Great place to go camping. It's right in the Dinokeng Reserve, so is quiet and peaceful. You can see the whole campsite is well run, with a lot of attention to detail. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Ablutions also, are first class. What a pleasure to find a place like this so close to Joburg. We really enjoyed it and for sure, we'll be back.

Awesome place to camp, quiet and close to nature. The place is clean, with well kept gardens, stunning clean ablutions and a pool to relax in. If you need to unwind and relax, this is the place, it is quiet and relaxing.

If you want to visit a big five resort close to either JHB or Pretoria and you can’t afford the exorbitant prices the lodges charge, look To Willem’s Rus to go camping in style. The hosts, Hannes & Anton treat you like 5 *, the ablutions are immaculate, the pool is awesome and clean and to top it off, the camp sites are well maintained and just far enough apart not to be irritating. Overall a great experience... we will be back

What really sets this campground apart , is their attention to detail. You will not find better ablutions anywhere. Really classy fixtures and fittings together with small bonuses like soaps , towels and even an automatic aromatic spray keeping the place smelling fresh and inviting. We also really appreciated the wonderful stainless steel grids on the portable braais. Each campsite has its own one which gets cleaned daily. Its no wonder they have to lock them away after you leave ;-) This really is a bush camp on another level.

Beautiful camp site very close to Pretoria. Nestled in the Dinokeng game reserve, 30 minutes from Pretoria is the Willems Rus camp site. Very large camp site under shade trees with green grass. Each site has power and water, and no 24 had it's own private boma in the bush. Large enough for three caravans or campers. The pool was empty, but not worried as it was in the middle of winter. The ablusions are high end and practical. There was some thumping music somewhere on one of the other plots - the only negative.

We were camping at Willems Rus for the weekend. The whole camp is so well maintained, the lawns are neatly mowed and each stand has its own movable large braai. Nothing is out of place but on each stand you still have the bush feeling! The ablution facilities are the best I have ever seen at a camping site. Looks more like a hotel bathroom than that of a campsite, clean and neat and dry at all times.Ladies bathroom even have a separate makeup and hair drying area! a Must for camp lovers.

This campsite in the malaria free Dinokeng Game Reserve is just what the doctor ordered to relax, enjoy the bushveld and not to be bothered by the neighbors. Not all 25 sites campsite are shaded, but all are covered with lawn, serviced by an electricity point, a tap, dustbin and a nice movable braai. Kids looking for entertainment should focus on the "small" things in live, and families could rather spend time in the bush, educating themselves. Our campsites were blessed with a family of bush babies, camping in the tree on our doorstep the whole week-end. Watering holes right next to the fence are visited by game and birds.

Our stand was without shade. It was fine because we have a airconditioner and ice machine. When the electricity goes out you have no water and the electricity stayed out for more than a day. When it came on again it surged. The airconditioner could not work, the fan was going fast and slow, The kettle took 15 minutes to boil. Once the electricity was on it kept tripping and the managers would blame it on Eskom while the reception office's electricity was on. One night my cousin went and switched on the electricity which was again blamed on Eskom. When I took it up with Jeanette again on the fifth day she picked a fight with me and told me to be realistic. Eventually my husband took it up with them and they admitted that they have a problem with the electricity on our stand and hooked us up to the electricity kitchen. When I asked her to call a electrician, she replied that her electrician is only back on 15 January 2018. This should have been done on the first day we complained. Furthermore we used the pool daily due to the high heat and no relief, the pool was however so dirty you could not even see your knees. This is a huge safety risk because if a child falls in that pool you will not even be able to see him. An absolutely frustrating holiday, worth nothing!

Mooi onderhouden camping met 24 plaatsen met verschillende plekken uitzicht op een van de 2 waterholes. Plek 13 is mooiste. Groot zwembad. Toen wij er waren, was er geen water water, maar toiletgebouw is schoon en netjes. Echter R490 is wel prijzig ivm andere plekken in Dinokeng Nature Reserve

Willem’s Rus is a campsite and caravan park situated in the malaria free Dinokeng Game Reserve. The campsite has 24 only stands that are separated by natural vegetation. The sites are shaded and well covered with lawn. All sites have a electricity point, a tap, dustbin and a very nice movable braai. Wood and ice is available on site. A long extension cord is, however, recommended as the electricity point could be quite a distance from your tent or caravan. Own transport is a requirement. There is a basic shop, liquor store and filling station 4km from the campsite, but I recommend that you bring all your own provisions. There are a number of restaurants in the vicinity, but opening hours could be a problem. The ablutions are very comfortable and kept spotlessly clean. The only other facility on site is a lovely outdoor pool. This campsite is for relaxation in nature and not for those seeking laid-on entertainment and activities. Will definitely visit again and again.
