I decided to stay for one night with my GS Adventure motorcycle group. Great place to stay over. accommodation was comfortable, clean and there is a generator for load shedding. Showers were great. nice bedding and linen It was 43 degrees with we arrived, rooms were cool, the little plunge pool and beer service around the pool as most welcomed Service was good, food was okay, lamb tasted like older mutton, but it did the job, was tough and tasted like it was old ish. the staff were great and i will definitely stay there again. (i wont be eating the lamb chops again :))

I've written a review of this establishment before but must say that the hotel has been revitalized and improved to a large extent. The owners have spent a great deal on making this the best place to stay in Steytlerville. All of the rooms have been redecorated and are fresh and "new". The meals served at their restaurant are really good and a true value for money. Francois, our host, was warm, friendly and went the extra mile to make our stay great.

I love the Royal Hotel. From the moment you are greeted with a warm hello and Afrikaans music playing I feel welcome. Everyone is so friendly. I ordered a mouth watering jaffel and pancake with milktart filling. The burgers are also a good option. Everything is reasonably priced. I love sitting on the stoep!

A friend and I did a bike trip and our overnight stay was booked at the Royal Hotel Steytlerville. Our arrival was greeted by friendly and helpful staff who showed us to our room. The rooms were pleasantly furnished but very hot with no ceiling fan or air conditioning, with it being December some cooling down was required. We jumped into the hotel pool to bring the body temp down followed by a few cold beers. Dinner and breakfast were good. Pillows were hard and the room remained stuffy all night so sleep was not great. If the rooms had aircondition or ceiling fans I would have said it was good value but sadly not. Other than that everything else was great for a group of bikers

Having read the reviews perhaps our expectations were too high. We arrived to an empty reception with no one to check us in. Were shown our room which was really well appointed. Had a drink next to the pool - idyllic. Had booked for dinner at 7 pm
Went to the restaurant at 6:45 and stood waiting for someone to appear. 10 mins later we asked a passing waiter about seating. He said we were welcome to seat ourselves which we did. After another 15 mins without any sign of a waiter I went to the bar and asked for a bottle of wine and two glasses. The person behind the bar had no idea of the wines available but when I explained that we were waiting for service she took it upon herself to get us our drinks and to take our order.
Eventually at 8:00 pm we were served our dinner
An unacceptable wait
To her great credit Blossom kept her head and did her best to manage the situation.
Such a shame. With a manager present all the issues could have been avoided and we would have gone to bed well fed and content.

Die Rotsformasies by Draaikrans was fantamagories. Miljoene jare gelede was die Algoa See hier. Dit klink ongelooflik maar dit is waar. The rockformations were formed miljon years ago when the Karoo was at the bottom of Algoa Sea and the high-water temperature caused the rock to become soft and bendable. As the earthplates moved, interesting formations were formed, eg, Waaikrans and Draaikrans.

The Lady De Waal Bridge was built in 1911/12. Dit lyk my Steytlerville is 'n plek van geskiedenis. Die mooiste skoonste dorpie, uiteindelik stop ons voor die Royal hotel. Ons akkommodasie vir die volgende 2 aande. Natuurlik is hier 'n swembad waarin ek gaan afkoel.
The Royal Hotels decor is nicely done, and it lets you feel welcome. Each space was nicely done. The rooms were also classy and redone.
The menu is good and there is a variety of food to pick from. The veggies are nicely prepared and worthwhile trying.
The hotel is in the main street and walking distance of shops and the bridge. The staff treated us like royalty. We could even took our doggie with. Thanks for the treatment we received. It was very nice to learn more of Steytlerville.

A beautiful country hotel, situated in the centre of the village; in this area of outstanding natural beauty: mountain vistas, rock formations, wild flowers. The food is excellent, the service, although professional, inviting one to feel welcome and at home. The room’s decoration is stylish and the bathroom spacious with a dream shower. There is Safe parking and internet access, and an courtyard with a pool: perfect for the hot Karoo days.

Wonderful, welcoming staff, atmosphere and stay. Couldn't ask for better.
Everyone is so friendly, assisting and helping with a smile, and actually treating us like family.
Rooms, dining room, the whole area is comfortable, peaceful and it is not difficult to relax and enjoy oneself. Everything very clean and taken care of. I loved the pictures and paintings all around.
