We stayed 2 nights here and we really enjoyed it. It is located in Santana village and yes, one needs a car to get there and from there to other places! It is a small, quaint private house, with very few rooms, each one different from the other. The rooms are a good size, very nicely decorated. The garden is just lovely: with flowers, a golden fish and water lilies pond, a pool and sunbeds, with very nice sitting areas for reading or relaxation. They also provide a few parking spots. Breakfast is a really-really special moment of the day as the owner serves it himself in the funniest way I have seen: he brings everything to your table and makes jokes and sings and also makes the cutest comments! If you are intelligent and with a good sense of humor there's no way you wouldn't like this man!!! We could not wait to go to breakfast and not for the food but for the funny moments we had there. There's no better way to start your day but with a good laugh! A weak point was that wifi only worked in the sitting room and not in the rooms.…
I booked a room that had pictures of a tall window and was given one that was in a basement with a small window at the level of the ground. When I pointed that out the owner simply accused me of not having read the description of the room (which I had), and acted in an arrogant and extremely rude manner. He never acknowledged that the room did not match the pictures on the web and told us to leave. The worst experience with staff I have ever had! Would not recommend this place to anyone.…
Stayed four nights in this excellent b&b, which is ideally placed for the Cabo Espichel as well as for Sesimbra. In fact it's just off the main road of Santana, the village at the top of the hill overlooking Sesimbra. Our room was large, clean, with a comfortable bed and had a private little patio. It had a fan rather than aircon, but this was not a problem for us, despite the high external temperatures during our stay. There is also a communal sitting room for guests. The house wifi router is in the sitting room, and easily reached our bedroom. There is a small pool for guests in the beautiful garden. Breakfast was really excellent, featuring homemade cakes and jam, fresh fruit salad and squeezed orange juice, and cafetière coffee with hot milk. All prepared and served by Lucindo, who is a marvellous host and source of knowledge of the area. Finding Casa da Terrina is easy. Follow signs for Santana and look out for a large sign for the b&b on the right in the village centre. Turn next right, down the far side of a large building currently painted a dirty yellow colour. Half a km. down the road the b&b's open gates will be facing you at a fork in the road. This was definitely our kind of accommodation, combining comfort with personal touches, and service with human contact. Heartily recommended!…
First and foremost, let me tell you why Santana is a good choice. It's a very quiet place, suitable for relaxation, but at the same time, a mere 5 min trip (by automobile) from the center of Sesimbra. The house itself is magnificent. The rooms are not big, but clean and well decorated. The garden is soothing and gorgeous. The breakfast was very good, always with fresh products, and the staff was very welcoming and nice, always eager to help.…
