We spent 2 nights in this lodge. The location is superb: Melville next to 7th street - a couple of steps from restaurants and cafes but no noise from them! the hosts are really nice and welcoming, the staff friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast

My girlfriend and I visited Thulani lodge in the first half of July 2018. We received great service and hospitality. From Bongi's amazing breakfast, Jason's charisma and enthusiasm, to a lovely and comfortable room. It's great place for couples and families, super close to touristic attractions, and we would strongly recommend it as a place to stay in Johannesburg.

I want to thank Jason, Bongi and the rest of the staff at Thulani Lodge. My husband and I where on a safari when he slipped a disc in his back, we were airlifted to a hospital in Johannesburg, at 10 o'clock that night I was told that I couldn't stay at the hospital with him. So I started calling around to find a room, it seemed everything close to the hospital was booked. I called Thulani Lodge and Jason said yes he had a room and would even send a Uber to the hospital to pick me up. I got to the lodge and I forgot to stop at the ATM to get some local money. Jason said "no problem" paid for my ride and even gave me money for my ride back to the hospital the next morning. Needless to say I didn't spend to much time there but the breakfast was delicious the rooms clean the bed warm and comfortable. The staff went out of their way to make me feel good (even got hugs every morning) I am back in the US my husband is doing well and I just want to thank them once again! Hugs 😍…

The place was amazing.. rooms were tidy and neat ..very well organised .. cozy enviroment , beatiful garden . Best was the staffs . MAMA Boinge .. she was excellent and a great assitance to everything you need . Felt like at home away from home . The area around is safe and restaurants are walking distance .Thank you to thulani lodge for making our short stay worthwhile ...

This isn't my first visit to the lodge. Every time I stay I am treated like a member of the family. This family run lodge provides all one could ask for while staying in the area. Airport transportation, city or museum tours can be arranged by the staff. Prior booking would be helpful. There is a seasonal pool to use. The rooms have new excellent WiFi services. The rooms are clean and have the necessary items for a long or short term stay. I appreciate the provided desk and other furniture in the room to relax or work. Bongi provides an excellent breakfast to fit each person's needs. Just around the corner of Thulani Lodge are small food stores, a book store and several restaurants with different menus that serve food all day. Refrigerators are provided and can be stocked if requested. Laundry service is provided at a small price. I always feel relaxed and pampered when visiting. I look forward to my next trip. Bongi, Jason and Beat thank you for always making me feel so welcome. The friends I have brought over the years feel the same and many have returned. I highly recommend staying here.…
