Dirty carpet in the room, scratchy towels & substandard breakfast. The pool is smaller than it looks in the pics and during our stay there were babies in diapers in the pool which deter us from getting in. The jacuzzi is tiny, 2 people max. We left the room around 9am came back around 2pm and it was still not cleaned during the week; there are minimum amenities in the room (not even a box of kleenex) so bring plenty of toiletries. Location is great but that’s all you’re paying for.…
We were having our wedding in nearby Azeitao and had all of our guests stay at the hotel for a minimum of two nights. Many people stayed three. Although the hotel knew in advance that we were getting married that weekend and that we had brought the hotel a significant piece of business with all of our guests staying there (nearly 80 people total), the hotel made no effort whatsoever to acknowledge this. We were not expecting royal treatment by any means, but a nice note, bottle of wine, or even verbal greeting and thank-you would have been nice.…
we have been with our big family (11 people) we had (almost) all our rooms at the same floor as prefered. The rooms are very clean, airconditioning not noisy at all, big bed, every day clean towels, although once in a few days might have been good too, thinking of the environment..We had one sea view room with a nice balcony, what a stunning ocean view! The breakfast is a buffet with a lot of choices, fruits, egg, many different kind of bread and cakes, excelent! Towel for the swimmingpool available, beach just one step from the hotel. Very friendly staf, as we had a late flight, we got clean towel to take a shower before leaving, at the gym. Nice roof pool with comfortable seats. Nice area, a lot of restaurants and with to local bus in one hour to Lisbon. We enjoyed our stay very much!…
It is a really beautiful sightseeing over the ocean. Excellent location, super nice staff and lovely decoration. The village is really cosy with lots of tourists and street animation! Very close to restaurants and shopping areas. An experience to repeat!
Our last full day. Traveling from the Algarve to Lisbon - stopped at Sesimbra. Great little resort town south of Lisbon. Cute little shops. We wanted a good restaurant for lunch and googled it - Zagaia was rated the best. They were not wrong. We have eaten our way through Portugal and was blown away by Zagaia. Just above the promenade in a simple yet elegant space the food was a complex mix of simple yet subtle flavors. The mussels are incredible. The sauce looks hearty but quite the contrary - light and airy. I also had the fish soup with a distinct flavor. The atmosphere is friendly and family-oriented. The kitchen was open and there was a feeling of genuine teamwork. The service was impeccable and they were extremely attentive. Overall, this is a diamond in the rough - the chef is brilliant and a very nice man. I complimented him and he looked sheepish and honestly very happy to speak to me. I have done this only twice in my life but I felt that he - the chef of this amazing restaurant - deserved the highest of accolades.…
