakfast offering is quite a spread!

However, the spa was a disappointment. The spa’s advertised trading hours over public holidays are 9 am to 5 pm and yet the spa was closed on 01 and 02 Jan 23 (public holidays), as well as on 03 Jan 23 (a normal trading day, with advertised trading hours of 8 am to 7 pm). The property description indicates that the spa is part of the hotel offering and yet I found that the spa and the hotel are separate businesses and I had to contact the spa directly to confirm trading hours during my stay and to check availability for a booking. The spa mobile and fixed line numbers were switched off with no Out of Office information available, either on-site, on voice mail or on the Booking.com hotel description site through which I made my hotel booking. The spa has one therapist only which explains the curtailed actual trading hours so advance confirmed bookings over week ends would be an imperative to enjoy the integrated hotel & spa offering.
Fortunately there are a number of other spa options in close proximity to the hotel so one can enjoy the hotel for its own charm and pleasant experience.

We loved the „grand hotel heftige style“. Our room had an amazing, spacious balcony with incredible view of table mountain and lots of afternoon/evening sun.

We booked our last night there to be close to the airport in the morning. It took about 10
Min to the airport - very convenient. Secure parking. We did not habe breakfast due to an early flight but enjoyed the tea, fresh milk and rusks provided in the room

What a heart warming experience this was. I was booked in for 2 nights (13-15 September 2023) and I must say, I cannot wait to return! The weather was off at the time plus load shedding BUT the hotel had a back-up as well as electric blankets. It is also the small things: the warm welcome and authentic conversation with the reception lady (sorry I forgot her name but she is Coloured) upon arrival, the rusks and coffee, attention at breakfast etc. Did I mention the interior? A masterpiece. See you soon!

This was my first time staying at the Banksia Boutique Hotel, and I will definitely be staying here as a first choice in the future. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the decor and feel of the hotel make it a real home away from home. The staff are attentive to your individual needs and will seek to cater to them as far as possible, as was the case when I couldn't make breakfast on one of the morning due to early meetings but had packed breakfast waiting for me in line with my dietary preferences. Food is meticulously prepared and very tasty. I must thank Riz and her team for their efforts, their friendliness and for making my stay an exceptional one.
