Typical 5 Star hotel. Really good service, price of food and drinks is really reasonable or perhaps that’s Malta?? The decor in the rooms is a little dated but it’s being refurbed later this year and will
be a Marriott. Fantastic location and great staff!
I visited this wonderful hotel with my family in January 2018.
The hotel is very nice and its location is very good too - overlooking the sea. Right next to the hotel there is a bus station if you want to explore Malta.

Words cannot express the excellence of this hotel. Their care for their guests and the high standards they maintain put them above any other hotel I've ever visited. We had an incident when we were in Malta and the hotel did everything in their power...More
This holiday exceeded all our expectations. A short drive from the airport delivered us to a hotel overlooking Balluta Bay. Our family room was huge and well appointed and while our balcony didn't look out to the sea it didn't disappoint. The food served in...More
It seemed to me a little old hotel overpriced .The service and the place are very good. Breakfast is not impressive with lots of half-bars. The pool and the spa are very small and dark. We did not get a family room with sea views...More

The hotel itself allows kids but we hardly saw any while we were there. Certainly not overrun. I wouldn't say locally there were huge numbers of kids hanging around, there are quite a few teenagers/early 20s crowds more towards pacevile and St Julian's bay but not so much around Balluta.
The weather in Malta is basicaly hot and dry all year. Going March-May is slightly cooler (low 20s) and there's more greenery about. Summer can hit 40.
There aren't a huge number of sandy beaches in Malta so if sunbathing is what you're after you may be better suited to the rooftop pool and terrace of the hotel itself. If you're into watersports there is a watersports company at the bay, just in front of the Mount St Carmel church and they'll organise parasailing, jetskis etc for you- don't worry about associated noise though as this all happens round at St Julian's bay and you get a (free) speedboat round when your shot is due.
I'd recommend this hotel and this area of Malta generally.
