Neat hotel. Very nice and clean room. Neat bathroom. Very friendly staff. Decent breakfast. Not super extensive, but very nutritious and healthy. Add a croissant at the weekend. Everything is properly measured in jars, so there is actually no waste from breakfast.

Room Tip: Weinig parkeergelegenheid bij hotel. Strak parkeren zodat er zoveel mogelijk plek ontstaat.

Nice independent hotel in what must be the best location in Heppenheim. Very new and modern interior. Spotlessly clean bathroom. View on the very picturesque town square from the room. Room was comfortable and had all essentials apart from a minibar (or at least a fridge) and coffee making facilities.
One of the reasons to pick this hotel was the Tesla destination chargers in the private parking. Although they are placed somewhat awkwardly compared to the parking spots, I was able to snag the last possible parking and charging position.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Goldener Engel on a snowy Saturday and Sunday in this picturesque village about an hour's drive from the Frankfurt airport. As for location, you can't get better than a room overlooking the main pedestrian area of the old market. The room was spacious by European standards and though the structure retains its original old-world look, the interior rooms are modern and simply, but tastefully decorated. The bathroom is the typical, small but efficient room with ample shelfs for toiletries, nice thick towels, (no wash cloths as is usual), and a shower cabin. Bed was comfy and the thick down comforters felt good. The host and hostess were friendly and helpful. This charming little hotel actually includes a small restaurant which was unfortunately closed for a private party Saturday night and normally closed on Sunday night which was disappointing as the menu of German specialties and the associated smells coming from the kitchen lead me believe that it may be one of the best restaurants in town. The breakfast was the standard German fare, which my wife and I both liked (German breakfasts are great!). We had a car and there is a small parking courtyard behind the hotel which is locked from about 4:00 pm in the evening, but there is ample parking about two short blocks from the hotel if you arrive afterwards. If driving, Heppenheim is quite easy to reach via the autobahn. We used it as a base to go to the Bad Homburg and Budingen Christmas markets. Heppenheim was beautiful in the snow and I'm quite sure it would be stunning in the more temperate seasons as well. Lots of restaurants in the area. We'd welcome the opportunity to return to Heppenheim and this lovely hotel.

Busy place, food is good. Service takes a long time, place is big. Fun gathering place. Beer brewed right there. Place is loud and can get crowded. Extensive menu and daily specials. It was a fun experience.

This is not a five star hotel but if you are looking for a comfortable, clean, friendly, unique building, good food, great situation etc. etc . then this is the place to stay.

It is located on the old town square, surrounded by other unique and ancient buildings also transformed into hotet/restaurants with international cuisine . These lead down small winding streets in the same style .

The Goldener Engel is situated in the picturesque centre of Heppenheim and has a frontage onto a charming cobbled square with other restaurants and hotels. I was allocated a twin room for single occupation and it was simple, light and airy with fittings all in good condition. Room and shower room were very clean. The staff spoke English and were efficient. As I had to leave early, they kindly provided an early breakfast outside the usual serving time. The price of breakfast was included in the reasonable price.

Stayed in the new part of the hotel which has been upgraded to a very modern standard - large tv on wall, comfy bed and modern bathroom with rain head shower.

Breakfast was good but the best thing is the location of this hotel, right in the centre of old town Heppenheim. This is one of the most beautiful towns in Germany.

I will return to this hotel next time I visit.

Was on business and needed a place central, so this fitted the bill.

Due to a tight budget, I opted for the single room (don't know if there is more than one), and it was functional and clean.

For some reason the room was quite cool even though the radiator was on maximum all the time, (the maid turned it down each day)! And be warned that the small bathroom has NO heating, so was very cold in December!

Despite the above I would stay here again, the staff are pleasant and the location, breakfast and cleanliness is very good. Also had dinner here and this was good too.

The restaurant is on a little square and has a balcony outside which was a lovely place to eat on a hot evening. The food was delicious, I had steak, portion was large and it was very tasty, my friend had the snitzel and it was delicious too. Great value for money, we sat for a long time with a glass of wine just enjoying the ambience.

"The friends who travelled with us had a room with a view over the marketplace. Their room had a shower, but no bath. We were all very satisfied with our accommodation and pleasantly surprised at how quiet the rooms were."
