Ngala Review If you don’t want to read the whole of this review - then I shall make this brief! Stop looking and book Ngala. Full stop. This place and the people are just wonderful. You won’t regret it. For those of you who want the whole review…here we go! If there were 6 stars to give to Ngala then I’d gladly give them. The whole visit was just wonderful. To start; the booking process was very easy. Annelize communicates clearly and well via Email and WhatsApp. The process could not have been easier. She took the info I gave her and put together a package including transfers and accommodation. Deposit payment was then also very straightforward, easy and secure. From the moment we’d been in touch nothing was an issue and I was convinced we’d picked the right place. Our driver was there to meet us at Johannesburg on arrival after good communications from the transport supplier. Our driver Vincent was a superstar. Friendly and kind and the vehicle was new and clean. Vincent kindly helped us by stopping at a supermarket en route to Ngala. The drive to Ngala is easy and straightforward from Johannesburg. About 1hr45mins. We arrived at Ngala and the staff were there to meet us. These folks are just the most wonderful hosts. They are: Menard, Precious, Timothy, Michael, and Elias. You’ll LOVE them! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home. Our bags were whisked to our rooms and we were served a welcome cocktail whilst we soaked up our new home for a few days. Ngala has a central “living” lodge and then all of the bungalows are accessed via raised walkways. It needs to be mentioned that throughout the property there has been great attention to detail and good taste both in appointments and furnishings. Modern cast and polished concrete meets beautiful leather couches and rattan - it has been finished with great taste. The main lodge has a lounge, a dining area, a kitchen and the most wonderful outdoor deck space with another dining table, a pool with loungers and lawns . These same lawns were where Zebra and other wildlife came to graze day and night. The space is light, double height with large windows and is also equipped with fireplaces - really it is quite wonderful. Wifi is reliable and available through the property (if you need to be connected!) As for the accommodations…..again; wonderful! The bungalows are nearly all the same design with the exception of one which has two bedrooms rather than one. The’y are really well desig

A wonderful experience in every respect. Rooms are exquisite, food exceptional and the staff extremely friendly. It felt as if we were family. The setting and layout of the lodge is superb with a lovely simming pool for the hot summer days.

From the moment we arrived we knew we had arrived somewhere special. Not only were the surroundings and lodge spectacular, the warm welcome we received made us feel instantly at home. We loved the environment, we loved the decor , we loved the food, we loved the game drives but most of all we really must give a special mention to all the wonderful staff who looked after us royally, they were warm, friendly, attentive. We couldn’t have asked for more. The whole Ngala experience from the moment we were met at the airport to the moment we left was truly first class! We would highly recommend Ngala and are already planning our next visit. Thank you Benn & Ombi

Thank you to all at Ngala Lodge for making our stay so idyllic. The venue is absolutely superb with such attention to detail. We were most comfortable. The decor, ambiance and openness of the venue is wonderful! But best of all is the staff. To the last one they were professional, attentive and so kind. Highy recommended!

We booked out the lodge for our birthday weekend and it was so lovely! We opted for the self catering, but still the chef, Timo, cooked all our food for us. It’s definitely the best lodge in Dinokeng by far and we always love coming back to stay! This was our 5th stay at Ngala and it never disappoints.

We booked Ngala Lodge exclusively for our Danish friends and family who had travelled to SA for our wedding early March 2023 for 3 nights. I cannot thank Annalize enough for the care and top notch service our guests and us received from day of arrival until the final day. The lodge itself is easy to get to from Joburg or Pretoria placed in Dinokeng Game reserve; a big 5 reserve. How it's set out, the main area décor, bathrooms and bedrooms is beautiful. Our guests loved the pool, boma and the plenty seating! and the Nyala's appearing in the garden were a hit. The staff were so friendly and so professional with coffee and drinks always available! The attention to detail also, a special personalised gift & card for us newlyweds in our bedroom & food arranged for the 3 days Annalize arranged for us and our guests- was beyond our expectation. I would definitely recommend Ngala lodge for an amazing stay and city break in the bush. And the Ngala Lodge's game ranger was rated the best in the area by other game rangers too! Thank you Annalize and team! Us and our 'vikings' loved our stay.
