We’ve booked for 3 nights as a couple. The supposedly advertise couples rented retreat is 5m away from the next couples retreated tent. So u literally retreated 5 m away from the next couple. There is absolutely NO privacy. So don’t come here if u want privacy. Walk-way is built right in front of each tented camp so expect to be surprised by anyone anytime and the bathroom looks out at the tented camp behind your tented camp. No allocated parking and everyone walks past your tent anytime all the time. The shower isn’t built for anyone taller than 1,7m. The bath is huge but can’t be filled as the geyser doesn’t have enough water. The view of the sunset is great but except for the random 4x4 in the way. The service was ok. The places are clean. But certainly isn’t aimed at privacy. More hostel, bring your friends kinda get away. I wouldn’t recommend Ngata to anyone.

Glamping tents were lovely with queen (?) bed, bath, shower, basin, loo, fan, usb plugs, electricity, clean, good housekeeping etc. Tents are situated close to each other so one can hear your neighbours. Plenty of "general game", saw ellies, no cats. Good bush. Great variety of restaurants with great atmosphere/food/drink/service to choose from on different camps within Dinokeng. About an hours drive from Joburg so nice weekend/day break. Hosts were friendly.

We booked here as our school teams were playing at Camp Discovery. What a great move this was. The tents are spacious, comfortable and clean. Dinners were really good. The house speciality is their steaks so go for that if your are a beef meat fan. Only downside was the late serving of breakfast.

Friendly staff welcomed us at the lodge. The safari tents are spacious and clean. Outside furniture needs some TLC. The views over the bush and sun sets were amazing. Best surprise was the restaurant (best rib eye steak) and craft beer on tap.

For us, it was a first to stay in a tent, and, coming from Europe, we especially enjoyed the sounds of the African bush - e.g. the roaring of a lion during the night! During daytime, we saw wildebeest, warthogs, zebras and even two giraffes, all from the deck of our tent. The tents really deserve the title luxurious, they´re spacious, very stylish and offer every amenity. Service was excellent, the staff were friendly and most accommodating. Let me especially mention the food: It was simply superb! We would definitely return!

What a Gem in the bush at Dinokeng Game Resort. Felt so welcome on arrival, stayed in their safari tents which are tidy, spacious, clean, and facing the bush. The breakfast outstanding, the dinners divine! Will recommend this lodge and will be back. Thank you Carl and your friendly staff.

Lovely little gem situated in the heart of the Dinokeng Game reserve 45mins outside Pretoria. The owners take pride in the lodge and are always on hand to meet you and to ensure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. You leave as a friend and return as friend. The tents are well thought out, large and very comfortable. You feel you are in the bush far away from the city. Ideal getaway for the weekends.

I was here for 3 days and had a wonderful stay. When we first arrived, they showed us the tents where we would stay. Before arriving, i thought such safari tents would be very basic, but they are very nice. Big bed, shower, bath, toilet and a nice deck to enjoy the sounds of all kinds of animals. The first night, we had dinner in the restaurant and this was really good. The chef came over to have a talk and introduce himself. The next morning, we left the lodge early to drive our own safari. The chef told us that the big 5 were there, but unfortunattely we could only hear a lion and not see one. But what we did see was very beautifull. Zebra, wildebeest, mpala, giraffe, ... Everywhere you look you could see animals. Had a terrific stay and enjoyed some perfect coocked food.
