Detailed Reviews
My wife and I regularly visit South Africa and for the first time stayed in this Cape Dutch style small luxury hotel. Our bedroom and bathroom were spacious with a terrace overlooking the swimming pool, the gardens attractive and the restaurant served excellent cuisine. We particularly liked the drawing room where guests can help themselves to gin, whiskey, brandy and port. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

What a fantastic hotel. We found the Andros by accident and are absolutely delighted that we did! The hotel has very comfortable rooms which have everything you need, and a very laid back (but attentive) relaxed style. The food is excellent with breakfast on the terrace a particular highlight. What really makes this hotel stand out is the terrific service - as good as anywhere I have stayed. Of course, it’s easier in a small hotel but we really were made to feel the most important people in the world by everyone at the hotel. The fact that this culture of exceptionally high quality service runs all the way through the staff is a great credit to the hotel management and owners. It seems unreasonable to single out any members of staff when everyone was superb, but a special mention and thank you to Charmaine, Tiffany and Alan. We have already booked to return and if you stay here you will not be disappointed.

This is a superb hotel set in beautiful grounds and gardens. What sets this hotel apart from many of the 5 star hotels we have stayed in around the world is the outstanding personal service provided by the staff and management team. They made our stay memorable and if we needed a reason to return to Cape Town for the fourth time then it would be so we could stay at the Andros again. Our bedroom was huge and well furnished. Sleep quality was excellent. Breakfast choices were amazing. We enjoyed a complimentary (large) pink gin and tonic in the drawing room every evening from the selection of spirits that were available. Lovely pool area also. the Andros is a superb hotel.

My experience was a 5 star experience. The staff went out of their way to be of assistance and made me feel like a valued customer. My room was luxurious and beautifully appointed, with a large bathroom. The linen was fresh and crisp cotton and the pillows were very comfortable. Compared to similar hotels, like the Vineyard Hotel, this hotel was half the price per room, and excellent value for money. All in all, I have been very impressed with this hotel and I will definitely return.

I usually stay at another hotel when I visit CT, but I'd been to Homespun on my last visit and discovered The Andros, and so decided to give it a try. It is refreshingly obvious that whoever runs the hotel cares about small things, and everything is designed with taste and comfort in mind. I loved the spacious and quiet rooms, the friendly staff, the range of drinks, the atmosphere, and the general sense of solitude and quietness the place evokes. With bigger hotels, you might get a little lost in it all, and have to deal with too many people; not at The Andros. It truly is the boutique experience. I thought it was a little over-priced but as I reflect on the elegance and the little touches, I would definitely choose it for my next weekend stay. The staff who work at The Andros are committed to its success, and their friendly and helpful attitude means the vision of the owner is as important to them as well. Top end accommodation.

My wife and I was looking for a quite local place to enjoy a night away from our twins, we could not have chosen better.
From the moment we arrived, the staff were attentive and knowledgeable, the food was on point, we didn’t leave the property for the entire stay.
The room was spacious and so much attention to detail, with a lot of complementary drinks (couldn’t finish it all), the room service was quick and the meals arrived perfectly.
We booked for dinner at Homespun the onsite restaurant and we were simply blown away, amazing service and brilliant experiential dining at great value for money. It was so nice to wonder back to our room nearby (no driving) after a bottle of wine.
We enjoyed a treatment at the spa, gym and sauna were quiet and well kept.
Breakfast included was superb and it was the ideal way to end a quick getaway.
We will definitely be back and highly recommend The Andros, thank you so much!

Sadly a very poor experience at the Andros. I sent an email 4 days before my visit requesting a room in the Manor House, no reply was ever received. Do not stay in Room 4, it is located right next to the kitchen extractor fan, so the entire room vibrates and having any windows open is impossible because of the noise. It does go off at 10:30pm, back on at 5:45am! When I complained, the manager was fairly indifferent, clearly I’m not the first person to complain. She did comp my mini fridge bill, but I can’t understand how they can use that room for paying guests. Instant coffee was also a surprise for a 5 star hotel.

We had a delightful stay at The Andros. We received a warm welcome and all the staff are absolutely amazing! A big thank you to Charmaine, Tecnor and Caroline for your outstanding service. Our room was just perfect – Charmaine was an angel and already warmed the room just perfectly, before our arrival. We enjoyed our morning coffee outside, watching the sun as it painted beautiful pictures in the garden. Just bliss… Breakfast was scrumptious, and we could taste the love in our meals. This is the perfect place to revive and rejuvenate.

This is my second visit, and the experience met all my previous expectations. The staff are friendly & personable, and they have a fabulous resident golden Lab call Harvey.
The spa is great and affordable, the rooms amazing with a complementary mini bar and pantry.
The breakfast is where they get 11/10. The most amazing selection of local fruits and grains , together with a menu to choose anything else you want
11/10 all round

Dear Andrea, the Andros is in a quiet area of the town, not too far from the waterfront, and you can have taxis/ transfers or I think even a shuttle? ( but check for sure with the hotel) to go where. I don t think it is in optimal walking distance, but it depends what you are searching for... if whaterfront for shopping or dinner, than I would say take Andros, its easier from there to go for example to the cape of good hope. Andros is calm and a relaxed oasis. if you search more "movida" take something directly at the waterfront, but be aware, that at waterfront there is a lot of traffic jam... so if you plan tours... not ideal. best regards Corina
