Detailed Reviews
I spent a first class week at Roodenburg House. It’s location was ideal -15 minutes walk from Newlands cricket ground and roughly 15 minutes drive from the Waterfront and central Cape Town. Being in the southern suburbs it is also close to Kirstenbosch gardens and an easy drive south to Nordhoek or Simonstown and the Cape. My room was very comfortable and well equipped. It was quiet and overlooked the property’s pool. The breakfast were plentiful and well presented. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and welcoming staff team.

Roodenburg House was a great choice for a small meeting - there were four of us, but it could probably stretch to 6 or 8. It was quiet, private, light and very comfortable. The staff are very helpful - they set up the room and catered an excellent and generous coffee break. One of the group was from out of town and stayed over the night before in a lovely room. The location was perfect for participants coming from the airport and various parts of the city. I recommend it, not just as a guesthouse but also as a meeting venue.

Nothing to fault really. Excellent location with a couple of restaurants in walking distance, either toward Newlands or into Rondebosch. (It was perfectly safe to walk around at night, it's just a pity more people don't do it).
I found it a little unusual that we had to pre-order breakfast each evening, specifically the time we'd want it. The breakfast itself was good, but very limited. A full English is nice for a morning or two but I don't think it'd be that difficult to offer alternatives, especially with it being per-ordered. e.g. pancakes (which I did ask for, but not available).
Anyway, more importantly, the room was large, with plenty of storage space, and clean and comfortable too. There was ample parking as well. I'd certainly stay here again.

The house is located on the slope of a mountain with spectacular views of Simonstown's harbor and Falsebay and is quite sheltered from the wind!
Even though there are quite a lot of stairs to get to the house the hospitality and excellent service was a warm welcome.
We were six people and brought along a blow-up matress since there was only two bedrooms, however upon arrival they quickly organised another ensuite room without a fuss.
The house is tidy and clean and has all the ammenities needed (even the pool is heated).
We had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend it!

This is a wonderful boutique hotel. A very warm welcome received from the great staff and owner.
Relaxed, clean, and well situated for cricket ground, 15 minute walk. Nothing too much trouble. Lovely breakfast.
The hotel also recommended a taxi driver who was really friendly, helpful and reliable.
We had a great stay thanks to those at the hotel and we look forward to staying again soon! Thank you

A cozy and quiet place to stay with very good service and excellent breakfasts. We came in the winter so could not enjoy the patio and pool which appeared lovely. The room was otherwise comfortable with good climate control but I would have liked a comfortable chair to sit in in the room. We were able to walk to restaurants for dinner. The location was central to the two days of business we were in Cape Town for and served well for touring the sights by car. I much preferred this guesthouse to a stay in a hotel.

Roodenburg House is furnished and decorated well. The location was ideal for a business trip to Cape Town. Wifi was too slow and unreliable for making business video calls, so we had to rely on our own mobile data.
Breakfast was good but took time which is in short supply when you are not on holiday.

This B and B is so warm. It is quaint and splendid. It is surprisingly homely. The bathroom was perfect. It was clean and modern. The water pressure was ok, it could be better. But I am being pedantic. The breakfast is delicious and filling. I wish I could have stayed longer. The price is very reasonable. I highly recommend this place for a person travelling alone or as a couple. They will enjoy it. The staff was sooo friendly. Phillip was really helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The airconditioner is phenomenal. I am not overselling this place. Check-in. You will not regret it.

Lovely stay, very convenient location with easy access. Friendly and flexible team, breakfast very good, room spacious with lots of sunshine and everything you need. Highly recommend. Suggest to provide some info on local area and dining recommendations on arrival and to open the bar and outdoor area in the evenings. The garden and pool area looks beautiful.

The "garden paradise suite" we booked was actually a tree facing a six lane motorway, quite disappointing. Max of the staff was five star all around, vewry helpful. The rest of the team was very friendly but somewhat unorganized. Pool wasn't in function for a week. Room change was not accepted.
