Visited the Pioneer Beach in early March for our honeymoon. Excellent check-in, with sparkling wine and Cypriot Delights on arrival, and a bottle of house red and a selection of fruit waiting for us in the room. As we visited for our honeymoon, the hotel manager gave us a free room upgrade which was amazing. We were upgraded to a junior suite, which had nice views over the hills and villages of Cyprus, with sunrise views in the morning. Nice to sit on the balcony with a coffee (coffee machine in room) and watch the sun come up. Towels changed daily and fluffy bathrobes and slippers provided.

Great selection at the buffet breakfast-something for everyone, and the omelette station cooked made to order omelette which my husband very much enjoyed!

Never had any trouble getting a sun-lounger, and the hotel provide pool and beach towels. The beach is cleared of seaweed each morning which made for lovely sea swims. Inside pool was a lovely temperature and the outside pool was lovely to cool down in when getting to hot bathing in the 22 degrees!

Evening food was lovely. Great selection of Cypriot/ Greek cuisines as well as salads, curries and English meat and two veg. Good show cooking by excellent chefs.

All the staff at the hotel, particularly Sara in the restaurant, were fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble, always checking that everything was ok, and asking if we were having a nice honeymoon. Everyone was really friendly and they appreciated our attempts at please and thank you in Greek.

Evening entertainment was a little for the older generations, but we were probably the youngest couple in the hotel but we didn’t mind walking to the harbour for evening drinks etc. Lovely walk along the seafront to the harbour but it is approx 45 mins to walk there along the well maintained seafront.

The two TUI reps were lovely, again spent time chatting to us and checking we had everything we needed, recommending places to visit and the TUI excursions.

If you’re after a relaxing holiday with not much to do, this is the hotel for you.

We selected this hotel as it was a TUI BLUE, adults only and had great reviews. Our previous experience of TUI Blue had met our expectations and therefore to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we felt confident that this hotel would once again provide the wonderful experience that we had previously enjoyed. On arrival, we were greeted by Valia who welcomed us to the hotel. We told her that we were here to enjoy a wonderful holiday and also to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Following this she explained that our allocated room was on the ground floor; even though we had previously emailed and requested a sea view room on a higher floor. We were obviously disappointed and Valia immediately recognised this and she told us that she would do her utmost to give us a room that we would be happy with. We stayed in the original room for one night, before being upgraded to a Superior Deluxe Sea View room that was way beyond our expectations. Valia's excellent commitment to make us happy set the tone - with all the other amazing hard working and always friendly staff. Every member of staff, from the cleaners to front of house, made you feel very welcome. We would like to give a special mention to Christina, who always gave every guest a special welcome, whether this was for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Also we would like to say thank you to Flora, Vasila, Mikalis, Louisa, Nina, Natalia and all the dining staff. In addition to the bar staff who worked tirelessly and such long hours, bringing refreshing drinks to the beach for us throughout the holiday.
It is the staff that make this hotel so good.

The food is also very good with a great variety and the a la carte dining was exceptional. The filet mignon was the best I've ever had! At the Thassala buffet, we enjoyed our special table in the corner, next to the pizza oven every night, for us the evening was complete; the ambiance; the staff and the delicious food; and all in such a beautiful romantic setting.

There were of course guests who were comparing the choice of food to previous visits (pre-pandemic), however, when on holiday during a global pandemic we must be even more thankful to those who have worked untiringly in providing such a high level of safe service. Therefore, holidaying during COVID can in no way be compared with previous holiday experiences. We have never been to this hotel before and we were more than happy with the excellent food and service provided.
The only reason we have given this 4 and not 5 stars is the beach; lack of enforcement for dress code in the evening; and some updating needed in bedrooms.
We would happily recommend for a relaxing enjoyable holiday.

This hotel has to be right up there as one of the best I have stayed in so far, and I have stayed in many in various parts of the world.

From the moment my friend and I arrived the friendliness and hospitality was incredible. We were presented with a complimentary glass of fizz on arrival and the checking in process was speedy and efficient.

We were upgraded to a room with a sea view which was an unexpected bonus. The room was spotlessly clean with every amenity one could hope for and the attention to detail was evident and very much appreciated by us.

We had booked bed and breakfast but after a chat with the manager we upgraded to all inclusive which we are really pleased we did.

The food is fabulous, with a choice of food to delight all tastes. The choice of drinks includes premium brands not just local ones, which to my experience is fairly unusual. All the staff are so very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble.

The location of the hotel could be a little too isolated for many, but for us being right on the beach was perfect for a relaxing break. There are an abundance of sun loungers and outdoor tables and chairs so plenty of space available. We are here out of season so not sure what it would be like in the height of the summer.

To conclude, I cannot recommend this hotel and its staff highly enough and I will definitely be booking again in the not too distant future.

We had originally booked to visit in September 2020 but had to cancel due to covid. We finally got to visit in June 2022 and it was certainly worth the wait!

The hotel is located at the quieter end of Paphos, right on the beach, and there is not much in the way of shops and restaurants nearby. However, the hotel offered everything we required with one exception - ice creams! When I got my 3pm urge for a Magnum, we had a 10 minute walk to a supermarket on the main road. The shop in the hotel apparently used to sell ice creams before covid and the pool bar only offered bowls of plain ice cream. Apart from that, I could not fault the hotel.

The furnishings in our room were a little dated but we’re clean and functional and the bed was so comfortable. There was even an iron and board in the room, which is unusual for European hotels, and the bathroom was spacious with plenty of room for our toiletries. There was even an abundance of coat hangers in the wardrobe!

The choice of food at the breakfast and dinner buffet was immense (we stayed half board) and the freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast was delicious. We also ate lunch at one of the restaurants five times during our stay, which was very reasonably priced and tasty with a good selection.

The shop in the hotel was quite cheap for certain things, with cans of coke only €0.60 and large bottles of water at €0.75. There were plenty of sun loungers around the pool and on the beach and long pool towels were provided in our room. Pool bar staff were on hand to bring drinks and the charging card system avoided the need to carry cash round the hotel. It is a Tui Blue hotel and a variety of entertainment was provided in the evenings and other events during the day, such as pool exercises and quizes. We did walk to the harbour and back one day along the pathway which runs from the back of the hotel and it was a pleasant 50 minute stroll each way.

Although I thought Paphos as a resort was unexceptional, the Pioneer Beach is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in in Europe and I would certainly recommend it for a relaxing break.

I can't say enough good things about the Pioneer Beach Hotel. We visited during a very quiet time due to the pandemic and we were impressed with the high level of covid precautions, everywhere was scrupulously clean and all staff were in masks throughout. It was very clear that the hotel team were absolutely delighted that we had 'braved' the world situation to travel to Cyprus and the service that we received was nothing short of fantastic. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, the food was great, lovely room with sea view. The dining area is directly on the sea front and a great people watching spot! The outside pool and beach area are really nicely maintained and not too overcrowded with sun loungers. The hotel is more or less at the end of the 'strip' so the walk into Paphos is around 30 mins, but a lovely stroll towards the harbour. We booked half board which gave us the chance to switch dinner for lunch on a couple of days and have a meal in the town. The reception staff were great, we mainly dealt with Sophie and Veronika, always happy to make recommendations and book tables etc. The restaurant team always made us feel really welcome, especially Vasilis and the lovely lady (sorry, have forgotten her name) who seated us for every meal.
The whole experience made our holiday so relaxing and a perfect break from reality which was much needed in these weird times.
Thank you so much. We will be back!

We stayed for a week 13th-20th July as a couple in a Junior suite inland view. We were greeted with a welcome drink & time to sit & fill out the normal hotel forms. We were shown to our room & luggage bought up for us. Room had everything you would need including a bottle of wine & fruit. Very clean. Bed very big & comfortable (I’m quite fussy about beds & this was very good) choice of pillows too.
Food choices & quality is the best we have experienced. Drinks menu on the AI is also vast including iced frappe, milkshakes, cocktails & premium spirits. They also serve pint glasses of beer which pleased my partner. It can be a bit of a pain using your card to get drinks & then sign for them but we do understand the policy around this. At least there are no annoying wrist bands.
Pool was super warm & clean, sun-beds/parasols were plentiful but it is frustrating that people feel the need to ‘reserve’ beds but not use for half the day! Pool towels can be frequently changed through your room.
Entertainment was fairly low key but quite good. Always seemed to be something going on. The iced towels & fresh fruit provided on some afternoons were always welcome. Cypriot night was very good, & the pool bar kebabs cooked & served outside on certain days were very good too.
Definitely worth downloading the TUI Blue app to reserve the a la carte restaurants. The tenderloin steak in Thalassa restaurant was outstanding. Fresh pizza at lunch was amazing there too.
Sea is accessed by a jetty in the small bay, very refreshing to have a swIm there.
Only little niggles we encountered were the amount of time to get drinks in the main buffet restaurant were always long. On two occasions in excess of 15 mins. The gym could do with a bit more equipment but you can make do. Sun-beds could do with a through deep cleaning & some of the chairs & tables around the pool bar could also benefit with a deep clean.
The walk along the beach path towards Paphos was enjoyable & there is a bus that runs into Paphos just outside the hotel for €1.50. Tip: get off at the Chinese restaurant with illuminated blue mushrooms to enjoy the stroll straight into the seafront area & harbour.
We had an amazing holiday at Pioneer Beach. Would we return……Yes. Already booked for September with our grown up children. Can’t wait.

Two days before we were due to arrive at the Athena Royal we were told by TUI that we were being moved to the Pioneer Beach. We have been to Cyprus many times and knew the location of the hotel and that it is owned by the same group as the Athena Royal. On balance we decided to accept the change since the hotel replied to my e mail and informed me we would still have the same class of room with a private cabana.
On arrival we were given a blue card so that we could present it in the bars and restaurants when ordering food and drink so that it could be charged to our room. I showed the person on reception that I had a silver card that entitles guests who have made more than ten visits to Constantinou hotels to a 20% discount at all Constantinou hotels. I was told that we were on the system and that everything was fine. It was several days before I realised that my bills were not showing this discount. I then complained at reception and was given a valid silver card and my discounts were added. My bills then showed the discount at the point of sale. This should have been resolved when we arrived. I could not use my old silver card of course since this was valid for my previous visit to the Athena Royal.
Other than my complaint about the loyalty card everything was fine and the staff in the restaurants and bars were excellent. The reception staff printed off all our paperwork related to Covid tests and made our return check in at the airport very smooth. Many thanks.
The standard of food in the restaurants was very good and I enjoyed breakfast in the fantastic room reserved for guests in superior rooms with fresh fruit juices, full English and eggs prepared to order.
The private cabana was a big plus since the grounds are not as extensive as the Athena Royal although there were always sunbeds free throughout the day. The bar staff made regular visits to the cabanas and kept us supplied with cold drinks.
We had not had a holiday since the start of the pandemic so thanks to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

We are here at the moment almost at the end of a 2 week stay and normally leave writing reviews until home, however I feel the need to do it now as do not agree with the negative comments. Staff are what makes this hotel normally I would name but every single one of them are hard working and courteous. Nothing is too much trouble and if you do have to wait for a drink it comes with an apology. A la carte food is amazing steak to beat anything back home and we have eaten here often. Covid measures in place all over with masks and sanitiser stations everywhere feel very safe here. Tui have advertised with more restaurants than here but due to shortage and restrictions not as many available but do amazing with what they have. Do remember we are holidaymakers during a global pandemic so things will be different here ss they are everywhere. Had a great holiday and will definitely return.

Just left the hotel. This is our 5th visit in as many years. The hotel staff truly are an amazing bunch. Nothing is too much trouble. Special mention goes to Valia Machaira who always looks after us and other returning guests known to her. The hotel has a very good beach front, the pool is warm and the food is also “spot on” in all restaurants. Worth paying the extra for a superior room, plus the all inclusive plus which allows you to dine in style.

One thing I would ask of all visitors, is to stop putting your towels down at 6am every morning around the pool. There are plenty of loungers for everyone. We preferred the beach where it was much quieter and nobody placing towels. This is not the hotel’s fault, merely the mindset of people.

All in all, an excellent hotel and great value for money. We will be back very soon.

Myself and wife are currently half way through our stay at this hotel. Overall, we are having a very good experience which has been helped by the very friendly and considerate staff. The hotel itself is very clean, although one or two areas need a quick update, and everything from the food to bar service has been excellent.

We had some queries initially as my wife is vegan, but she has definitely been catered for and some serious thought has gone into the vegan menu which makes a nice change. We have been lucky enough to eat in the Christiana restaurant for breakfast which is nice and quiet. The staff are very attentive without being over bearing and the place is spotless and fresh. The Regina/Thalassa restaurants have also produced some great food with excellent waiter service, some of which has been personal to my wife’s needs.

The reception staff are very polite and informative and can deal with queries in a flash which is what you would expect. They speak very good English and know exactly what is happening. A special mention to Valia who sorted a few early issues out for us.

The other facilities are generally good too. There is a dart board and table tennis table by the pool area to help pass the time. The gymnasium is small but has a rower, stepper, cross trainer and two treadmills. Also, a small multi station weights station and a dozen sets of dumbbells. There is a small indoor pool too which is heated.

The pool area is small and cosy with plenty of sun beds available right up to the waters edge of the beach. Fresh beach towels are left in the room daily when the maids attend.

The evening entertainment isn’t X factor but more Phoenix Nights! A bit cheesy but if you’re happy to tap your feet and take it for what it is then it’s fine. If you want something livelier then Paphos harbour with its bars and restaurants are only a 5 minute bus or taxi ride away. Alternatively, you can follow the path from the hotel and walk there in 35 minutes.

So far so good at this nice and relaxing hotel. Would definitely recommend.
