Our wedding day at Cantley House Hotel was truly incredible and was the perfect place to host our intimate wedding! It was lovely to have a choice of different rooms to host both our ceremony and reception in. Our wedding day was well organised and ran smoothly and this is a credit to the team. Staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble with all of our requests being met. The food was delicious, getting high praise from all of our guests and they were able to cater for a range of dietary requirements. I would definitely recommend Cantley House Hotel as a fantastic place to host a wedding - we could not have asked for a more perfect day!

Arrived after a long day , left saddleworth at 6.00am and attending a family event in London I arrived at the property at 9.30 pm tired and checked in, after putting my bass in the room at 10.04 I asked if we could have a drink , I was told the bars where close and no room service , I was shocked I could not get a drink , after locating the manager he kindly did give us some drinks. I am still shocked as if you have children and there is no room service or drinks available are you supposed to visit an supermarket before. Quality of sleep 0/10 I could hear the occupants of the room above walking around dropping thing half the night , I was woken by the sound of some one using the toilet early in the morning , I strongly suggest getting ear plugs. I paid £149 and left at 8.00 tired facing a 4 hour drive. I do not like writing such an awful review but if I had paid £40.00 I have no reason to complain but you can see from my other reviews I am more than complimentary of good service I am waiting to see how the management address my complaint and will update you

There is so much potential here, but the hotel is let down by poor service and old fashioned and tired decor. I found £169 expensive for a single occupancy room that had ripped sheets and stained walls in the shower. Breakfast was included but when we sat down and were about to order off the menu that was on our table we were told it was buffet only and the selection was extremely limited compared to what should have been on offer. Dinner was better but still essentially pub grub which is not what the website suggests. My request for a ground floor room was addressed which was appreciated but when checking in it would have been nice to get a bit of information about the hotel and facilities. With a complete refurb and some good training for staff this could be a fabulous place. As it stands, I probably wouldn’t return as I don’t personally feel I got value for money. I would consider at a lower price point though.

The hotel is at best grubby and worn out. My room wasn’t prepared at all, there were cobwebs and dust everywhere and the sanitary wear didn’t look clean. No milk for coffee or bathroom stuff and to cap it all the kettle didn’t work anyway. I went to reception to complain and was offered a downgraded room as that was all that was left. Out of desperation I took it even though the ceiling was cracked and chipped tiles in the shower room. The receptionist was very polite and suggested I should get a discount but wasn’t able to give one as she didn’t have the authority. She left a message for the night manager who arrives at 23.00 and leaves at 07.00. I won’t hold my breath. The only option for food was in the stables bar, not quite as the web site showed. It was basic pub food but the staff were good. In summary, don’t do it as it needs a major refurb.
