So standing at the reception desk I ask, "do you have a safety box in the room?" "Yes sir," both staff replied in unison. "Because if not, I would like to put some things in your safety box." "We have in the room, sir". Literally 2 minutes later I call front desk from my safe-less room. "Maybe I'm a little weak of mind, if you know what I mean, but I can't find the safe." "Ahhh, no have sir." Lol. Besides this hiccup, the place is clean enough, aircon works, staff are friendly and the small room is small. But it is right next to all the bars and is good value at around $23 SGD a night. Who knows about the breakfast... You will be so hungover you won't make it down by 10.30am.

Stayed for 2D1N on the second floor (non smoking room) PROS: A short walk (10-15 min) to Nagoya shopping mall. Receptionist are professional and friendly. There is a security guard on the lobby, area is a safe place to stay in. Room is a decent size, ample space in room to move around and lay out luggage. Beds are comfortable and had one of the best sleeps, air conditioning worked well. CONS: Rooms are not sound proof and you will constantly hear doors slamming shut and people talking along the corridors. Not all rooms come with windows, I believe only the far end rooms have windows. There is no hairdryer in each room, you have to borrow the hairdryer from the reception and there was no hair dryer available to borrow until the next morning. No fridge and hot water in the room. The bathroom towels did not absorb much water, the shower and toilet seat is not separated. The shower water is not warm, you have to wait for awhile before the water is warm, the water current and flow is very inconsistent too. Bring your own body soap and shampoo if you are mindful but they do provide. The hotel’s lift is very slow, suggest you request a room with low floor so you can walk up and down the stairs instead which is much faster. The FOC breakfast was not appreciated as I do not take heavy foods for breakfast, skip it and sleep in if you can!

The first impression once step in was great. I'm a simple person, not that fussy so able to adapt to the environment within expectation. Booked this through Booking.com and was required to paid in cash. Not enough cash in hand. Luis the entrance concierge helped me out. He offered to ride on bike which he explained it will be more safer with him around. Thanked him for that. Entrance concierge - Credit to the young chap, Luis. He's polite and went extra mile. 5/5 Front desk - Always love the culture of the people who provide services here. As always very gentle and polite. But they will look better in standard uniform. 5/5 Room 601/602 - we checked in family of 5. 2 big spacious rooms with kids who are active running around. Cleanliness can be improve. Cups not cleaned. Still have stained. Room 602 not fully utilised with cup spoon, bathroom liquid or bar soap and shampoo not filled. The mattress not comfy as I can feel the spring. The hot water not working. Need to focus on essentials. 2/5 Breakfast - not much variety for budget hotel. Consider good enough. For family with kids, would love to see cereal for kids breakfast. 3/5 Checkout - It was pleasant as we traveled during the holiday of SG. They have taxi standard rate so u don't need to worry to travel around. 4/5 Location - Very near to pubs and shops. 5/5. Walking distance of 15-30mins to Nagoya Hill Mall. Overall Rating - 3.5/5 Thank you for the hospitality.

I found this gem last year and had to return. $15-19USD with free good breakfast is hard to beat. Friendly staff, Comfortable basic room and convenient to bars and restaurants. This is a great no-frills hotel that provides very comfortable bed, adequate air conditioning and a very good breakfast for the price.
