Detailed Reviews
A guide to our high regard for this property is that we have been going there from the UK for at least 15years. Graham and his team show a very high regard for personal service - rooms are good, breakfasts freshly cooked varied and excellent plus prepared fresh fruit and croissants etc.
The property is in a very pleasant quiet suburban area with about 4 spaces for private parking and on street parking. Some self catering and small swimming pool. There are about 6 lovely restaurants within 5 minutes walk in adjacent 2nd Avenue - good security at night time. There are many more within a 10 minute walk.
The location is excellent for visiting Newlands for the cricket or rugby ( a pleasant 15 minute walk ), getting around Cape Town and its beaches and well located near Kingsbury private hospital. An excellent guest house.

I needed a place to self isolate as I had flown back from the UK and was concerned I could be a asymptomatic carrier. The self catering cottage at Harfield Guest Villas was perfect. They asked me to provide a shopping list and stocked up kitchen and fridge full of my favourite foods and drinks. I had more than enough space and was able to alternate between work, watching DSTV, sitting in the courtyard listening to the birds. Very comfortable. Lovely linen. I would highly recommend this as option for self isolation. However, if you just need a quiet beautiful self catering cottage - this is your place

We stayed for 6 nights as we were there to see England play cricket at Newlands. Graham, the owner, was a great host. Very welcoming and helpful. Our room was lovely and full of character. The breakfasts were very good with lots of choices both hot and cold. It was ideally located for local restaurants and bars and felt comfortable and safe walking around. Graham did go the extra mile to help us out when I hurt my hand. Would definitely stay again!

Graham immediately made us feel right at home with a welcome cup of coffee. Breakfasts where delicious.
The room was large, great for our long stay, I also delighted in our view of the mountain from our window and deck.
The guest is well situated for café style restaurants within walking distance and Cavindish 5 minutes by car.

What makes this place special is the owner,Graham. Our group was greeted upon arrival and every need we had was taken care of promptly. Graham offers a very comfortable place to stay with all the amenities along with a delicious home cooked brakfast daily. There are several great restaurants within walking distance from the Villas and the view of Table mountain is beautiful! I would highly recommend.

Originally me and my wife ended up in a ghetto and “Good Samaritian” picked us up and we ended up in Harfield Guest Villa. What an amazing stay!!!
Area is safe. Just a block away there are many different restaurants. Host is the most welcoming guy, amazing mate! Optional breakfast is simple but tasty! As I mentioned already, area is safe to stay, You may enjoy early morning walks etc… but if You enjoy the view of the Table Mountain in horizon… I know I did. Oh and I didn’t mention hosts wine bar - had some good tastying!
Anyway there not enough words in my vocabulary to say all the good things!!! I definitely try to be honest in my reviews, so guys if You plan to visit Cape Town and looking a stay, I highly recommend!

I only booked for 3 nights, and actually I wished I’d stayed here longer.
Graham is a very nice, helpful chap who is happy to accommodate deviations from the norm.
For example - after checking out, Graham allowed me to leave my car safely there for the day and then to come back later and get changes ready for my flight home. There is a bathroom I could use and I’m pretty sure he would have let me have a shower if I had asked (I did this later at the airport to kill time).
I had the Mountain View room, which was huge and had a decent sized bathroom with roll too bath.
(I had showers due to the water shortage).
Bed and linen extremely comfy.
Definitely recommended, and I’ll be back.

Graham Rowe has welcomed us into his villa on two occasions and both times, we have left feeling that we were at home. His villa is ideal for all visiting Cape Town and has an added bonus of a Table Mountain backdrop. He also cooks up some delicious meals. Highly recommended by Leigh's Lounge.

Spent 3 nights here in September as part of a group visiting/birding around Cape Town. A lovely location, on a quiet street, with large rooms and a bath with separate shower and tub. Well cared for and maintained. Great ambiance. There is a pool, but way to cold when we were there to even think about that. A good location with plenty of restaurant choices for lunch and dinner just a three minute walk away. The host, Grahame, works hard to make your stay comfortable. Breakfasts are good with fruit, cereal, yogurt and a hot plate (eggs, toast, bacon, mushrooms, etc.). Filling and delicious. Roxy, the house dog, is a treat – super friendly and keeps an eye on the place. Definitely recommend this location if visiting the area.
