Good hotel with beautiful reception. Keep it up. The food at the restaurant is amazing. The rooms are extremely clean. I wouldn't forget the warm reception at the gate by the guards. My interactions with every staff here was amazing. This is a place i certainly want to visit again

We spent one more time for 5 nights in Clarence House in Jan. 2012 and were again charmed from the moment we arrived. The B&B house design retains all the natural character of the building with modern and comfortable facilities you would expect from a boutique hotel, great and cosy design, lovely rooms, pool and attentive service.
The breakfast choice was a delight and we also enjoyed a lovely meal in the house with the owners and guests one evening.
The house provides plenty of information. All the staff were extremly friendly, efficient and helpful, the pool was lovely and service exellent- in short a really great place to stay !

We would definitely recommend Clarence House for a stay. We felt welcome and at home here. Our hosts were great and very accommodating. The setting is very peaceful and quiet. We had a beautiful view of the mountain. The cleanliness is off the charts! Breakfast al fresco, but sheltered from the elements and very good. This is where we'll stay when we're next in Cape Town.

While I can see some reason for good reports on this establishment, I felt taken advantage of financially. We arrived after two nights of flying to S. A. and needed two nice quiet rooms to recoup. We got those rooms, booked in at 10am (as carefully arranged), stayed that day and then that night, leaving early the next morning before breakfast. For this period of accommodation (about 20 hours) and no breakfast we were charged for what seemed to be two regular, full days of accommodation. This charge did not tally up with what we had understood to be the charges for the time we agreed on staying when we originally booked. I felt brushed off when we discussed the billing and that further "discussion" would have been less than advantageous or unpleasant. Naturally, I was disappointed and would not recommend the place.

I stayed here early February 2015 and was made very welcome and was well taken care of. Personal service, clean, quiet - great. It is like staying in an Italian villa. The area is quiet and safe to walk in, even alone and at night.

We stayed at Clarence House for 5 nights in April 2014 and were made very welcome. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom clean and huge. Freddy even drove us into Cape Town instead of organising a taxi or other form of transport.
To be recommended to anyone who prefers a bit of peace and quiet, but still close to Cape Town city. Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens only 10min away.

Thank you a lot for the good time in your house. When ever we will travel to Cape Town again, we would like to stay in your beautiful, lovely and clean home. We enjoyed it a lot. The mornings started with a delicious breakfast and the friendly host. It was interesting to hear something about the region and even to speak Swiss German. Great. Thank you also for the help with the dentist and of course the fun with Cico doggie. See you again.

We have travelled the world extensively but no B&B compares to the homely experiene of Clarence House. We first came across Clarence House when our usual B&B was fully booked (we left it too late)......after phoning around we were recommended Clarence House and we have never stayed any where else in the past 4 years. Armin and Freddy are the perfect hosts and we have even now become one of the family with our daughter regularly creating havoc in the kitchen.
