Guide: Our guide was Stefan, who is brilliant in tracking and providing information. We saw four of the big five, didn't see the Leopard, but hardly surprising as they are an elusive and solitary animal. We saw Cheetah mother with her two cubs, White Rhino with young calf and Giraffe with young calf. And so many other animals and experiences. Room: I was in room 38. It was light and airy. The bed and pillows were of the utmost comfort. The room was always kept spotless by my cleaning team (Brother and Sister). Loved the shower. Gardens: Always immaculate and colourful. Gardeners constantly tending to the grounds, which had lots of animals in residence. Restaurants: Food was superb, whether in the Boma (outside restaurant) or the main restaurant. Lots of choice at each meal.

We had such an amazing time at Mabula. Matimba Our guide for our stay was Matimba and he was so friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the reserve and the animals that live upon it. His tracking skills were unbelievable and we managed to see so many animals when our on safari. Matimba is an excellent guide and would answer any question we had. Accommodation Our room was perfect size for just me and husband staying. My only suggestion would be I wish we had cheat of drawers or some place better to store our clothes as I felt the clothes being on show made room look messy - I did massively overpack though!!! Although our Maid always did a great job at tidying and cleaning the room every day I do feel bad she had to sort out clothes too. Food I loved the food at

We stayed for a week at Mabula Lodge with Saga. The lodge exceeded all expectations. Clean modern room, excellent choice of superb quality food and friendly helpful staff. Apollo our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and made sure we saw as many animals as possible, going the extra mile to give us the best experience. We saw all the big five except the elusive leopard. We also saw a cheetah and her cubs, and rhino and hippos with their young. We had very close viewings of many animals including the lions.

Fantastic safaris. Saw the big 5. The accommodation was also very good. Air conditioned. Nice big twin bedded room, with fridge plenty of bottled water. An easy to use safe, hair dryer. Lovey hot showers. We were in room 66, quite a long walk but once we remembered the way it was easy! Lovely swimming pool BUT it hadn't warmed up, we tried it once but was really cold. Nice surroundings, with a bar. This was an all inclusive holiday. The food was good but sadly never hot enough. There was plenty of choice and the hot food was on induction warmers so there was no reason for the food to be tepid or cold. I wasn't the only one to complain, such a shame. It did get resolved but it was a shame for us. The jeep drivers were very good and very informative and so observant. They looked

Had a lovely week here. Travelled solo with Saga group. Good room and bed and bathroom but had to ask for a chair to be put on the terrace. Excellent guides who were really keen to show you the wildlife. Reserve is about one third the size of Dartmoor so enough varied countryside for a number of animals to roam in natural surroundings but obviously a different experience to the large expanse of Kruger. The lions are kept in an adjoining fenced reserve so as to avoid conflict with the time share properties on the main reserve.I believe the big animals could be tracked down by their tag in an emergency but the guides are given a rough location and then have to find them by tracking which makes the experience more rewarding when the animals ARE found. Food was excellent in

The safari drives were amazing and Mpho was an excellent guide. The venue is bigger than I expected and, on the whole, very well organised. All the staff were friendly and helpful. My only criticism is the food. Whilst there was a good choice of food, sometimes in the evenings it would run out (not re-filled) and more often than not the food which was supposed to be hot wasn't! The best meal was breakfast by far closely followed by the salad bar at lunchtime. Staff need to be quicker at supplying clean plates/bowls and re-filling food recepticles.

The safari aspects of Mabula are good and make the trip worthwhile. The eating experience was less good unless you get into the restaurant as soon as it opens (which we did not). Hot food was often cold and choice was limited BUT we did not go for the gastronomic experience - and we did not go hungry. Saw all 5 of he big 5 and plenty of others, so absolutely no complaints on the main reason for our trip - which was to see the animals

Just returned from Mabula with our son and daughter in law. We could not have asked for anything more. Wonderful service, great food and the most amazing guides. We had Kg, Ben, Isiah and 2 others. All were extremely knowledgeable friendly and great at finding the animals. Our highlights were a very close encounter with the Lions, watching the cheetah cubs at play and stalking a rhino and her young on foot.

We had a lovey stay at Mabula.  It's a beautiful lodge. Our room was spacious and comfortable with modern bathroom.   The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing. Our game drives were interesting, and our guide was very knowledgeable and did his best searching for the animals. We will be back.

I did my first solo traveller experience at Mabula Lodge in August 2023 and I couldn't fault it. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, bathrooms very modern and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing. I booked with Newmarket Holidays and the only slight issue during the whole trip was upon arrival at the aiport i struggled to find the transport representative. I had numerous safaris and experiences included in my holiday. The guides on the safaris were very knowledgeable and friendly and I couldn't fault them. We got to see 4 out of the big 5, with the leopard being the only animal we missed out on. It was lovely to see the guides getting just as excited as the guests when searching for the animals. Would highly recommend and would be happy
