I spent a short week with my friend at T&T River Camp last June. It has been one of the most wonderful experience we've ever lived. We were in a safari Luxury Tent ont the banks of Luangwa river, very confortable. The lodge is equipped with all commodities, but you really feel in the heart of nature, awakened by the laughing hippos in the early morning, or in the middle of the night by troups of elephants, visiting the area. The watchmen provide, of course, safety as every unexpected meeting is possible there : on the other side of the river stands South Luangwa National Park, so close... Every safari has been magical, especially with Peter, the kind owner of the Camp who, as a real nature lover, knows a lot about wildlife and shares it so well. He is also a guide, a very talentuous photographer and gave us lots of tips to take good pictures. First key : patience... He knows where and when stopping the car at the right moment. Just listen, feel and watch... We have seen chasing lions and beautiful leopards, families of baboons and ververt monkeys perched in trees to eat fruits with herds of impalas waiting under,... Real magical moments you can not describe, you have to go there and experience it to know what I mean. You are really in good hands, a special thanks to Peter and Kirsten for what they offer : a real retreat of authenticity where you really recover your senses. You leave the lodge different, personnally enriched.

We stayed here for 4 nights in the fantastic luxury tents which surpassed expectations. Hippos and elephants wandered past our tent and there were baboons everywhere! No need for an alarm clock for the early morning drives as the hippos woke us by talking to each other in the river.

This was our first safari holiday and it was excellent - the guide ( Saidee) was brilliant and he was able to show us so many animals. He was really knowledgeable. We had a long drive in the morning, broke for a beautiful lunch back at camp, relaxed, had afternoon tea(!) and then headed out for another drive every day.

The camp has fantastic food, a lovely pool and the owners and staff there are really friendly.

If you are making your own way here from Malawi as we did - do make sure the car you use can survive the roads - our lift didn't!! The roads were being worked on though so they may well be easier going by now. It was well worth the journey to get there though - an absolutely fantastic experience!

We camped ourselves on the campsite of T&TRC and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The camp is a great base to explore the national park and it was very quiet; we were almost the only campers. The camp attendant was kind very helpful. I loved loved loved the wondering hippo's at night. We also very much appreciated the pool and the G&T's at the bar. Overall, the staff is very friendly and helpful. We also booked 2 game drives at the end of the day; both were equally amazing and the wildlife we saw was out of this word; the guide was a true expert.
After staying 2 nights, we left for a 2 night stay at Zungulila bush camp. A very luxurious and remote camp, part of the bush camp company. Although we had a good time at Zungulila, we preferred Track & Trail. Returning to T&T after our stay at Zungilla we decided to stay another 3 nights.
We will hopefully back in May of next year!

Had a few days here food is lovely cooked well. The lodges are clean and comfortable, beds are soft and comfy. My only complaint would be the place could do with a little TLC.The drive that we had was JJ he went above and beyond his remit. He is a walking encyclopedia of animals, plants, trees, and even the heaven's.

I visited with a group of girlfriends. Although we had no expectations, we were pleasantly surprised at the level of comfort. The villas are large, the beds comfortable and the showers hot. There is much room to hang out in the public dining and bar area with strong WiFi. We enjoyed the walking safari and got to hang out with a herd of zebras in close proximity. We were able to see the big four (the park has no rhinos) many times over. The game cars were big and well maintained. For me, this was the perfect level of luxury in the busy, not too rustic but not too fancy that it was incongruous with the surrounds. The manager, big Mike, was loads of fun. Make sure you get him to pour your drinks!

We stayed at this lodge for four nights with our extended family. Tracks and Trails is not the top of the line but cerainly comfortable and more than adequate. My husband and I were given a special room so were super comfortable. Our extended family, Mom, Dad,and two kids had a family chalet that was barely adequate. Small to begin with and now filled with huge beds. Very little storage space. However, the staff in the dining area were superb and we spent lots of time in the common spaces. The thrill for us was the amount of wildlife that wandered through the yards. A herd of 10 elephants frequently passed through often right past our front door. The game rides were excellently guided (especially by Steven) and the food was extraordinary. The lodge is in need of some preventative and ongoing maintenance--leaks and creeks that could be easily fixed and are more of an inconvenience that a problem.

Traditional chalets in a direct riverside location, just across the river from the National Park itself. Plenty of bushbuck and other wildlife wandering around the camp, to give you the experience you came here for! The chalets are huge and the beds super comfortable. Bar and restaurant also great. oh yes and there is a raised swimming pool with panoramic views. The guide Isaac was super knowledgeable about the park and all of the flora and fauna; a great spotter too. This lodge is just the other side of the river, so technically is outside the park, and hence considerably more affordable place to sleep!

We visited South-Luangwa and T&T back in 2015. As our stay was gorgeous, we decided to go back this year in September.
Oh boy, ne never ever regretted it for one second.
We stayed this time 17 days in the Camp of which 13 days were safari.
At the Mfuwe airport, we were awaited by Peter, the owner of the T&T lodge. Upon arrival at the Camp, we were warmly welcomed by Chichi.
First surprise, we were upgraded to the Honeymoon Suite. Whoaah, that Suite is nearly a house: very huge with a separate room for the clothes (with a safe in the corner), separate room for the toilet, big separate room for the shower with bath-tub and a big king size bed. On top of that, there is a small desk and sofa on the left when entering and a small salon at the right side when entering. (In this corner you have the coffee facility – daily refilled). And plenty of space in the middle of the room. There is even a small coffin – with key – that can be used to store photo material or anything else. Of course, rooms are daily cleaned. Shower and body shampoo are daily refilled.
The room (as all rooms) have a view on the Luangwa River.
Chichi and her team did everything to pamper us. Ad oh boy, did she succeeded!!!! The food was over delicious. We never ever had the same thing twice during our stay. Early breakfast starts around 5:30 am with yoghurt, cereals, fresh fruit and fresh cakes and coffee or tea.
Normal breakfast starts from 07:00 with different kind of breakfast like continental, Dutch or … with fresh toast, egg, bacon, sausages, yoghurt, marmalade, fresh fruit … but also cake, muffin, cookies.
Lunch is from 12:00 with always a 3-course menu: starter, main and dessert. Lunch was very light.
At 15:30 there was high tea with coffee and cookies, cake or fresh fruit.
Dinner starts as soon as you return from the evening safari, around 08:15. Again, a 3-course menu: starter, main dish and dessert. If the lunch was delicious, what to say about dinner. Very, very delicious. We had beef, chicken, pork, BBQ, and at a very high standard. And not to forget, everything was prepared by a local "chef". Chichi surprised us –even twice- with a dish "on request". We ordered a typical Belgian dish like "steak with mushrooms". And it was absolutely gorgeous. THANKS Chichi and Kitchen Team!!!
The bar is next to the restaurant. And beyond the restaurant you can find the boma.
Staff is very friendly and always ready to help.
Furthermore there is a pool, built on a higher platform, where you can cool down. There is also an outdoor gym, free to use.
By the way, when you walk to the restaurant from the room or vice versa watch out for the elephants. They are daily visitors. But also bushbuck, monkeys and giraffes.
Oh of course the safari: the morning safari is between 06:00 and 10:00 and the evening safari is between 16:00 and 20:00. The lodge is just outside the park: you are within minutes at the gate.
We booked the photography safari with Peter. Peter is an excellent guide and knows the park insight out but above all he is also an outstanding photographer: he knows exactly where and when you have the perfect light for a specific scenery whether this is elephant crossing the river and playing in the sand/ dust or bee-eaters on the riverbank. We have seen quite some (exceptional) sceneries.
Thank you very much Chichi, Peter and the rest of the team. We had a wonderful stay at your place. You have everything under control and you sure know how to indulge your visitors.
Last time we said we'll be back, and, this time as well, we say we'll be back (again).

My wife and I camped here for four nights to explore South Luangwa national park. The camp area is flat and spacious with thatch-covered pitches (elephant/hippo protection), and a low electric fence and night patrol guards also offer security. Each pitch is close to a braii area and water tap, and the clean ablution block is only a short walk away. There is a lovely riverside bar and restaurant, a little pricey but ok given the location, a raised swimming pool (very cold) and even a small outdoor gym! We did some self drive and guided safaris, all of which were excellent. The staff at Track & Trail were very knowledgeable and the vehicles were comfortable Landcruisers - standard safari vehicles! At Track & Trail we were awoken in the night by a large hippo grazing outside our tent, and giraffe were regular visitors through the campsite - very cool. Take care to keep food secure - the resident monkeys are very courageous...! Overall, we would definitely return here again. Excellent!
