A wonderful experience in every respect. Rooms are exquisite, food exceptional and the staff extremely friendly. It felt as if we were family. The setting and layout of the lodge is superb with a lovely simming pool for the hot summer days.

We have just come back from Ngala Lodge. We actually took over the whole lodge! We were warmly welcomed by Jonathan who was a great host. The accommodation was lovely with a great deal of attention to detail with lovely pieces of furniture and features which reflected the nature reserve we were staying in.
The chef served up delicious fillet steak and lamb that were cooked on the barbecue. The table was beautifully set up with linen napkins at all meals. The other staff could not have been more helpful.
Lovemore took us on 2 wonderful game drives which were lucky enough to see 4 of the big 5 as well as numerous other wildlife and fauna.
I would recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a small lodge that had a boutique feel about it and great service with wonderful wildlife. Each morning the zebra wandered into our garden for breakfast and every evening the wildebeest joined us around the pool for drinks. We hope to return to this great lodge again.

From the moment we walked in we were greeted by the luxury of the lodge, a peaceful setting in the bush and the friendliest staff. The main lodge and all the rooms were well equipped and the food prepared by Timothy was 10/10. We enjoyed our Game drives and stops for sundowners and early morning coffees. I hope to be back at Ngala soon!

We spent our anniversary weekend here and from our arrival the lodge and the hospitality exceeded our wildest expectations. It was the perfect choice for a romantic getaway.
The rooms are well appointed and luxurious with all the little details. Zebras and Nyalas coming right onto our doorstep of our room and drinking near the pool area adds to the charm.
It is a small lodge which we loved, with only 4-5 rooms in total it really felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. Walk a few steps out of your front door and you are at the main lodge for meals.
Food is exceptional, Timothy is really a high calibre chef and Michael’s cheesecake is to die for. Timothy catered to our dietary requirements and is flexible depending on your tastes and preferences. Menard and Precious took really good care of us. The staff are really warm and hospitable. The personal attention, intimacy and tranquility made my wife and I dub this lodge as the ‘Maldives of the bush’.
Lovemore took us on game drives which we really enjoyed and unlike other lodges we could have a sleep-in and go for drives at our leisure. With limited guests each drives us a private experience. Woolies snacks on the drives so you’re well fuelled.
We absolutely loved the decor of the main lodge, Annelize really looks after all the little finer details and spared no expense to ensure it is a 5 star deluxe property.
Thank you to all the staff for a memorable trip, I honestly have ZERO criticism for this property. It really it is a perfect lodge with perfect service. We definitely will be back.

We spent a couple of nights here as a group of four adults; we received a really warm welcome from the outset and were delighted with our choice of accommodation.
The rooms are well appointed and luxurious we enjoyed a really good nights sleep. Zebras were a real treat right onto our doorstep of and eating grass so near to us.
We had the entire place to ourselves as the lodge has 5 rooms in total . It was a real treat to return after the evening game drive to a roaring fire outside and a fabulous 3 course meal.
The food was exceptional, Timothy is really a high talented chef and alongside ,Menard Precious and Micheal who took such good care of us all with nothing beingtoo much trouble. They were all really warm and hospitable. The personal attention we received was exceptional; and they make you feel like “family” with their warmth and friendliness. Keep up the good work guys you make an amazing team.
Lovemore our ranger was so knowledgeable and took us on some fabulous game drives. we all really enjoyed them and even on a particularly rainy day appreciated how they kitted us all out with a full set of waterproofs which other game drives didn’t provide.
It was a fabulous start to our two week tour of South Africa and we have no hesitation in recommending Ngala Lodge to our friends and family here in the UK, We cannot fault our stay and have no complaints at all; we just regret that we didn’t stay longer, maybe next time.

Ngala is a lovely place with very accommodating staff. The place is zen-like with its modern concrete and wood accented cottages and common areas in a lovely natural setting with wildlife from the reserve rambling onto the grounds at times. The stay at Ngala was a perfect ending to an intense week-long work trip to Pretoria. It is very conveniently located, as it was quick and easy to get from Pretoria to Ngala and from Ngala to the OR Tambo airport. As mentioned, the staff were very accommodating (e.g., whipping up vegetarian meals for me in a pinch because I forgot to alert them to my dietary restrictions) while also setting a low key and homey vibe. In sum, a lovely, unpretentious place with great staff and reasonable rates.

A nice suggestion would be a bottle of still, filtered or mineral water next to each bed in the evenings. We frequently ran out of water in the lodge and it was a pain to get up and go to the fridge in the middle of the night,
Also for the kosher guests, to have a kosher apperitif when they get back from the game drive like a shot of Absolut vodka.
Overall, our stay was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselevs, thank you!

The staff & owners at Ngala lodge are simply amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for Timothy, Precious and team. The nourishing breakfasts and delicious home cooked dinners made from the freshest and best quality ingredients, made you wish your stay was longer.
Lovemore made sure our game drives were worth the early morning & the cold evening start… an excellent tracker who did his utmost and did not give up until we had seen 4 out of the big 5
The cozy fires and comfortable rooms ensured a restful stay. Strong WiFi for those that need it 😊.
Excellent private getaway… will be back soon

The lodge is beautiful, well equipped, everything one would expect of a game lodge is at your disposal, the staff are friendly, professional and tentative, very aware of their guests’ needs. Access to game vehicle and lovely game drives with the most friendliest Guide. We will certainly be back, for us nature at your doorstep. Thank You!

We recently had a workshop with a client at Ngala and I absolutely loved it. The informal environment provided for our workshop really assisted with setting the tone for our workshop. The food was incredible, the staff where super friendly and helpful, the game drive was amazing, the rooms are great. I cannot fault our overnight stay at Ngala. Thanks again to both Annalize and her son for being so accommodating, helpful and friendly.
