My husband and I stayed one night at Alma's hotel. The hotel is of older date, but totally fine. Cozy receptionist, the room is very large and the bed is good. No aircon in the room made the night a bit hot.
The hotel offers free dinner for those who wish. Breakfast is simple (no hot food), but quite fine selection of what you need. 1790 kr I think it's a bit expensive for 12 hours here, but it probably has to do with good times at the shipyard.
Average and totally okay for one night or two😊

This could have been so much more!!!
The hotel has an ok standard with what draws down is:
- no offers for dinner
- missed cooked eggs or eggs for breakfast
- receptionist was more busy sitting smoking outside with guests, rather than serving reception
- receptionist smelled sour smoke when I was checking out

A short walk from the town center. Clean and newly renovated room. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Great of them to offer a free evening snack. Wouldn't mind a bit more to choose from in the breakfast buffet.

Very pleased in every aspect. A bit skeptical reading some reviews but our experience was 100 % satisfied. Rooms spotless, linens clean, real black out curtains! The evening meal which was included in the room price consisted of cold cuts, varied salads ( ie egg salad and, beet salad, herring,….plus ham, salami, cheese with various breads/warm rolls) also available were juices and cereals. One could order from the bar various wine, beer or alcohol.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating.
Beds were comfortable, bathroom spotless and heated floors, exercise facilities as well as ironing board and iron available. Laundry possible as well.

We booked 2 room for our employees that worked in the area. At arrival the reception refused to give our people access to the hotel, because they wore working close! These guys are polite and friendly, skilled workers, they worked from 07-23:00 this day, I never experienced so poor service in my life, the rooms where prepaid by our office!. In the end, the guys got rooms in the hotel on the other side of the street (Stord hotell), they gave our guys a room, and send the invoice, without any problems.

During a stay in January 2023, we find several dark hairs in the bed when we go to bed at night. When we reported this, we were met by very poor customer service. We were not believed even though we had pictures of the hairs.
Because everything in Stord was fully booked, it became Almaa's hotel again in January 2024. The hotel is, like last time, old, unclean and not soundproof.
We thought that electric car charging was included for guests as nothing else was stated at check-in or on the sign, so we left unaware that we should have paid.
Friday evening, another travel companion was called by the hotel owner, I have 4 missed calls, messages and not least, my mother-in-law was also called by the hotel owner. Mother-in-law wasn't on the trip, so I don't know how he got hold of her numbers and what he was thinking about contacting her.
I call back as soon as I detect the calls. Here I am met by poor customer service with accusations that we have been "deducted" from the bill and "made ridiculous" because we did not understand that we had to pay for this, even though I apologized straight away.

Stayed here with work years ago, now it is remodelled/done up.
Rooms are nice and bright. big bathroom.
Clean, with good beds (even if they are a little small, 200*60cm)
Breakfast and evening meal are included, but it is scandinavian breakfast, so no bacon. But you get hot breadbuns/bread. Eggs was a little too well done for me(I like mine very runny), but some great cheese made up for that.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Short walk downhill to a mall with most things you might need.

We got a superior room, as they didn't have any standard room left. The room was bright, spacious and newly renovated.
The room had two single beds put together to make a double bed, the problem was that they was not fastened to each other, be prepared to slide apart...;-) Need to point out that the bed itself was excellent!
There was a free buffet in the evening, didn't taste everything, but the bread and cheese was delicious.
The breakfast is the type that most Norwegians have at home, pretty basic but good with fresh coffee.
Would live to come back another day.

I came here on business, and was booked for 1 night.
Unfortunately the airline lost my luggage and the owner went out of his way to help me receiving the suitcase it for me the next day; although I had already checked out.
Really friendly.
There`s no restaurant on the premises but there are cold Norwegian snacks and sandwiches in the lounge, free of charge.
The single room came with a pretty narrow bed, and the selection of TV channels is limited.
All in all it´s a no frill place. But clean and friendly.
