There aren’t enough stars to rate Ukutula , from checking in to checking out is faultless, the Staff are incredible and that is all due to the exceptional training they’ve had, Willi who owns Ukutula has standards. The Staff choose who you speak too treat everyone like part of this unique family. No praise can be enough for them.

The accommodation at Ukutula are just like the Staff perfect, beautifully decorated individual thatched lodges, with an outside sitting area complete with a fire pit, camp chairs to sit around the fire pit plus a table and chairs on the veranda area. The bedroom’s are beautiful a lovely sitting area with a comfy sofa, a dining table, tv, ours had kitchenette superbly equipped which we didn’t use except the fridge.

The restaurant serves beautifully presented meals and breakfast is a magnificent feast. The gardens with 2 pools are gorgeous with so many animal figures representative of the wildlife.

We had joined our friends there, it was the final destination on our month long trip it was a reunion and our friend said it would be special, special doesn’t come close for Dreams coming True, we’ve been privileged of visiting several countries in Africa to see wildlife in a natural habitat, to play with Lion Cubs, to be licked by Fiji the Cheetah was something I never thought I’d do, but I have never dreamed that I would hold a 4 week old Lion Cub, that is a memory to cherish forever.

Not only does Ukutula make dreams come true, the conservation that they do is a vital to the wildlife world, their laboratory is fascinating and great education on what they are doing to preserve wildlife.

Thank You Ukutula for Making More Tan Dreams Come True

Such an amazing experience for our family. This is our second visit from Australia, last time was 9 years ago. Wonderful and informative owners, guides and staff who went above and beyond to make the experience for our family thoroughly enjoyable. Amazing conservation work. Thank you to all the team.

Ukutula is an amazing experience. The rooms are top notch and the people can't do enough for you and are just so respectful. The care that they show for all of the animals is genuine and beautiful. The animals welfare is extremely important to them, and is as it should be. We walked with lions and interacted with the babies. The animals were respected at all times. It was a beautiful, once in a lifetime experience. We will never forget our time there.

To be honest it was a dream come true.never in a million years would have expected everything that came with this place. I only wished that I could have share it with someone. The staff was amazing I give everyone credit specially tumi and tshego. Also got to finally see a tiger which wasn’t the plan since there mostly in Asia. To the female owner who I got to also meet “Bravo”.

We spent 5 days at Ukatula and considered extending as our trip neared an end. We stayed in the Leadwood lodge and the entire family loved it. The remote location allowed us the experience of staying the the bush with the amenities of a 4 bedroom house. From the fire pit to the billiard table, there was something to do for everyone. During dawn and dusk walks around the house we saw Kudu and Wildebeest within 200 meter of the house. On several occasions we heard the lions calling in the distance. The care takers of the house were on top of everyone of our requests and helped us make the stay and enjoyable one. Godfrey and his wife was very hospitable and accommodating. The location was great as well. Not only did we have quick close access to the activities at Ukatula, it was only a hours drive to Pilanesberg where we did our own self guided safari. The activities at Ukaltula seemed to be scaled back due to the time of year we visited (July), however everything we wanted to do was available to us. From walking with three lions to petting cheetahs and lion cubs, it was an amazing experience. Should we go back to South Africa and want to get away from civilization again, this would be at the top of my list.
As I do work in high level hotels I have a certain level of standards. I will say the accommodations were perfect for us, but if you are looking for a Four Seasons experience, this is not. The lodge had all the basic amenities, but nothing above and beyond and there were wildlife interaction in the home (ants mostly). That being said, the hospitality of the staff was on par with 4-5 star service and that matters more to me than the accommodation standards.
If you are looking for a great get away from the city and are looking for something centrally location yet secluded, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Ukatula!

I don't even know where to begin! This was such an magnificent lodge with all the amenities that one could ask for. We had a person who would help us through our stay. She was so informative and kept us update as to what we were doing everyday. The animal encounter, lion walk and game drives are all a must do. The handlers, guides and all staff are so knowledgeable with the animals and really take such care with the animals on the grounds. We as a family left with many memories! Thank you Jeanette, Jackie and Monique for entertaining our son when we did the lion walk. He will never forget feeding the "Devils".

We visited this place for one night in July 2018, two adults and two kids aged 10 and 11. Lovely, spacious and clean lodges. We sat on the decking outside the lodge at night, looking at the stars and listening to the lovely lions roar.

If you are going to stay on a self catering basis, shop before you go as the closest shop is 30 minutes away( part of which is on a dirt road).

The introduction to the big cats was included in the price, great guides and healthy looking animals. Both kids thought this was the best day in the six week holiday 😀

We stayed two nights & were warmly welcomed (despite the fact that the management experienced some disappointment with some staffmembers, who affected the offerd program tremendously, everything was nice, friendly & well arranged)
The condition for this time of the year is excellent. The grounds & surroundings are very clean & well maintained, in fact very inviting. The rooms are very cozy & beautiful decorated. There is a microwafe, Sugar, Tea & Instant coffee.
Tho only thing we can say negatively is that we think, the prices at the restaurant are to expensive for what it is.
As fare as the interaction with the lions... It is probably the most amazing thing you can possible do with wild animals. A breathtaking & very intense moment.
Thank you for all the work & the passion.
