Reception 10/10 -Very organised, friendly staff. Hotel cleanliness 10/10 - Everywhere spotless . Proactive on Covid procedures. Grounds & pool 10/10 -Pletty of sun beds. Grounds are Pristine. Bars and Alcohol 7/10 -Lager was fine, shorts and cocktails were very weak, Staff were great . Bedroom 6/10 - Great size modern room, always clean, water hot. Disappointed in the small balcony with no sun, small towels, HDMI socket on the TV did not work, Only Sky news and Pick TV. Pick TV+1 needs replacing as English slot wasted. No coffee making facilities and no iron. Wi-Fi 10/10 - Fantastic . 1GB D/L Animation Team 8/10 - Worked hard to get people involved in. Activities are all similar. Entertainment 8/10 - Better than average for Rui standards. Seating capacity is very limited and we only manage to get a seat one 1 night out of 7 seating capacity I would rate at 3/10 Location 4/10 - Lovely views and nice walks, Nothing much outside the hotel. I found one English bar which was great called the Britannia inn. Loads of sport, reasonable quality drinks and great hosts. Food 3/10 - Unfortunately this hotel ranks bottom of the pile of 6 Riu hotel visits. The food is well presented and looks nice but don’t be fooled by appearance. The food was never hot and of poor quality. Sprouts for breakfast? The menu is is very repetitive and all the meat is tough. Burgers are very spicy and hot dog sausages are tasteless. Veal steaks were tough as old boots in the Grill.

We looked forward to our holiday as visited this hotel in 2017 and 2018. We were initially impressed by the complete renovation of the building and pool areas. Rooms were clean and despite being smaller were modern with comfortable beds. Entertainment was mostly good but seating was often not available as chairs and tables were taken. Big let down was the food which was repetitive and often cold . We both were ill for 3 days with stomach problems and I had to call for a doctor as I felt so bad. I remember the food was much better on our previous visits. The hotel looks 4 star in every aspect until you eat there. Not sure if we will go back there again

We stayed there for a week, our first time, we had previously booked the hotel a few times but it was always cancelled because of COVID travel restrictions. It has been renovated to a very good standard, nice areas to sit and have a drink in the evening. Plenty of swimming pools, I tried them all and I can't really say which one was the warmest. Plenty of space to sunbathe. Plenty of places to get a drink, lots of self service for beer and soft drinks. My only complaint is that the beer is very weak, it's Amstel which should be 4% strength but I am sure it wasn't. It's the only alcoholic drink that I drink so that was disappointing. The room was nice, free safe, fridge with water on arrival and you can collect more bottles from the bar. The food was good, I liked the cheese selection in the main restaurant of an evening. We tried the Atlantic restaurant and the Asian restaurant, both were well presented especially in the Asian however we were happy with the main restaurant. Would we return? The answer is yes, before even visiting the hotel we already had made two more reservations for next year. As I say my only complaint is the beer, maybe they could sell premium lager at a reduced reasonable price for anyone wanting a decent beer. All the staff were very friendly. Thank you Riu Buenavista.

Stayed for our ‘mini moon’ was ok but a bit disappointing in a few areas. Hotel check in lacked information and tui reps not present at check in. Overall, hotel seems to be aimed at the older generation with subtle entertainment and early finishes. Nothing else in the area either for a later night / dancing! Pools - 5 pools, all are lovely but the activity pool was busiest as the only heated one. The layout however is sideways to the sun so all beds face the wrong way so be careful not to cook on one side only! Pool activities like volley ball were good. Music very quiet and sedated if you want louder / livelier bring your own! Very clean though and plenty of beds / umbrellas. Food - very much the same each day, minimal variation. Sometimes luke warm but generally ok. There are 3 restaurants you can book - the Grill, an Italian and an Asian. Unfortunately we couldn’t get into the Asian so can’t comment on that one. The grill and Italian were poor, not much different to the main buffet options. Both were self service buffet and the food wasn’t great. Eg, Lasagne with barely any filling & pizza like cardboard. Was expecting nice fresher options and maybe table service for a ‘more special experience’ not a further buffet. Really bored of the food after 4 nights. There is a snack pool bar and also a late night fridge / microwave to reheat burgers / hotdogs etc. Rooms - very good sized rooms and clean. Comfy beds and very nice. Big balcony. Entertainment - some was good. The most annoying things were that they insisted we download the app to know what the program was, however it was always wrong. Shows just didn’t appear and entertainment finished earlier than stated. People sat waiting for things and they don’t happen. The animation team did a good Hollywood show but other than that it was quizzes on apps etc. the background music aimed at older guests and no real ‘lively’ vibe fit younger guests. Lots of patio heaters as all based outside and it’s a bit chilly at this time of year at night. Defo take a jumper or two. We put in special requests as on our honeymoon but none were given eg, requested a pool view (got car park view!) No shop in the hotel for essentials and no information given about what’s available nearby. We did have a nice stay but glad it was a short one. Been to much better Riu hotels so won’t be rushing back to this one. .

Fantastic stay here in November 2021. Lobby very spacious, modern and clean. Rooms are large and clean with huge balconies. The all inclusive is great, any drink you could want is available - especially the mojito is lovely. The food is what you pay for - nothing fancy. Breakfast is slightly let down by the lack of hash browns and they have frankfurter sausages instead of normal sausages. Sometimes the food can be lukewarm/cold but always a good selection. The Italian restaurant is very good however, (does need to be booked in advance) and the Grill restaurant has a great view. The pools are all great, 1 is heated. Lots of good activities also including Aqua Gym, zorbing and water volleyball. Good split between some music and activities but the adult only pool is far enough away to be relaxing so a good mix. Great evening entertainment and lovely staff - special mention to Claudio behind the lobby bar, Mario who was part of the entertainment team and Juan who was a waiter - all fantastic. Overall the stay was lovely, we will definitely be back and for the price we paid with Tui, it certainly exceeded our expectations!
