Tshikwalo Game Lodge is situated within the malaria-free Dinokeng Game Reserve, the first free-roaming Big-5 game reserve in Gauteng and offers an amazing African bush experience for local and international visitors. The name of the lodge has its origin in the Monkeythorn tree or Tshikwalo as it is known in Venda. This beautiful specimen tree is known to provide dappled shade, a very true reflection what you will experience at Tshikwalo Game Lodge. Tshikwalo Game Lodge is a mere 30 minutes’ drive north of Pretoria and a 60 minutes’ drive from O.R. Tambo International Airport and Johannesburg.

Spent the weekend at Tshikwalo and had an excellent stay. Every staff member was friendly and courteous and the chalets were very comfortable, can’t wait to go back. Had a number of meals in the restaurant and received excellent value for money meals that were well prepared. Staff were amazing

Great stay - staff are super super friendly, place is really well maintained and neat and rooms are comfortable (but very small - at least our chalet #5). We had an awesome bush dinner and the chef was able to put together some vegetarian meals for me. Lodge was busy but you don’t feel crowded at all. I would recommend the place :-) Shout out to Sihle (our waitress), Carla (ranger and staff member), Felix (chef), Kumbukani (manager)
