A very nice little hotel ideal for a short stay. The rooms are really originally decorated. Everything is spotlessly clean. Although the bathroom is situated across the passage, there is one allocated to each room so it's really private. There is a communal kitchen with tea/coffee facilities, etc.
The manager, Andrew, is the perfect host. Will use them again when returning to Bonnievale.
The breakfast at Karins is definitely worth a try.

While it is true that there is no airco (but a fan) and no TV (there's one in the bar) and you have to walk some steps to your private bathroom, we experienced this hotel as a precious place in a special, almost surreal setting: a modern hotel with individually decorated rooms in an agriculture town. The staff is very friendly, we enjoyed the bar with local guests and the pizza is very delecious as well as breakfast. Maybe not the place to stay for a week, but defenitely worth to stay for one or two nights. The only things we did not like was that we did not find power plugs in the room and the internet was not working in the evening.

We've spent only 1 night at the Sofia hotel, this is ideal place if you need a bed only in a well decorated room, but you should be aware :
- No airco,
- No TV,
- Private bathroom means that you have to go out of your room with your keys and walk to your bathroom a few meters at the back. We thought the description on the website is a bit chicky and has mislead us,
- No easy access to a plug: we had to pull the bed by 50cm to access to the only plug of the room,
- no black out curtains : we wake up at 5 am thanks to the beautiful SA sun,
- the coffee room is commune and we were unlicky enough to have an unconsidered client that was very noisy,
- the room is very (I mean very) small,
On the positive side the hotel has a free wifi, a bar opens late and clean. Staff is friendly.

Hi there Thank you very much for the honest feedback. We are now in our 5th month of being fully operational, and welcome your feedback. We will definitely address the plug issue, as well as the blockout curtains. The hotel was renovated with the idea to provide budget accommodation, which is 40% less than the going rate for other accommodation in the area, therefore one should probably not expect all the luxuries. We do apologise if our website were misleading, we will correct this for future guests. The hotel was renovated to be environmentally friendly, therefore we have heatpumps, fans, LED lighting etc. this is another reason why we don't have airconditioned rooms. We really hope to see you again in our beautiful town. Kind Regards Karen and Karin

Wow! Such a lovely hotel.

I sadly only got to spend 2 nights in the hotel, would have loved to stay longer.

The hotel is setup to accommodate any taste, if you're a diva (which I am) you stay in the Hollywood room (which I did). I was treated to quotes on the walls by famous actors and a view on to the town.

I love that every single room is designed uniquely and you can choose one with decor to suit your taste, I can't wait to come back and stay in the Coco Chanel room or maybe the shack- done up in corrugated iron and crates.

The communal kitchen was kept clean at all times and had all the necessities.
The body wash provided was divine, wish they sold it.

I enjoyed my stay and definitely plan to return :)
