Detailed Reviews
We stayed at Oewerbos as the Namibian Accommodations at Noordoewer were fully booked. Road to the Accommodation is in a bad condition. We stayed in a bungalow which was clean and spacious. Meals we ordered at the own "Restaurant" at Oewerbos and everything from Burgers to Pizza was delicious. My son enjoyed the different activities as fishing, canoe riding and swimming.

There's not much you could want on the banks of the Oranje River and not get at Oewerbos Lodge.
Never mind the well maintained accommodation and the best pizza around (which is prepared and served with much love if you don't demand to have a pizza an hour before the kitchen opens and then treat one of the owners as a serving wench @ wilbur review), Neville and Diana, the owners, are two of the most genuine and generous people you will ever meet. From help with 4x4 issues to preparing special birthday cakes, there is nothing they are unwilling to assist with. Diana is boisterous and colorful and we love her for it.
We never spend time on this stretch of the River without a stay at Oewerbos and frequent visits to enjoy the company and the pizza.

We stayed 2 nights in a safari tent during a long weekend. The tent is on the banks of the Orange river. Cell phone reception is very poor in the area but luckily Wifi is available at restaurant. Pizza is very good and they have a well stocked bar. Service a little slow when it gets very busy. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

We arrived after checking telephonically that accomodation was available.
Rooms were clean, but no key to lock room. No coffee or tea in room as per website.
Ordered pizza at 18H30, waited 2 hours for it to be served.
No barman on duty.
Room rate only shared with us upon check out, we did request it at check in. Room rate at R770 pppn on the expensive side for a vey basic room with no wi fi or TV.

Love staying at Oewerbos, even if just for a day or few days. Lovely accommodation and great food at the bar. Owners Diana and Neville always ensure that your stay is memorable with excellent service. Definitely a must visit if you travel to and from Namibia.

Our family’s first “camping” experience. We loved every moment. Amazing restaurant run by Diane ( she is a true gem). Rooms were basic and clean. There was plenty for the kids to keep themselves busy. Thank you for a perfect holiday

We camped at Oewerbos. Firstly, to get the booking finalized took forever. They are just not efficient and helpful. I needed to call and email several times just to confirm my booking.
Secondly, we were the only non-whites at this place, and they made it feel like we were not welcome. I think the reason why we even got the booking in the first place is because of my surname. They did not expect to see a person of color showing up. We were completely ignored when we went to the bar/kitchen area, and when they finally did notice us, the service was unfriendly, irritated and it took a long time just to receive our order.
Thirdly, the camping utilities facilities (fridges) were not in working condition as they promised, so we ended up having to throw away our food and needed to spent money at their kitchen, completely throwing out our budget. When we inquired about this, we were just completely ignored.
It is a beautiful place indeed, but it seems the ONLY way you will ever feel comfortable or enjoy it is if you are a non-black person. We will never go back there again.

Although the setting is idilic our stay was less than. We arrived around lunch and was received very friendly. But later the afternoon a group of people arrived, loud music, lewd language and a cacophony of noice followed until around 2:00 AM.
I suggest the owners take down the notice at the entrance that says no noise and loud music as this is not enforced. Bathrooms also not exceptionally clean.

A group of us stayed at Oewerbos in June and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! The camping grounds are neatly kept and provide far more than what one would expect from a campsite at the rates we payed. Neville and his team were very hospitable and made our stay something to remember.

Honestly just the most incredible place, I fell in love with the place from the moment I walked in, incredible hospitality, the food and service is fantastic! I will highly recommend this place to everyone, no other lodge I’ve been to comes close to them! Seriously worth every cent!

Not excellent but you can fish
Yes, there are camping facilities. They are located behind the tented camps, so I don't know if they have a view to the river. I don't know what Suresh means, so for more info visit their website. I can't publish it here so make a google search for Oewerbos River Camp and you'll easily find it. :-)
