Absolutely spoilt by the team at Kwafubesi - thank you for a magical weekend of incredible food, game drives & down-time. This was our second time visiting Kwafubesi and it's safe to say, we can't wait to be back!
Would highly recommend Kwafubesi for a group up to 10 or less. Excellent secluded accommodation in the heart of the bushveld. Very professional staff and great sightings including Lions with cubs, Cheetah with cubs, and the usual hippos, buffaloe, giraffe and elephants etc, and not too far from Johannesburg.
The experience was excellent. Not only a home away from home but also an incredible experience that not only offered best hospitality service but top class camping experience. The time we visited was complimented by the weather that gave us an opportunity to cuddle extra.
What an amazing time we had as friends at Kwafubesi Tented Safari Camp. The food, the food, the food, game drives, friendliness of staff and an overall wonderful experience. The check in and check out was easy with super friendly staff.
During a recent trip to South Africa I took my 83 year old mother to Kwafubesi for some bonding time. The staff were incredible and could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Added to this, the food, cooked by chef Johannes, was a five star culinary experience. Our game ranger, Musa, was knowledgeable, friendly and an amazing help to me. The accommodation is in five tents located at various locations in the camp, to ensure privacy and an intimate experience. The beds and linen were outstanding. Super comfortable! Thank you to Johannes and Margaret, who ensured an altogether special experience.
Tents are simply too hot without aircon, fans seem to circulate the hot air There should be a mosquito net in each tent Ranger was not interactive at all - did not enjoy our game drives Please try to improve on cutlery, get proper streak knives - difficult eating meat on Boma evening Cocktails not available - not everyone is a beer, whiskey, wine or gin drinker Sadly no milkshakes served!
We just LOVED the Mabula reserve and Kwafubesi Tented Camp! From the comfort of the tents- the best sleep I've had in years!- to the delicious food cooked by Chef Anna, to the wonderful staff- call out to Margaret and Johannes- and of course, the reserve and animal sightings! We loved that there are 2000 hectors for the lions and antelope, while another 10,000 is for the elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, buffalo, etc...We saw all of them in a weekend and just loved it! We are expats living in Joburg and we rarely say we will go back to a lodge because we want to see everything. We do know, however, that we will go back to this camp. It was THAT GREAT!
Excellent food; professional, friendly and attentative staff; private and beautiful facility and accommodation. Lovely game drives twice daily with Musa, our guide, being very informative and going out of his way to accommodate us. This was a very unique and special experience- we will treasure every moment. Thank you again!
Comfortable tents (for the time of the year. In full summer a different story, as there are no air conditioners in the tents). Food was good, portions a little too large at lunch, and too small at dinner. Great staff and guides. We loved spending the day at the pool. Kids want to go back asap!
Spent 4 glorious days at Kwafubesi. The service is out of this world. The staff are focused on service excellence and they go the extra mile with a smile. Tents are comfortable and all you need. What a pleasure to sleep in beautiful white linen in a soft bed and that in the middle of the bush. A special thanks to Musa our game ranger who knows Mabula so well. He is knowledgeable, friendly and very attentive. Our waitresses Mpho and Margaret. Thanks Ladies, great service! And last but not the least, camp manager Marguerite Strydom- thanks for everything you did for us. You went out of your way to make our stay memorable. Great, friendly service!!! Thanks so much. We hope to be back soon.
