Best experience I've ever had. My dog also loved it. Take your own beach umbrella, as the pool is not sheltered and it gets hot in the day. I stayed in the Wahenhuis. The cottage gets very hot in the day, so take an extra van. I lived the sunsets and morning walks. The hosts were incredible and welcoming. Take a walk up to the small village and derelict buildings and ruins. I picked up interesting artifacts in the veld. The WiFi was a pleasant luxury. It is self catering, and a bit of a drive from the nearest shops, so be sure to take everything you need. The roads are pleasant and Mt sedan reached it with ease.

What a pleasure! Blissful peace punctuated with bird song, this little cottage is a haven of tranquility. Filled with eclectic treasures gathered over many years, Andre and Ashley have poured their hearts and souls into these cottages. With all amenities covered, including a bucket of fresh rain water, it was a pleasure to make a cup of tea and step out into the pink stained Karoo dawn, listen to the dawn chorus and later, to wallow in my own little pool, embracing the wildness around me and the enormity of sky. At night, Andre made me a fire, because I am too pathetic to make one myself, and it was soothing to hunker down under my crisp sheets with its crackle in the background. It it is the perfect spot to grab some solitude and thinking space.

Such a wonderful stay at Wolverfontein. Ashley is a great host, and everything is thought of! The cottage is a delight, and we wanted for nothing. The splash pool was definitely a win! Would definitely recommend a stay here, and we will be returning.

Another unforgettable stay Wolvefontein - we will be back. Thanks Ashley and Andre for sharing your paradise and for your warm and generous hosting. So enjoyed the endless cycle routes, those special sunsets, the breath-taking evening sky and the tranquility associated with your remote spot. Thanks for the addition of the plunge pool which makes a summer visit very special.

It was the most incredible experience. My doggie and I stayed in De-Waenhuis. It It beautifully decorated, and has all the comforts one needs, yet stays true to being isolated and secluded. Although extremely hot during the day, the early mornings and late afternoons were perfect for walking around the farm, and up to Plathuis. Be sure to look out for hidden treasures amongst the fynbos, I picked up some rusted forgotten items, and placed them on the shrine on the steps next to the cottage. The was such a welcome relief and the perfect spot to watch the sunset from. It was so quiet, you could hear the stones sigh, the bird and animal life, and the wind in the trees. The host were so fr, and the wifi was a welcome luxury. Take sunscreen, a hat and insect repellent. The chalets gave fans, heaters and a fireplace. Each day I received a crate of wood, and fresh water was provided. I will most definitely be back.
