If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, convenient, quiet place to stay near La Mauricie National Park, look no further. If you want a posh resort with fluffy robes and designer decor, keep looking. We spent 2 nights in a condo so we could use the fridge, microwave, etc. while spending 3 days in the park. The condo was equipped with all the necessities (3 corkscrews in the drawer!). Our only complaints: the mattress was extremely firm and the pillows extremely thin, so we didn't sleep well (even after hiking and canoeing all day). Condos in the front have a view of the river, but some road noise - but there are no cars once it gets dark. Condos in the rear have a mountain view, and rooms in the rear look out at trees. Heating is radiant under-floor, which is efficient and comfortable, but it takes longer than usual for a room to heat up or cool down after you adjust the thermostat.

This place is close to Parc National de Mauricie. The condo's are very simple. In our condo there were a lot of improvements to be made: better beds, missing waterkettle, only 3 placemats, more shelves/space to put your things on, more lamps (missing light bulbs). And on top of that is wasn't very clean (lots of dust under beds, on tv, behind doors, dirty doors, hairs in bathroom) The worst thing was the state of the beds and matrasses. We expected a bit more from this location. Prices for the condos are reasonable. Website is not up to date.

Your comment falls at the right time. Exactly or all our guests were leaving (5 rooms and 5 condos) to make room for other guests who had booked for 8 months. So an ideal time to review all the condos with the entire cleaning team. Verdict, we found dust ... but in the reception of the hostel! We would love to have the condo number for the mattress. We have new equipment that comes in regularly. Thanks to you we will be equipped with all our kettle condos (although we have had no request for this since 1994). That would be logical since we have a kettle only in the kitchen of the rooms. Finally, we would like to have a new website (to view our rates very low season and very high season) but ... has good price!

This place is particularly convenient if you want to find a place as you come out of the park as it is really close. And that you plan to do the bear observation tour. More spacious than anticipated but a few things need to go on a check list to avoid being forgotten (used coffee filter not taken out) for example. Comfortable. The closest restaurants after the bear tour are located about 5 mn away by car in the village. So better plan on it as there is nothing around when you finish the tour.

Booked a condo (1 separate bedroom, 1 bathroom with tub, 1 fully equipped kitchen) to have more space and to be able to cook our meals... this was great as we experienced a heavy snow storm during our stay so that hiking in the park was impossible that day. Although our condo was facing the road, there was almost no traffic at all. Very quiet night. Excellent mattrass.

the hostel is an perfectly localted place to explore the Mauricie Park, and both rooms (+ included breakfast) or condominiums are an equally excellent choice with a very very good valiue for money. the place is hiper-comfortable and you can eat the eggs that you can collect fresh in the morning from the chicken-hut; Eric, the hostel tenant will show to you the black bear, and suggest nice itineraries and options ionthe Mauricie Park and is a very warm chap - you really feel like at home - worth the stay!
