We came here after 4 days in national parks in Swaziland, with no energy, electric light, shaving possibilities, therefore we were very happy despite tented camp facilities that we have all again: fridge, air con, electricity, big room, well sorted kitchen, wow ! The owner was very nice, she gave us several advice, breakfast was good, due to a tour we had no dinner but they brought us all in the fridge and we could warm it up with microwaves.
There are two major options there: a turtle „hunt“ and a boat trip! Please take the boat trip, we were booked for turtles but it was sheer horror: a group of over 20, one guide was ill, therefore only one other, were waiting for a turtle coming to shore to lay eggs. Group was told to be calm, no lights, etc, but some needed one more selfie before they die, no discipline, 20 idiots standing around one poor turtle, laying eggs in fear, agony, pain and stress!! We have been ashamed of ourselves and would never do this again, a boat tour around three lakes would have suited us more!

We had an amazing visit, staying here we really experienced the Kosi Bay area. Annalize, Sybil and Hendrik were absolutely wonderful hosts that went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay.
The tent was awesome, very luxurious with a bathroom en suite.. We had a very comfortable queen bed with crisp white cotton bedding. There are mosquito nets over all windows and doors and to top it all a very effective air conditioner, therefore no problems with any sort of bugs and pests. There was also a fully equipped small Kitchenette and a braai and fire pit outside. The deck area was brilliant for sitting and watching the birds and listening to the bush sounds.
There is also a pool with many different areas to sit and relax. The restaurant is next to the pool and the meals that Hendrik cooked for us were very tasty including a special south african braai with all the trimmings and also a fish braai.
Annalize also books tours for guests. We did the Snorkeling Tour and saw many tropical fish, lion fish, many eels and octopus. We also did the evening Turtle Tracking Tour and were very privileged to see a turtle laying eggs.
We definitely hope to return in the future. Anyone looking for a great escape in the Kosi area with all the comforts, this is the place for you!

Next to Kosi Bay, close access to the lakes and estuary, organised tours to the turtle beaches, snorkel the estuary, hop over the border for prawns at Ponta. The accomodation with self contained kitchen and bathroom, and very comfortable bed was great. The pool is outstanding, and the bar/restaurant pool flow are very relaxed. There are some covered reading rooms /chill areas with comfortable armchairs, covered if it rains but open to the warm humid breeze. And the rooms have aircons if you want, but we prefer the breeze. Very pleasant staff, can't do enough for you to have a great stay, but equally happy for you to just chill out, relax and enjoy their spot in Kosi Bay.

The photos on the website are not a true representation of the facilities. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The communal bathroom/toilets are not clean and need to be cleaned more regularly.
There was not enough crockery and cutlery in the luxury unit. The breakfast was not great. The bread was stale. Access to the facilities is by 4 x 4 wheels.

Hosted by Sybil who couldn't do enough for us. Comfortable tent with all facilites. Delicious fresh well cooked meals. An attentive, caring hostess who went the extra mile for us. Excursions from here are easily arranged and are value for money, with knowledgeable guides. Hatching turtles are a memorable experience.

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely camp. The Safari tents are ensuite and even have a solid built kitchenette not that we could motivate ourselves to cook with the excellent food offered by the lodge.
Kosi Bay is a lovely area to explore with the lake system, forest walks, Kosi Bay mouth and an interesting town nearby .
The liege is clean comfortable and safe.
Staff were very attentive and went out of their way to ensure we made the most of our visit.
Add to that excellent value and we would defiantly recommend visiting for at least 5 days.

We were told that this is a “tea garden”, so we were expecting tea and scones. It is however a restaurant, not a tea garden, with a full menu. As we went after lunch, we only had sweet treats - waffles, brownies and milk tart. While no one rated the waffle, the brownie and milk tart were good. There is also a gorgeous pool for a dip whip you wait for your food. The restaurant is really beautiful and creates a real “beach” feel. The owners are also super friendly and helpful, giving us excursion advise and helping us book a fishing boat trip even though we were not even staying there.

Our stay at Kingfisher BUsh Lodge was short but fantastic, our hosts were exceptional. The tented chalet was well apppointed, clean and airconditioned a treat in Kosi over December. The kids had a blast too.

We loved the tented cabin. The lodging has a good kitchen and bath attached to the sleeping area which had room for a sofa for indoor days. We took all of our meals on the outdoor covered porch that also had an adjacent braii. We particularly liked the tented aspect of the lodging; at night having the flaps open to catch the breeze gave us a nice feel of being outside - but not camping.

Other visitors should know that the restaurant and bar operates only on demand. This is a quiet place and most guests self cater as we did. In other words, it is not a fancy lodge with a lively night life at the bar. That said, it is quiet, the restaurant area and outdoor lounges had comfortable areas for sitting and to use the internet. The best part was the very helpful and friendly staff. W needed help booking tours, and the staff also helped with my phone issues and in pumping a flat tire our last morning. Not enough good things could be said about their helpfulness!
Note that the road into the lodge is a bit rough without a four-wheel drive. This is not easy to find, but the entire area around Kosi Bay is remote.

Everything abut this place is super. We stayed in a luxury tent with a gorgeous view over fields and trees. Tent is perfect, everything you could want to feel comfortable and also feel like camping! Air conditioning in a tent - the best. I liked that there aren't that many units so it's very quiet and homely feeling, Bar, restaurant and pool area are also very nice, and you can eat all your food there is you don't want to use the kitchen in the tent. There's an extra pool at the back too. Atmosphere is very relaxed and the whole family very welcoming and on hand to advise and address any problems. Great for children, they have space to run and explore to run, a fluffy dog to play with and a trampoline to jump on, as well as the pool. I recommend taking a lake trip with Rasta - his family have been fishing the lakes for generations and he has a deep knowledge of the area in terms of nature and Tonga culture. Kingfishers is located very close to the park entrance too, so you can walk to it if you like, or take a little stroll down the track to the nearest spaza shop. We'll be back!
