Flying around the world for 14 years. It’s by far the best place we have ever stayed. This place is home away from home. The social area with freshly baked cookies, tea and coffee is amazing. Can’t describe how happy and amazed we are by this place. Big thank you from the heart until we see you again.

Deserves 5 stars but the reception and breakfast were not that excellent. We arrived on a Sunday late afternoon and were told, that the only open restaurant was just around the corner. It was closed. Found one in the village.

We arrived in the dark- last minute, late on our way up to the Transkei from near Hermanus so we were pretty tired. From the get go- Tracey was a super host, patient and accommodating making a plan to put myself, my boss and his son up in two rooms with very little notice. When we woke in the morning the sun was rising and the view over the Gonubie river was just breath taking. I took a 5km run down to the sea to soak in the scenery- there is a stunning little boardwalk that begins at the estuary and follows the coast. The accommodation is flawless, crystal clean with a rigorous attention to detail. You can see Tracey has a keen eye for design.I would love to return in summer and make use of that beautiful outdoor pool and recreation room. The breakfast was delicious- great coffee (very important) the showers heavenly with fresh white robes, slippers and organic cosmetics to use.The morning newspaper hung on your door handle- the little things! We loved it so much we returned on our way back down for another stay. Highly recommended if you are visiting or passing through East london! Thanks Tracey! x Ali, Wilfred and Dickie.

On arrival for my second visit to this beautiful, well placed venue I was once again greeted by a very professional host. The room requested was clean and beautifully presented. The breakfast each morning is absolutely brilliantly prepared. Best venue and value for money in EL.

We stayed at The Edge two weeks ago and it was a wonderful experience. The guest house is stylishly decorated, warm and cosy. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. Ours had a stunning view over the Gonubie River. The guest house also offers a very nice pool and deck and a great cellar for a night in. We received a warm welcome from Tracey who was very helpful with giving us information about the area and the restaurants around. The rest of the staff was also very friendly and breakfast yummy! Don't miss it when you go to Gonubie!

A gem in East London. From the warm welcome by Shirley to the serene elegance of the space - culminating in an exquisite view over the Gonubie River as ones stresses melt away.
The room is both comfortable and chic with attention to detail - filter coffee with a plunger and fresh milk in the fridge are appreciated greatly!
A delicious breakfast and friendly staff - and well-priced.
I shall be back!
