What's not to love here. Amazing accommodations, wonderful staff, perfect location and a wine cellar to use on the honor System. An easy walk to the Gonubie beach from here with restaurants and shopping nearby. Definitely an outstanding place to stay.

We stayed in the Junior Suite for two nights. It is well worth paying the extra for this. Stunning views over Gonubie River, lovely lounge area and amazing bathroom with double shower and large relaxing bath. Arrived after long drive down from Durban but greeted well by house staff. Met Rita next morning who was very helpful telling us where to go booked restaurant for dinner and taxi. Would definitely stay if in Gonubie again.

Deserves 5 stars but the reception and breakfast were not that excellent. We arrived on a Sunday late afternoon and were told, that the only open restaurant was just around the corner. It was closed. Found one in the village.

Talk about first class stay. The room is spacious and very nicely furnished. The bed is very comfortable, the best I have slept in at any B&B in my travels. The bathrooms is massive and very nice. There is always two things that I look for in a good B&B where I stay, 1st is the bed and secondly is the shower. The Edge exceed both those expectations. The facilities are definitely first class with there honesty bar where everybody can enjoy a beer together or go and sit in the wine cellar and drink some wine. Then we have not even talked about the view or the swimming pool. The Edge is definitely the place to stay no matter if you have work in East London or jut vacationing. The drive into town is definitely worth it if you stay here. I can give this place full marks in every regard. Please do yourself a favor and spoil yourself by staying at The Edge. You will not regret it.

We arrived in the dark- last minute, late on our way up to the Transkei from near Hermanus so we were pretty tired. From the get go- Tracey was a super host, patient and accommodating making a plan to put myself, my boss and his son up in two rooms with very little notice. When we woke in the morning the sun was rising and the view over the Gonubie river was just breath taking. I took a 5km run down to the sea to soak in the scenery- there is a stunning little boardwalk that begins at the estuary and follows the coast. The accommodation is flawless, crystal clean with a rigorous attention to detail. You can see Tracey has a keen eye for design.I would love to return in summer and make use of that beautiful outdoor pool and recreation room. The breakfast was delicious- great coffee (very important) the showers heavenly with fresh white robes, slippers and organic cosmetics to use.The morning newspaper hung on your door handle- the little things! We loved it so much we returned on our way back down for another stay. Highly recommended if you are visiting or passing through East london! Thanks Tracey! x Ali, Wilfred and Dickie.
