The Palads Hotel is located in cenral Viborg just at the end of the pedestrian street. Rooms are quite big and comfortable and beds are fine. There is a very small minibar with reasonable prices. Not very much service and the bar/restaurant was closed at evenings. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of choices. Only point to mention is the total lack of organic products.
This little family owned hotel is a hidden gem. The landlord and landlady make their guests feel at home. The lady who runs the restaurant serves well cooked food, and the breakfast is outstanding for such a small place. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean with quite newly renovated bathrooms with jacuzzi and spa. Carpets overall could use a change, and the rooms could use blinds, as the lights from the street are quite bright.
Stayed here for 2 nights on bussiness and it was a nice hotel. The staff were extremely friendly, very helpful in recommending places to eat in local area. The room was average , and it was quite noisy as it was straight onto the street. Breakfast was good, particularly the meatballs they were tasty!! Can I also say a big thank you as I left my jacket in my room and it was shipped promptly to my address back in the UK! Lovely service!
The location of the Palads Hotel is extremely convenient. From the Palads, it's possible to walk comfortably around Viborg for dinner, drinks, a bit of sightseeing etc. I found my room to be fairly warm at night (didn't feel comfortable leaving my window open all night). A nice surprise was the in-room sauna, which I didn't use. The breakfast (included) was very good - very nice selection, and offered by a very nice hostess. Don't forget to bring your adaptor for your laptop if traveling from the States!
We recently stayed here for two nights. The room we got was very spacious, had a kitchenette, a spa tub and a sauna! We didn´t use the sauna though. The only negative thing I have to say is that they should have installed air conditioning instead of the sauna as the room got unbearably hot in the night time. We had to have the window open due to the heat and as the hotel is located smack in the middle of down town, we didn´t get much sleep as people were coming from the bars and clubs, singing and talking loudly directly below our window.
