We would like to thank all the hotel staff for making our stay very special. Every one of them was amazing. We felt at home from day one, but it got better every day. We were always welcomed with a warm, effortless smile every time we met any of the staff. The location is really good if you wish to move a little bit around, preferably with a car, and discover nearby places such as Cacela Velha and many other beautiful spots. The beach is about 5 minutes walk away. Breakfast was nice, including endless freshly squeezed orange juice and lovely Portuguese pastries. The gym is brand new and has very good equipment. The rooftop pool is a great place to spend the afternoon, and it is relatively sheltered, so it's a good alternative if the beach feels too windy. You can also have a great cocktail, as the barman put a lot of care and effort in everything he does. We don't tend to go back to the same hotel twice, but we are very tempted to go back to The Prime Energize!…
The hotel is nice. Well situated to fantastic white, clean beaches The people in reception and restaurant very nice but the food is far from good, unfortunately Such a shame. Hope they will improve dinners
Nice and beautifully decorated restaurant we had the picanha with sweet potatoes and a mixed salad. Very good! Friendly staff. The restaurant is in the hotel. We will return when we are in Monte Gordo.
Book the hotel as part of a Jet 2 package through our local travel agents. Monte Gordo as a resort is full of two distinct groups those either using or about to use rotators or very active athletes as in neither group but unlikely to take part in any races ever again. Pleased that we hadn’t booked into the OAP singalong and interested what a fitness focus hotel was going to be like we met the enthusiastic receptionist, who was very interested in us and answered all our questions all week. We did book into three of the morning classes and where worried about that we would be able to keep up with the class, no need as we had the classes to ourselves and the instructors were very helpful. We had a junior suite which was very spacious and comfortable with twin balconies. Our issues is that the air conditioning was on winter mode and to cool the room down, we had to open the window letting mousies, plus the noise from the local bin lorry at 4am. Although the beds were large and very comfortable we prefer to share one bed. We booked half board and really enjoyed the food, to resolve the issues of queuing and keeping, the selections full it would be useful to know the quiet times when booking in. I love the hotel/staff and enjoyed my week in the hotel but it is missing a lounge area where people can sit and have a drink.…
Whilst staying on the Algarve for a period of time we decided to visit "Monte Gordo" and after searching Trip Advisor "Prime Energise " had amazing reviews. We are a couple in their mid sixties and after booking became a little concerned about it not being what we really wanted which was a change from an Apartment to a comfortable break in a Hotel, especially as on arrival we were greeted with 20 people on the steps who had just completed a long run, my Wife now slightly concerned. Our concerns disappeared after talking to Rita who was on Reception, throughout our stay she was friendly and helpful. As i said the Hotel is designed for active people, a Gym, an indoor Pool, Sauna, Jacuzzi, and rooftop Pool. There are daily activities t take part in for a fee. The rooms are of a decent size, (408) although very minimalist and contempary, a lack of a proper dressing table for my wife., but a small Balcony with views and plenty of sun. The rooms on Level 5 looked very impressive. You are given a voucher for a free bottle of Wine if you eat Al a Carte in the restaurant, which we did, and this was excellent and not expensive. There is also an evening Buffet. The staff were brilliant in the Restaurant i must say. Breakfast was very good, don't expect a Full English, there are eggs, Bacon etc, but again a large supply of healthly foods, but all very tasty. Odd times they needed telling to top up certain things, it was as if no-one had this role without being asked, but overall very good. We did hear the barking dog that everyone mentions but it wasn't all night or anything and didn't bother us, although we were woken on the second night at 2.30am with some work going on to the Lift i believe, which was annoying. At this time of year there wasn't too many Restaurants open but we found one or two nice places. We tried the Casino, it was ok, not as rough as some people described. People were allowed to smoke inside which we didn't like much, you need your Passports to get in, we played on the Roulette and lost quick so weren't there too long. Monte Gordo is full of runners and cyclists, there are superb flat cycle paths that go for miles and its all flat We came for some rest and relaxation and although it is an active Hotel you can do this as well , o problem. Overall we enjoyed our stay here.…
